Don't hand wave. American companies actively assisted genocide. The government was ok with that. Then they took in nazi scientists and Judi them from prosecution. Yes, that happened in the past. I've not said modern Americans are evil because of this; I don't think that and I'm not sure how you could misunderstand me so badly as to think so (except that I know how jingoistic you are; any criticism if your great country is a persona attack). If I can't dredge up shitty American conduct from the 40s (America as a whole viewed WW2 as a European War, until Pearl Harbour and now we'll get involved; which is kinda fucked to begin with, but pretty small change), why can you dredge up French history from the 40s to make fun of? Saying 'France/UK know something about 2nd world war" is such a fucking disgrace in my country. We had an Union with France signed at 1921 and with UK at 1939 (before war started). 11 days after invasion, both France and UK decided to not help Poland because fuck that, that's not their issue. France even if could win (with huge advantage over Germany) just crossed around 5km's of their borderline and went back as ... as why, you ask?
I don't know the answer. But all I know is - don't bring France to the 2nd World War discussion unless you want to spit onto something.
