It's hard coming back from a serious injury; I e had both shoulder (had it torn apart at nationals 2011) and back surgery (cumulative injuries) at different times and all you can do is:
- give 100% to your recovery program
- stay as active as you can in the sport, in any capacity you can. You don't want to be afraid to go back.
- do everything possible to put yourself in the best possible place to return to training; mental wellbeing, diet etc

ACL tears are the worst. What surgery options have they considered?

Now ya get it Yarpus! Frenzied Tilling is TERRIFIC with Monstrous.

With this specific Monstrous, yeah. It's disgusting as long as you can afford that one turn of doing nearly nothing. But with "burn every single fucking thing" shell it should not be that big problem.
After all, nobody was stopping Valakut from ramping like a madman as long as they showed some Pyroclasm from time to time yo.
Remember to ramp into that fucking Green Primordial. Results can be fun.

I mean this badboy

1 Diabolic Tutor
4 Pilfered Plans

1 Aetherling
2 Duress

Designed to beat:
- UW control
- Dega (they don't maindeck Thoughtseize currently)
- Mono R
- GW
- GR Ramp

I'm not sure how it will fair against the decks
that can maindeck Thoughtseize if they get lucky and snag your win-con before you can protect it.

Just put that one Aetherling in there and say that you have "multiple winconditions".

I don't think most players will take mind grind out of your hand if they see it with thoughtsieze. there'll probably be something in there that will scare them more because they've actually had it played against them before.

Who recruited you?

True.

I really like the Mind Grind win-con actually, it's pretty perfect. Lock your opponent out, keep making land drops, grind 'em for heaps. Even if it's the last card in your deck, it don't matter.

Also, you can never, ever lose to Maze's End with this deck and that's important. Because fuck Maze's End.

Zem, it's not just about Thoughtseizing it - it's more about the overall philosophy. 2 Threats > 1 Threat. Especially when people... you know, could counter the spell.

I'm assuming you mean your patellar tendon? That sucks bro. And yeah, who recruited you?

I was recruited by a small Division 3 college as a Wide Receiver. After recruit day, the coaches wanted me to make the move to Safety and I agreed although I only played 2 snaps on defense in my life. Since it was Division 3, they couldn't offer athletic scholarships though. :( They offered me a couple small academic scholarships, but it wasn't enough to make it affordable for me to attend. So sadly, I never got to play college football.

In the end, it probably worked out because had I attended, I wouldn't of met my wife.

Nah, my popliteal, which is the tendon that connects my femur to my tibia in the back of my knee. (butchered the spelling though the first time.)

NOthing big, just a small division 3 school called Nebraska Weslyan , but they must want me, cause right out of the gate they offered me a 14'000 scholarship just for applying. Not even counting other scholarships I
might get (I have applied to their Full tuition one, and the football coaches told me that I have a good shot of winning that due to my academic achievements .) . It's either that, or if I don't want to play college football I will probably just go to UNL (Huskers).

Heal fast redbro.

I wish I had been good at football in HS, i did get a lot of respect for showing up every day and working my ass off even though I barely got to mediocre. The only time I ever "made a big play" was after our right dtackle was injured and I was put in and accidently went through the wrong hole and got a sac (for -5 yards). It was weird to get chewed out and congratulated at the same time, and I sat on the bench for the rest of the year. The school I went to for my undergrad doesn't even have a football team (UM st. Louis, though it's technically the the same school as mizzou).

He should grow one anyway. There's a word for people without facial hair, they're called women.

I can't speak for frenzied tilling, I never played it back in the day, and I am disinterested in playing midrange at the moment, but I used to have a lot of luck with mwonvuli acid-moss in monogreen midrange/ramp a while back.

[deck]Dimir Skullduggery[/deck]

I was worried about a singleton Aetherling if it was too deep in my deck (last four cards), but between the tutor and scrying cards to the bottom it should be fine.

Are you still in MO, DS? My alma mater is UMKC; windstrider and I both live over here on the west side of the state.

@TH - Condolences on the knee, clansman. Congrats though on keeping up the academics given your obvious love of and commitment to your team athletically. Dat brain will carry you forward even when the body decides to wrench things up. I hope that the knee turns out to be an easy fix and that recovery goes smoothly.

Still in stl, I kinda like it here, for reasons I don't fully understand (objectively this city sucks ass, other than the cardinals, and i'm not enough of a baseball fan for that to really matter). PTQ here november 30, you guys coming?

Well hey, good to know we have another brother in the state! Yeah, St. Louis definitely is on my list of cities I love to visit but that I wouldn't choose to live in...not enough upside to pull me away from the easier traffic and safer overall downtown. I will look into the PTQ sitch...I haven't looked that far ahead in kid schedules yet as I'm just trying to survive marching band season!

UGH...Red didn't fare well in TCG States here. I just saw the Top 8 and Esper Control took the day over Mono MoW, Bu Devotion, BW Mid/Control, UWr Control, GW and Domri Naya. Pffft. I have no idea how big the field was...

TH - hope everything works out for you. I was decent in high school as well despite only being 170 lbs on the offensive line (lost a lot of weight one year but they decided to keep me on the line). I got an offer from a D3 school on the condition I get to 225 but I eventually decided I didn't want to play D3 and went to Auburn. I love football and hated not playing in college but it all worked out for the best.

I went to Channel Fireball today for their Free Standard event and tore it up 3-0 without dropping a game. Can't complain with five free packs even though I opened mostly junk. Ember Swallower, Shipbreaker Kraken, Bow of Nylea, Psychic Intrusion, and Reaper of the Wilds. I did need that Ember Swallower though. The people there were great. Very friendly and cordial. Really nice place. I think I'll go again tomorrow.
