Now do D2R as if it was Ouran Host Club.
Jesus Christ no.

Whenever I envision LP in my head I immediately think of Onizuka from GTO. I have no idea if he is like that irl or not, that is just my image and fuck you I am allowed that image.

I actually think Lex Luther is a reasonable villian and Superman is an interesting character ( See Quintin Tarrintino's theory in Kill Bill 2).
I love comics. I worked at a FLGS for a while post marine corps, pre current job

I love comics I really dislike superman as a "hero". Ironically, this comes up more often at work nowadays than then...

Midnight_v VS Superman:

I dislike Kal-el because he's not a "MAN" at all, he's essentially some kind of alien god. His powers are to varied and his weaknesses are constantly written out of existence because well he's superman. {Realistically, he should get his has fucking handed by anyone who can yell Shazam!, or by Dr. fate) He's got a lot
of powers and he's generally slotted to be the inspiration for all the other heroes and hell normal people to look up to.
However, he's not something people can aspire to at all because he's not really a human (in the comic sense etc...).BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY?!
He doesn't do anything particularly BRAVE!

See bravery involves personal risk.

Say for instance Zemanjaski see's a family of koala in a burning tree, if he runs over grabs a ladder and manages to climb it and rescue them, then he's put himself in jeopardy to accomplish that feat. While "Z" might be immune to fire, a pissed off falling koala can totally fuck his shit up. (for more realism insert Fireman runs into burning building to save some kids and replace drop bears with falling beams)
Zemanjaski is totally freaking brave cause he risked his ass to save the day.
Generally superman isn't really in any danger.
Even when he solo's
the big bad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoJ2Bd41zsw

My favorite superman story is:

"Whatever happened to the man of tomorrow" (or what if Proffesor X lead the Authority)
Followed by: Ending battle. (the follow up to that story)
See superman has to be appreciated by the stories that highlight his WEAKNESSES, but MOST of the time... he's not doing a
anything worth fucking reading about.
Where as... Batman, Ironman, Captain America, Redthirst and hell even Dr.Doom are really better examples of all we can ever hope to be as men.

I have a theory that Superman's image has outgrown it's own book, and he's become such an icon that he almost can't
have a comic of his own because anything you put on paper diminishes his image by setting in stone terms for his strengths and limitations. Superman, IMO, is better off simply serving as a set of ideals for heroes in the DCU to look up to and emulate. Even Batman takes pages from those notes.

The big problem with DC is that their heroes are either godlike in terms of power level, like Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, etc., or they're humans with slightly extraordinary abilities like Batman, Green arrow, etc. Those two power levels simply can't co-exist in a meaningful way in the same storyline.

Anything that can take on Superman would absolutely squish Batman, even with his "I have a plan for everything" ability. And anything on Batman's level just gets squished by Superman. The characters function best when they stay at their own levels.

I prefer Marvel since more of their titles seem to reflect this distinction. Spider-man's awesome, but he can't compete directly with some of the heavy hitters, and he recognizes that. The stories work best on a more human level when the characters struggle with their abilities. The "Dark Phoenix" storyline from X-men is awesome for precisely this
reason. At full power, Phoenix is godlike, and humans are not meant for that level of ability. Phoenix can't co-exist with the regular X-men since she's so far beyond their power levels as to make any threat against them meaningless.

Magneto, as has been previously stated, however is fucking awesome.

Marvel's been doing solid work for the last few years. I'll buy Batman just because its Batman, forever, but Marvel's really impressed me. Hawkeye has been fun, when its actually published. AvX made the X-titles hard to keep up with, but I've been reading X-Force since Yost was writing it and I think I've settled on that team as my favorite. Winter Soldier is a good book, Captain Marvel is a good book, Guardians of the Galaxy is good despite Bendis being involved... Magneto will get his own title next month I think and I'm definitely on that wagon.

My favorite book is still IDW's current run of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Three years and I'm still excited when issue comes out.

I usually end up listening to Operation Ivy every morning. Its been that way for well over a decade, which is insane considering they don't have that many songs.

I got to read a lot of storylines I'd never seen before
when I subscribed to Marvel's digital comic service. I found two gems during that time. The first was Marvel 1985. 6 issues of awesomeness written by Mark Millar. Read it and enjoy.

The second was the House of M story arc. Centering around Scarlet Witch altering reality into a utopian world where all of the heroes and Magneto would have what they most desired.

As for TMNT, I still have issue #1 from when they debuted back in 1984.

Where he cut Shredder's head off? That was brutal. I miss that version Leo. The one that will kill you faster than Raphael will because he's thought about how to do it.

Did you know Splinter's first choice of leader was Raphael? But Raph couldn't get his shit together and control himself, so it fell to Leonardo.

House of M was amazing.
