Esper or UW Control. Everything else sucks.

Gw deatroys this deck. Too much flash and uncounterable. Plus wrath prevention.
Maybe just stick with gw but splaah a color for removal? Detention sphere? Or black for decay/putrefy and golgari charm?

And why is that?

@Lazer: I was planning on dropping to you either way, but was seriously outmatched especially witht the triple helix second game.
With the seize first game I should have played it turn sooner to get rid of the Blod if you had it. What would you take from your hand? My reasoning was to deny you the scry and to let a creature stay in play... retrospectively, would it have been worse for you had I taken the charm or Zealot?
Since the burn matchup is so tricky and I am learning to play with seize, input is much appreciated.
Also, congratulations on making it.

I have found it to be a favorable matchup for the last couple seasons, Elspeth is nearly impossible to beat for the GW player. Last Breath and Charm do lots of work. D-Sphere, Verdict and Jace are all good. Out of the board there are creatures and Dispel to bring in as well as Glare of Heresy among any other list-specific tricks.
Always glad to face GW.

Funny as I have exact opposite thoughts on this matchup. Last breath kills only voice, azorius charm is blinded by voice. Big flash creatures are must counter or swing for bunch, gods willing is 1 mana protection from spot removal, while flash/voice/indestrrubiliy somehow blinds verdict. Elspeth is basicly killed by selesnya charm or wurm, jace does close to nothing as my creatures hits like a monstertrucks. Close to no answers in uw to hydra.
Dissolves and dispels is the only thimgs that matters imo.
Maybe we are just on a different level than our opponents? As with rw last season vs mono blue where at first it was auto loose then it became more of a 60% matchup?

Yes, my draw for G2 was rather savage I think you made the correct play taking the Jet, it was my only removal and also would have let me dig deeper into my deck. The Zealot wasn't a great play option for me at that point as I figured you would simply remove it and bash me putting me well behind. The Charm is great but at that point the Jet was definitely more valuable to me.
And thanks for the thanks

I take it you're in too?

Has B Devotion won anything outside MODO as of late (I don't really keep up with paper magic)?

I feel a lot of UW players would agree. I'd be glad to test with you if your list is
putting up good results against UW.

@Lazer - yep, currently have about 50 Qp give or take a few. I grinded a lot before the ptq at the beginning of March.

fuck this. I hurried home from the gym to get into the sealed daily. it's full. I sit with my finger over the entry button (or where it would be), someone drops, I'm too slow to get in, 6:59 and someone drops, I hit join and it says "invalid state"....fucking thing fired at 7pm with 127. who the fuck drops an event literally 1 second before the event fires. a diabolical douchebag that's who. now I'm pissed

@Kait: you mention your going too play Elder Scrolls - would you recommend that MMO to anyone? I haven't played an MMO since EVE.

A fellow victim of Spreadsheets in Space! Nice. ESO is nice and I am considering it myself. I just worry about all the unresolved bugs that have been in all the beta tests. It certainly is pretty though.

haven't been having much luck with those. I'm also kinda bored of the format and there aren't any upcoming standard tourneys that I'm playing in. a modern one and a sealed ptq. I should really be preparing for the modern one since it is a GP but I really don't want to pick a deck and have it be a terrible meta call at the time of the GP. it seems the meta online shifts every week

I've beta tested ESO a few times, and it has been pretty good. I've played almost every MMO since EQ, and currently still play WOW some as well. Hex is the game that I'm most excited about on PC, and Destiny the one I'm most excited about on console.

Z that's very impressive work. When do you play? I find it hard to get enough contiguous blocks of free time for 8-mans during the week.

I mostly double or triple queue after dinner, so 9pm-1am. I don't want tv, pip sits with me and draws or listens to music.
