30 per month should be enough (assuming the other guys don't rank up as much

) I pretty much only get 35-40 each month via single queuing and I'm in top40 thus imo it is perfectly fine to stick to one event at a time
In regards too our multi-q'er I rate them on a different scale esp. Zemanjaski who
IS the best grinder this standard season (this is a fact, not an estimation) - he is rated 1970+ and he made enough QP under 2 months to hit top100 in the potyr which basically tells us that not only is is capable of playing many games, he is doing it well enough too maintain an >90% win ratio....

@Imopen -- which limited are you going to do? I'll probably do one also since I need to be practicing sealed as I've got a PTQ coming up and I'll also be doing GP Atlanta. Let me know which I'll try to do that one with you.

I'll probably be playing in the one that is in the early evening in CST. I think that's going to be 6:30? I'll be playing in the Wednesday one for sure. After that I'm not sure since my gf will be in town this weekend.

Just missed the DE event by 1 minute because I tried to squeak home and didn't think MTGO needed to update. Le sigh.

This happens to me all the time to the point where I started bringing my laptop to work so I could sign up or the event before leaving for home. Then one time I left my laptop at work and missed the event as a result

not a bad idea. No worries, I got some stress relief in before the next DE. Beat maze's end game 1, made a couple of dumb moves match 2 vs MBC though like scrying down a skullcrack because I wanted a threat.
Phoenix was in my graveyard. Also kept a 5 land hand that game with assemble which of course got siezed turn 1. Not my brightest hour but no worries.

Any limited players want to buy BNG boosters from me for 3 tickets each (you save 0.05 tickets)? (I'm ripping you off though since BNG should drop EVEN FURTHER in price soon)
EDIT: I sold them all (my gosh, I didn't expect the feeding frenzy of PMs)

Hey, any way to save a few bucks. I prob would have bought some if I had been around last night. PTQ starts in 2.5 hours. I wonder how many people will be there

Opened a strong but difficult pool with herald if torment as the main bomb. Build GBu splashing 2 nimbus niad, thassa's emissary, and a retraction helix. My white was really good but really thin

Lost round 1 to xenegod both games. Won round 2 when my opp had a game loss and my deck actually worked

Good luck. 120 gives you an actual reasonable shot of top 8'ing.

2-2 drop

I don't think I misplayed the whole tourney so that's good I guess...still dissappointed tho since this was definitely the softest PTQ I've ever attended, and it was a format I've played extensively. The magic gods were just not on my side today.

BNG dropped into 2.95 Ticket - I predicted further drops until the next downtime (it may pick up due too limited championship, however since the cash out is solid that spike won't last very long...).

Is Johnnymagic the only person in DtR entering the constructed Championship?
EDIT: Redzone - is now in the Championship playing Bx Devotion taking a fantastic decider against Ux Devotion played by JisOrange (he is good) in the finals.

Yeah don't have time I'm afraid. Only managed 15 QPs last week, but started strong with 3 yesterday. I'm wasting too much time working on limited.

Yeah don't have time I'm afraid. Only managed 15 QPs last week, but started strong with 3 yesterday. I'm wasting too much time working on limited.

last championship we had 6 DtR Members running which all placed in top16-36 (except me since I slept in... but comeon!! it started at 2:00 AM) - this time everyone is preoccupied.
So the names which we expected Z, MDU, Kait and IO2 can't run for it, but I still think our other grinders can do it like Pedros, JM, Red, Dauntless, JK and few other.
p.s. LP, do you intend on getting active with MODO in the future?

Nice work, io2. I'd really like to see the limited experts here stream an event to learn where I'm going wrong.

I'm a streaming dummy. I've never done it and I run windows through boot camp on my Mac so idk of I can even do it. My computer is about 6 years old and it's slow enough that I can't double queue but I have been wanting to get into streaming and I might get a new computer soon. Any tips from you streaming guys?

I can help you (or anyone else) get started with streaming if you catch me in the 2-3 hours before my Saturday DE stream (10 am pst). To get started, download Open Broadcast Software and sign up on twitch.tv
Streaming is very time-heavy at the start, but easy once you have the software set up and configured.

Is there any money to be made?
Posted: Mon Apr 14, 2014 9:02 pm
by hamfactorial
Yes, MDU makes some money posting his event videos to YouTube. Well-known streamers like Dzyl, Numotthenummy and Michael Jacob (Darkest_Mage) make some decent cash doing it, too.
If you stream enough to become a twitch partner, people can subscribe to your page for $5/mo and you share ad revenue.
