Remember when Dr Jeebus said his legit source promised Thoughtseize

Remember when people at Salvation look to Dr Jeebus as a higher part of the magic community

Remember all those times I saw Dr Jeebus losing on MtGO aka every time I'm in an event with him

sometimes i see jeebus streaming on twitch and morbid curiosity pulls my finger over the link to the stream but then reason kicks in and i watch literally anything else.

for all of the missed notes and broken promises from this set, i still have young pyromancer and unless they retroactively remove it from printing nothing can take it away from me.

the only thing that makes me sadder than having to lean on that fact is how poor matt nass' article on the card was.

You know I don't honestly mind that they didn't reprint Thoughtseize.

if you played modern and didn't already own them you would be.

as a guy who deals magic cards and whose side-income is dependent on these things you would assume my position would be hey yeah never reprint that card i want all of the money forever, but you'd be wrong -- i want more supply of a card to be available because while it's great to make $100 off of single copies of a card and i have 4-5 in stock, i'd rather have a card be $30 and have 50 copies of a card in stock and have the card go back up over time even after a little price deflation.

also i want to not have to pay $300 to get the last two copies of thoughtseize foil i need for my playset.

also generally i just think it's better largely for the player base to have cards available to them than not. legacy is slowly getting encroached on and pretty much does not exist on MODO. modern has spikes of popularity but is generally not a format people play (though this is for a number of reasons not limited to card price).

in addition to just basically being a fun format to play, people need to have access to the cards needed for a format in order to actually play it. when one of the most common spells in the format is approaching $100 a copy or more (i'm kind of lumping in the tarmogoyfs in with the thoughtseizes with the dark confidants), you start pricing the player base you're looking to attract with releases of Modern masters etc out of the very format you've released a product to rope them in with.
