I've never seen any anime, barring one very confusing episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion and Grave of the Fireflies. Is being Edward good?

Every episode is a mix of confusing, upsetting and arousing, so don't worry, your experience was not unique.

Grave of the Fireflies, and indeed anything Miyazaki works on, is fantastic.

Edward is terrific. Every member of the Bebop is awesome.

The more I watched, the more frustrated I became, but also the more I wanted to find out if it was going to make any kind of sense.

Quick question: At a GP or PTQ, do you have to have tokens for say like Elspeth's soldiers or can you use dice?

As long as you and the opponent agree, you can track tokens however you like so long as game state can determined visually.

When I play a deck that spams tokens, I like to have 2 showing
tapped and untapped states and a die on top showing how many there are of that kind. It's a bit of mental gymnastics but cuts down on board clutter.
