I wake up after a full night's rest and only 3 new posts have been made? You guys disappoint me.

By the time I get to work, I fully expect 20 more posts. And make the next topic extra disgusting. :evillol:

*Takes a deep breath*

Earlier today I sent off my two Verdant Catacombs for store credits, planning to get me some Snapcaster Mages. Now suddenly their stock of Snapcasters is gone! Fffuuu.... :flame: :flame: :gonk:

I'm in no hurry, I can wait until they get some more. But it's still annoying as hell.

And I'm having flashbacks to when I was waiting for my credits to get me some Chandras and they slowly dwindled away, and when they got more the price was almost the double...

Why don't we have a local store selling singles?

I know how you feel, Platypus. My LGS doesn't have the best selection so the $80 in store credit I've won over the past month has been mostly idle. I did pick up a set of Boon Satyr and a couple of UG temples though. I wanted to give UG flash a shot one night.

The owner of the store sells cards from his personal collection when people request specific high dollar cards, so if you want them bad enough you can get them sometimes. He was selling his Tarns for $55-60 per to me if I wanted them but I declined for the time being hoping he might sleep on it and give me a better deal for the set or something.

my lgs doesn't do store credit.

I think it because there is a stranglehold that the top tier players hold on the tournaments

That's unfortunate. We have a lot of good players at my LGS so the top 4 tends to be diverse, but usually it's the same 10-12 people hitting top 4 every month.

Carrie oliver won a PTQ like 3 or 4 months after learning to play magic through Duels of the Planeswalker while also being female for flair.

She is a rather subpar writer though.

I remember thinking the wrestlers who were cutting back when I was in class always looked so tired and wan. I couldn't imagine how they could perform looking so exhausted.

I'm actually trying to lose a lot of the beer fat I've put on in the last 8 months. My "average" weight is around is around 170. And I'm barely 5'5''. I'm just a stocky motherfucker, but I managed to put on a lot of muscle over the last few years. However, it's kind of weird how you just kind of "wake up" fat. When the scale told me I was over 210 at the end of December, I knew had to do something about it. Since January 1st, I've drank booze only once. I've limited myself to black coffee, water, milk, and V8 for my drinks, and I've started to eat a lot of plain chicken breast, veggies, peanuts, yogurt, protein shakes and fruit - disgusting, healthy shit, lol. I've also started to work out again and actually play my guitar more. Not only am I feeling and looking healthier, but my mind is a lot more clear. I've lost 10 pounds already in almost 3 weeks, so at this rate I'll be back to my studly
self in a couple of months.

That's great work man.

Healthy food doesn't have to suck; if you can cook a bit you can do a lot.

High five, Khaos. I rant and rave to everyone about eating paleo, but it's clear to me that motivated self-starters are quite rare and even the very unhealthy people in my family are resistant to even the idea of change.

Paleo is solid. I am an Atkins regular, I just like those footstuffs more (I also have a horrible grains intolerance, so it suits me well).

It's actually pretty enjoyable. I was exaggerating when I said it was disgusting. A few weeks ago when I bought my first bottle of V8, I had to resist the urge to chug the whole thing - it was that good. Not good because it was super tasty (it's like a drinkable tomato soup, lol), but because my body was so deprived from the vitamins I needed and wasn't getting from the beer 'n mead diet.

The neat thing about cutting back on drinking (and "going infinite" at the LGS with M:TG), is that I have a lot more money to spend on healthier foods. It was always a tough call between a $15 bag of chicken breasts or a 12-pack. One would feed me
for a half week (or more), the other would feed me for the night. My energy level is higher too, so it's not a drag to go shopping after work for food items. And then (like tonight), I'll cook 2-4 chicken breasts and make some extra veggie sides so that I can bring my lunch with me to work and not waste extra money on vending machine food, cafe food, or ordering Chinese.
