Why limit yourself? Join TubeHunter in the Shame Hole and splash Maze's End.
Maze's end is much more than a splash. It my friend, is an

I really need to beat any Maze End deck I manage to find, and then give out a
Skullcrack to them as a gift.
Too bad you cannot choose your opponents in modo.

Hey TubeHunter, how's the mirror matchup?
Oh wait, you don't have those, do you?

Essence of suck.
More like "Essence of Solitaire".

I hope you never have to play me.
I don't want you to be upset when you lose to maze's end.

The day I lose to you and your
Maze's End deck is the day I make confetti out of my
Moats and
Tabernacle at Pendrell Vales and throw you a party.
I fucking championed the shit out of TurboFog back a ways ago.
My level; get on it.

It's a pity that I don't share the timezone with most of you (At least from how it looks, since most of you are not online when I log in modo). I'd be glad to take the challenge otherwise.

I can proxy it, I'm quite capable of doing nothing for 10 turns while pontificating about how clever I am.
I played a LOT of UB control, doncha know?

Oh I don't need to remind anyone who plays me how clever I am, that should already be apparent.

Man, I'm seeing the weirdest decks in 2-mans. There's no way these are real decks. Think I'll stick to 8-man.

Whenever possible just play DEs, pay out is by FAR the best.
To do list:
- finish PyroRed matchup guide
- fix stream
- finish magma jet article
- finish Chandra article
- start article on PT results, extrapolating strategy developments
- spend quality time with friends and girl friend
Seem legit?

I try to do DEs when I can but my schedule rarely permits, so I tend to spend a lot of time in the 8-mans unfortunately. Lower EV but at least packs are at 3.88 right now.

By DE, do you mean the Scheduled Events, zem? That's pretty difficult for me, considering most of the events start at 10 pm - 12 am (Time where I'm available for it).
@val: Which vendor do you frequent for that price? I've been trading them away for roughly 3.25 tix each.

I'm so tempted to convert my paper deck into MTGO. I really like owning paper cards though.

+1 for where are you selling??
At least they're not giving out M14 now :S

They don't? Perhaps the prize has been changed after maintenance, because the last booster I got in a 2-man was a M14.
Posted: Thu Oct 10, 2013 5:34 am
by zemanjaski
Yeah should be changed after maintenance now. Giving out M14 is bullshit.

Oh gods, dat terrible feel when you remember that the PTQs for PT BotG are SEALED. I've been spending so much time reading for and prepping standard, and some drafting. Does anyone actually like sealed?
Posted: Thu Oct 10, 2013 6:02 am
by zemanjaski
Not a real format.

Sealed is ok, but affected too much by luck. Theros sealed is also bomb-y given the lack of spot removal.

wat is sealed
Posted: Thu Oct 10, 2013 6:13 am
by NerdBoyWonder
Damn that was a lot to catch up on.
@Darth use to like sealed due to prereleases but realized that your placing in an event is a bit more dependent on your pack pool than skill at times. Example: played two days of Theros sealed for prerelease. Day one scrubbed out pretty bad but had cards in 4 colors that didn't let me swing in any direction. Day two placed 4th with a sealed pool of R/w aggro.
Liking booster draft because it lets me practice and raise my skill set on card evaluations.

Apparently I'm just lucky then. Haven't gotten less than 4th out of ~60 players since Dark Ascension, I think?

I'm glad you said it the rest of us weren't sure how to bring it up.

Sealed is a reality players have to face since it's actually a format being played at GP/T and PTQs. I wish limited tournaments were just draft tables.
Sealed is a good excuse for opening 6 boosters though and potentially getting more.

by F.I.A
Sealed is a mixed box of choc for me. The last time I played Theros prerelease:
1st time -
Purphoros, God of the Forge,
Nylea, God of the Hunt,
Slyvan Carytid,
Underworld Cerberus
2nd time -
Stormbreath Dragon,
Firedrinker Satyr,
Hammer of Purphoros
3rd time -
Hammer of Purphoros,
Ember Swallower, 1 booster
The last time I played Dark Ascension, my card pool stunk so bad that I dropped halfway. I'll still play at least a prerelease or two each season.

You've heard me stream. I'm relentlessly sarcastic. Assume everything I say is as such, including that Cedric Phillips is an intelligent and charming character.

Zeman - Would you object to posting the PyroRed list that team Canada will be playing? If you don't want it in public view, would you object to sending it to me via PM?

So the general opinion is that we play sealed because we "have to"? Good, I'm glad it's not just me. I do have a friend who like the format though. She's not great at constructed (half the time I build decks for her, but she does well with white weenie), and she can't draft well, but for some reason she can open 6 packs, jam the green and white together and win with it, especially prereleases. Seriously, always green and white, every prerelease we've both attended since lorwyn, and she's always in the top 4. She gives a token look at the other colors, and will very rarely splash a third color (like red for a couple of werewolves during innistrad pre), but always nutz g/w. I heard her say she was in gruul at gatecrash, but we didn't go the same day.

I'm trying very, very hard to find worthwhile threads to post in on MTGS to help recruit and stuff.
But it's not working out.
