They may of become somewhat lax but not as much as to say its trash.
IF I still played I would read the source more. Hell even when modding legacy I still point to the source for actually in depth content.

Sometimes I wish I still played.. but I look at my Finances, PC building hobby, and the fact most around here are MTGS type of players and I don't regret quiting. Still like to finish foiling my Infect modern deck for shits and giggles. Might do that next summer.
