I don't like Pain Seer without Mogis' Marauder. Love the removal suite though!!!

I don't like Seer as much without Herald of Torment.

That hot Herald on Seer action seems like something I'd want inside of me.

Needs 4 Thoughtseize. Cut one Exava and one Magma Jet.

You also only have 12 untapped black sources to cast Hero on turn one. I don't think you can afford to run the Mutavaults, but I build conservatively so take it for what it's worth.

- Ye, Manabase could use an improvement
- Herald on Seer is T5 action and it hurts you. I'd rather Lifebane Fuck your Face Zombie. But I thought about it.
- Mogis Marauder is an option. A great option.
- I do think Magma Jet here is a bit too much of Red. I'd rather have another B card, but not sure what else could be maindeckable.

Deviant Glee is cool.
Doom Blade/Ultimate Price is classic.
Erebos screws lifegain and draws cards. (literally a god!)
Whip of Erebos is... Whippin'.
Toil/Trouble could be a game-sealer. Flexxible one.

Everyone is aware that Drown in Sorrow is substantially worse than Pyroclasm right? Pyroclasm never stopped red aggro from being playable. Sure, it murks AIR but only fucktards play AIR. For people playing magic it's just another card to play around; you can extend into it much more than an actual wrath; it's a problem solved through smart deck building.

Remember that it's not only Drown in Sorrow. It's Drown in Sorrow + Bile Blight. And that's something.
But yeah, people panick a bit too hard.

I don't THINK pyroclasm was every considered maindeckable though I could be wrong and I don't remember what the format playing infest looked like.

Regardless, the best deck in the format got the exact tools it needed to compensate for it's one weakness(swarm aggro) and as such, I respect everyones wariness regarding red aggro's viability.

I don't know how much actual competitive standard everyone else has played, but I've played in competitive tournies almost every weekend for the last month and I'm not excited to see a better mono-black.

It doesn't have to be better than Pyroclasm, it just has to be a perfect fit in the best deck in the format to make it scarier.

It doesn't work like that. What are they taking out of the maindeck to make room for it then? How will that impact the other matchups. Cards are never evaluated in a vacuum, only comparatively.

@Z - Cure MD now become's Bile Blight..cut some Devour Flesh as well. Replace the 2 Cures in the SB with Drown in Sorrows. BAM. MBC better vs aggro and mono u. All previous match ups still favorable, unfavorable ones now much more manageable. Best deck gets better.

Makes their control matchup substantially worse and they were already unfavourable. If there's a real midrange deck, hurts that too.

Not sure if trolling or just dense.

Game 1 vs. control: unfavorable. G2: basically unlosable. You upgrade shitty removal to 8 point discard spells, lifebane zombie and erebos. If you cut cure/flesh for drown/blight this matchup goes unchanged.

Midrange? The cards you'd be cutting(flesh/cure) are bad against all the midrange green decks anyways because of dorks.

Basically nothing you've said makes any sense.

Apologizes for veiwing the new set through a spectrum of realism where the good cards are:

removal
removal
the lion king
and green cards.

Oh, and a legacy card.

I don't know what to say now after I beat people. I used to tell them they should go to Midas cause I beat the brakes off of them naturally. Now they're not gonna know what to think.

Only the homies. If your opponents a tool though, when they go for the post game hand shake, they may just get the jellfish.

I would hope so. Either that or new to the game. Some of the cards on his list actually see play (Domestication, Aetherize), but there are a few stinkers in there.

almost every card that person listed has seen fringe play to top tier play. duskmantle seer and immortal servitude are the only two really shitty cards that captain obvious says are good.

Agree and Gfabs tried making Duskmantle seer a thing until Dragons maze came out and something ruined the deck(likely voice combined with far//away being unfriendly with seer).
