a wickedly crazy game 1

i get knocked down to 2 life by a basilica screecher and dimir guildmage doing work

i top deck a renounce the guilds the turn before dimir guildmage could kill me to clear it (it's the only multicolor permanent out)

next turn my opponent who has 2 cards in hand, tries to cast a runners bane targeting his own screecher for extort. but i have render silent which counters it and prevents his second card from extorting me out. i swing for lethal next turn.

and game 2 ral zarek simultaneously taps an ogre gatekeeper guy while untapping my paralyzing grasped skyjek. i beat his face over and over again until he succumbs.

another 8-4 down

I told you guys this was a delicate ecossystem and that you had to maintain a proper ecological balance ITT, so that we may achieve a sustainable crop of drama.

But noooo, you capitalist pigs did nothing but think about short term profit and just bled the thread dry of drama, now you're just left with your tears, as the the fistful of sand this wasteland as turned into slowly slides into the dry ground.

Sorry couldn't hear you over my money being pumped from the sea floor

Do our meltdowns expire like Sally warnings?

This is actually a great little site for everyone who wasn't getting what they wanted on Sally. It's awesome we've lasted a whole year and things will only get better in 2014.

What's great is that most people here develop a thick skin (ragequits are surprisingly rare here despite our stigmatized 'gutter' reputation), which is great for long term membership since it cuts down on people getting faux-offended over every perceived slight. By not coddling our userbase and allowing the mods here to act on their own accord without neckbeardish oversight, we've cultivated a decent community of posters. Out of our 270 users, probably 40-50 log in during a given week, which is far higher than Sally's 2k-3k out of 110k. I think people can handle the 'straight talk' we provide here, even if it irks them at first (I remember a battle between Madding and I against redthirst and kaze when they first arrived but now we're all on
the same page).

This site was created by N_S with community in mind and while it has aspirations of being a big MTG forum one day, it was founded to give a bunch of friends / misfits / online outcasts a home first and foremost. That's why I think DTR can only thrive and get stronger from here. Our issues are resolved out in the open, for better or worse, but when someone is trying to cause unnecessary drama, they get called out for it. It's a system that totally bypasses the authoritarian method of private PM reprimands (infractions) and cuts down summitting roughly 84.37%. If someone is being an ass here, you can tell them that they're being an ass. You don't need to file a formal complaint to a team of fifty moderators who may or may not get back to you within a year.

Plus we have a bunch of neat smileys, spam threads and PG-13+ content that shows we have enough faith in our users to treat (most) of them like adults.
