On that note, anyone know hows to set-up bots? The only way to get "buy" prices is to sell it to humans (bots buy for less and sell for more).
I set up a bot through mtgo library a few weeks ago but I could never get it to buy or sell anything. I'm not sure if its because of my prices, my small inventory, or if I was doing something wrong. The bot would just sit for hours in buy/sell mode and never interact with any
humans
New bots always have a rough time of it since people go to the ones they know and trust. It also doesn't help that you can't search for cards in trade binders other than what is specifically advertised.
Yea, I thought this was the most likely scenario, but it wasn't worth my time to get it more popular and it was slowing down my computer significantly

I'm just hoping that the scry lands, hero's downfalls, and night veil specters that I speculated on go up a ticket or 2 so I can make a good return. Currently count is about 20 of each of them

Btw, GF will be in town the next week so I'll probably be playing a lot less magic :(

I think my attempts to get to 15 qps have been foiled again

Shocking as it may be Scry lands see modern play (so they may go up) and when I brought the GW ones the other day for Hexproof they were really expensive.

I don't really think specters will go up, though HDF may increase very very slightly.

You don't think it will get played in modern? It's such a good fish card. It's like infiltratoresque with a bigger body.

Plus we don't yet know what into nyx will bring...

I only have 4 of each of the BNG scrys since they are so expensive and I'm hoping to snag them if they drop. I have 20-30 of each of the theros ones and I don't think I paid more than 1.2 for any of them. I think scry lands will get played in modern (and in standard for that matter) for a long time, and after theros stops ring opened, I think they will go up somewhat. If they hit 3 tix I'll have made nearly 150 tix

:stubborn: we'll see I guess. He is one of the best devotion cards (3 pips in two different colors on a body) and he is a perfect threat in control and Aggro-control decks. He's also not from a main set.

In the end I paid 2tix or less for all 20 of them so if they never go up it won't be a huge loss.

I know you guys probably don't know much about this but I have 4 complete sets of RtR and 2 of gatecrash. Should I wait till try rotate and redeem them to sell on ebay, or should I sell the high value cards now online and either piece out the whole thing or rebuy those cards post rotation for redemption? I feel like cards such as revelations are at their peak price and I might be losing value by holding them

With Modern being a thing now, playable cards like Sphinx's Rev. won't dip a lot after rotation, but the value of the other cards in the set will tank after RTR rotates out.

Paper redemption is also not a very attractive option now that Wizards has increased the fees.

Do you intend to play with the cards, or just have them in your collection? Do you play mostly paper or prefer online? That might change the value proposition.

I play almost exclusively online, only playing paper for PTQs, GPs, and cube drafts. The RtR redemptions are still at the lower rate since they were before the price increased. Do you guys think redeeming and sitting on the cards is a good value proposition? There are quite a few cards that might get played in eternal formats (rev, rats, abrupt decay, verdict, DRS, dreadbore, d sphere...). Or I could hold them online I guess just to use them. I don't desperately need the money but I would hate to miss out on value. If revs drop to 20 for example, that's 40 tix of value lost from not selling mine now and buying them later

Revelation sees play as a 1-2 of in Modern in one deck. It's gonna drop, pretty substantially I would guess.

If the RTR redemption fees are low, I think you're wise to redeem and flip it on eBay before the set value tanks in paper.

I'd sell everything except death rite and maybe about decay. And socks after course, keep those. Keep your scry lands. The price probably goes up during and soon after the block pro your. Standard cards shouldn't be jumping for a while as ptq season is over so I'd probably unload nightveils and other similar cards.

Deck just shit all over me in the last round vs. RW burn. I kept a hand of [Ash Zealot, Ash Zealot, Mountain, Mountain, Magma Jet, Whip of Erebos, Spike Jester] and only saw Mountains and black spells for the next 10 turns.

So it looks like I could sell the set online for about 125, or on eBay for about 150. In order to redeem I have to pay like 15 so they're about even...maybe I should just sell online so I can keep all of the <1 tix cards in case they're ever good and save the hassle of redeeming, posting on eBay, shipping, fees, etc.?

Anyone care to give me a list of the cards from RtR, GTC, and DGM that they think I should keep? I'll start:

All of the shocks
Abrupt decay
DRS

DSphere, Rev, Supreme Verdict

Domri (maybe, price will drop), Voice of Resurgence

I thought we decided that rev was barely going to be played in modern and it's value would drop. I want to keep the cards that will go up in value in the future and are therefore worth holding. I think d sphere is a good one. Maybe a couple copies of verdict? I can't really see 4 copies being played in modern but I could be wrong

Just wait for Nyx, there is still time for one last spike, just don't sit on them if and when they do (like usual, greedy pig)

It's half greediness and half being terrible at magic finance.

Do you mean wait to sell everything until nyx comes out?
