Blah blah Stardust sucks but he's town.
Thank you! Just needed that one last tunnel to solidify my town read on you, zeman. I would like to see you make it to at least Day 2. Thanks for playing along and sorry if I stressed you out. Since you think I'm town and I think you're town, I'll just address the random other questions.
"260 Stardust seems happy to switch to GR? Really? I am so confused. Why?"
You misunderstand. Pie asked me a hypothetical where if he flipped scum, who would be his buddy. His push on GR is the only thing that came to mind as possibly bussing. I absolutely will not vote GR Day 1. Probably not even Day 2.
"Stardust, see notes on 230. Can you explain why DocLawless is town?"
Mindset of the questions, nothing more. I disagree that those questions are easy to fake.
"I don't think a full counter-claim on day
1 serves town. Thoughts?"
In some cases, maybe. If you were run up and claimed cop, the wagon on you will die off. If I'm reading the flow as shifting towards me, rather than wait to be forced to claim, I'll counterclaim immediately. I think you're generally right, especially with something like Cop where even one true read is really valuable.
"Why can't you go after G_R? Bad history in other games?"
GR and I can't read each other. The last two (maybe three?) games we've played together, we were both town and both fought to the bitter end. In both cases, we both died. That sucked. So we made an unofficial agreement to ignore each other. I plan to hold to that for the early Days at least.
"G_R jumped on freedom's wagon then immediately unvoted. You've read the thread right? It wasn't just me that found it scummy; it is AFAIK the very basis of so many posters switching to G_R."
I'll have to reread that bit. Ignoring GR, etc.
"I don't see you being similarly
picky with the language used by the other noobs."
I will when I see them. I was a bit unfair with you here since I wanted to push you hard, but language tells can be powerful.
And one final question for you: Why is LMD scum?
Wraith, are you roleplaying stardust?

Wraith is the Serial Killer!!

Wow... that was a lot to catch up on. At least I didn't end up with a million and a half questions like most of you. In fact, I think this was the only one (but please remind me if I missed yours):
One question. Who were you referring to when you said "real town"? Even if it was sarcastic, you must have had someone or some group in mind.
I wasn't referring to anyone. The joke was that I was blatantly saying that I was scum. The words "real town" were put in to make it more obvious that it was a joke. Apparently, they weren't enough.
Yeah, you guys talk a lot. The last hour of my time was pretty much spent just skimming over the past 80+ posts, and reading some of the interactions between
Doc and SD a bit more thoroughly, as Doc seems to be in the same place that I am in terms of learning the game.
Pie: you're almost spot on with your analysis of my posts and thoughts
137, and since you chose to defend me strongly after coming to these conclusions, you earned yourself some huge townpoints in my book.
Wraith: could you try to be a bit more clear with your posts? I feel like a large part of what I read today has just been your unclear posts (prime example:
257), followed by someone asking "what?" and then you having to explain what you really meant. Also, don't quote the whole string of posts if it's getting really long. That gets annoying to have to look through, and I think (G_R) has already brought this up.
I knid of like the wall of text so I can save
some time searching through the mess to answer questions and check other response.
Post 257, InflateablePie was seriously weird in his satement of reserving, a known to him judgement, on a point that might have cleared up some confusion. Now I am solid, and he has my vote. Why announce on waiting to explain a rational? To weird.

The only thing I have to deal with the scum are my votes. I want to be assertive and lynch scum to get a good head start. All this gambits and people I've never played with have me double thinking my reads.

Million things going on at work and been dropping a few balls, even though I'm juggling more than anybody else in this damned organization. Just got an ass-kicking by the boss, though, so I'm not here as much as I'd like.
VERY quickly: @Z re: Stardust question: I didn't intend to give up on it. I expected a further response from him, frankly, but haven't been able to follow up on it yet.

I never voted for freedom.

You're right, I just went and checked. I am not sure why I thought that you did honestly.
You voted for me, commented on Freedom's "scum slip" then unvoted me a little later. Somehow in my head I had it that you voted Freedom and then unvoted him immediately; I'll reassess me position on you accordingly. Thanks for catching my mistake.

@z:
- I really can't read Pie at all, and I think he has expressed difficulty in assessing my play (was that someone else? I can't find the quote). If that is the case Pie, did you have similar trouble in Ragnarok?
I think I mentioned that your play was vastly different and that you weren't alive long in Ragnarok. That's about it.
- Pie answer my questions about your T/S list in 246.
- Also 250; you explain a little in 254 but I want more; why is the vote on G_R better?
- 245? Spectrum. Most to least town. I don't feel like divulging those read explanations at this time.
- Not answering this either.
I dont much like the vote on G_R at this point, I would have thought with Pie being so suspicious of me that he should be voting for me; certainly I would be the easier lynch today.
Pie's prefers to vote G_R over me. Most people have me as their
preferred lynch currently (indicated by voting). You think I am scum; why not come after me? This mimics Rezom's question to Wraith; why not take the (in your estimation) certain scum kill?
GR can possibly be scum regardless of your alignment.
Will you vote GR with me? He's a scumread of yours, yeah?
If you don't want to vote GR, explain why.
@ Pie: You mentioned outstanding questions for me, I didn't see any on my read through (looked twice), can you just give me a post number and I will answer? Head's a bit fucked this morning TBH.
I think I was telling Wraith to look at the questions I asked you and your responses. I don't remember saying you hadn't answered questions and I am too lazy to check.
Really, really interesting that you did the same thing I did with the PBPA (Post-By-Post Analysis) and the T/S list. I'm not sure if I should be flattered or alarmed.
You'll have your answer
eventually, Wraith, and when I reveal why I'm withholding information it'll all make sense. Trust me. If I don't deliver, go fetch a noose.

Have to attend to ranch duties (horses and fence). See you all tommarrow.
I am not "playing stardust". It's really how I think, opperate, and study. He uses more neutral given stimuli as where I use direct tactics.

Z:
I agree re. 218, I spent 30 minutes reading and then finally got ready to ppst but nothing worthwhile came up except that bit about Pie channeling Kaze. The rest of this is just a black box for me. A bunch of question marks accusing each other.
If this game moved slower, I might be able to keep pace. Ragnarok started and ended in about a day of real time where I was twiddling my thumbs at work. Nothing like that right now, things are nuts with end of fiscal year projects. I'm typing this on my phone in the bathroom, Watchdog style.
I don't have strong mafia reads on anyone right now, it all just looks like a bunch of frustrated townies snarking at each other.
You want 3 names? Sure, but they're going to be pretty useless. Even following along in Ragnarok after I was lynched, I couldn't tell who was mafia until the last day and the b.s. vanilla town claim from raspy. Still interested?

by DocLawless
208DocLawless asks a question that shows he hasn't been reading the thread closely. I discussed raspy in 59 and then in 63. So either Lawless isn't reading the thread (scumtell) or he is asking questions that he thinks are town questions (scumtell). He has even noted in his own posts that raspy hasn't done much, so it isn't like I would have needed to reassess my position, raspy hasn't being active much the last two days on account of exams. FOS Lawless.
You're right, I haven't been reading as closely as I could be. I'm limited in my ability to stay on top of this by my real life. I'm doing the best I can.
Lawless please give your case on why you would follow Pie's directions. Do you think he is town? Why?
Which directions? The ones where he told me to keep questioning you right after you told me to question other people? One question about your reasoning is hardly following his directions. I haven't followed his any more than I've followed yours yet, but I have all night tonight to get caught up and try and get my head around the 120+ new posts that got dropped today. I am leaning less towards you being scum though. If you were scum you'd know my alignment and would not be trying to get me to prove how town I am by asking more questions.
I don't have a read on Pie. If there were a lynching bandwagon directed at him *today* I don't know what I'd decide.

to answer your earlier question(s) Wraith, I was voting GR over Z to see if he would follow me onto him, since he thought GR was scum. my GR vote wasn't "better", it was a test to see how Z would react. he failed by rescinding his scum read rather than voting. scum don't want to bus on D1, it's not beneficial to do so. new theory is that GR and Z are buddies*, now I just need to find the third scum.
*theory is further supported in the opposite direction by GR not following Z onto the freedom ML, and actually ignoring freedom but unvoting Z when the wagon shifted focus.
Z, what did GR do exactly to turn into a null read once I asked you to vote him?
