Suga, Snaps is...okay in EDH, in my experience. He's awesome in a deck that's able to bounce him with things like Riptide Laboratory and Crystal Shard, or blinking him with Resto and whatnot.

I things he's okay for a few reasons. For one, I usually don't like to exile spells from the deck since everything is a 1-of. If I'm playing straight (or just heavy) blue, I usually like things such as Mystic Retrieval and Relearn, since I can recycle my yard with Elixir or Guile or an Eldrazi.

I rarely skip a Khaospawn wall of text because I know there is always piss at the end of the rainbow.

That makes sense. If you saw my post in the Commander forum, I'm trying to take the Grixis Commander 2013 deck and upgrade it. I always loved Commander, but I never had my own, just used others decks, so I'm going to take Jeleva and make her my first
real Commander.

Blergh. Feel like crap. I wish I could cancel for tonight's class, but that would not be wise with only two weeks to go in the semester. Thankfully, it is a two hour class and not a four hour one.

So having decided to rebuild mind seize around nekusar I am left with what to do with power hungry. Shatter gang is cute (and staying in the deck), but not what I want in a commander. Prossh has a really neat etb, but I prefer commanders with more splashy abilites, as opposed to just big bruisers. This leaves sek, who I have been working on anyway. The existence of murderpost in standard makes me even more interested (oh gods, i'm considering trading post, some one stop me)

thanks to nbw for the sig.
You do need to try to gay it up a little more.

You're like the least gay member of this clan.

And that's counting the fact that you voluntarily have sex with men.

Thanks, raspy. Me too, especially with all the nasty bugs floating around right now. Last thing I need is to get sick going into finals. They're bad enough as is.

Windstrider, feel better, brother.

Suga, good luck on your deck. You've taken your first step into a larger world. But I must warn you : optimizing the manabase of a three color commander can be very....trying. I did it with Kaalia, but never again. XD

Trying to figure out an aussie pun to suggest... Closest I've gotten so far is 'cooking with fire', which just begs for a barbie joke.

He does have the advantage of grixis being a slower and controllyer, meaning you can afford more etb tapped lands. I have already spent a couple hours wrenching on the manabase, and I decided that consistency was going to be better to pursue than speed/tempo. I also decided to jam the tools for slaverlock, because I am a horrible person. More countermagic and or killspells is nice, but adding curse of bloodletting and bitterheart witch is going to be fun. I already tried bitterheart in my ascendant evincar deck, and the threat of deathtouch and a curse is actually a pretty good dissuasion, and now there are even
better curses.

Would it be bad form to post my personal Standard deck as a "Primer" in the Competitive forum because I think I'm that important?

I really think that what I'm playing is different enough to warrant its own post, and it is on the competitive level...
