Germans are inherently racist against Jews. If they named the hot dog wiener, you can bet it's anti-semetic.

Of course, the "weenie" was intended to be a play on red domination over WW aggro as well as the more literal campfire connotation...political correctness of absolutely no consideration as I'm not here to please the easily-bruised masses.

I'm reading the thread from last to first.
So, stuff happened. Apparently the ex wife stopped by the house today while I was at work. She finally reclaimed the truck I've had.

Apparently she's flat broke, lost our old house, and got in a bad car accident.

I feel like I should be doing the victory dance now, yeah? But...I'm not. I'm conflicted, strangely. I'm not happy.
I don't think it's unusual that you aren't happy that someone else's life went to shit. It's a normal level of empathy regardless of what she did to you in the past.

Thanks for the bday wishes, all. Had a busy day of 8 hours of work followed by 4 hours of law school, but there was a nice cake with a candle and my beautiful wife waiting for me when I got home, which was a very nice way to end the day.

@ Kaze. Don't fret the feelings too much. It just proves you're a decent human being. Someone who is callous and lacks feelings in that type of situation probably deluded themselves at some point anyway. Just remember to protect yourself.

Catch- up time...I promise no terminologically-challenged nsfw's tonight ;-)

Happy Birthday, wraspy!

Val - Sending the good vibes your way, keep us in the loop.

Kaze - Conflicted is understandable because you're a decent human being. Yes, she totally did you wrong, but that doesn't change the fact that you once cared for her and shared life with her. That being said...feels are just feels--think with your brain and let the feels be what they are. You know for a fact that she's bad news, and that she's back on your doorstep only because she fucked up her stuff completely. You owe her nothing,
but you owe yourself the decency and commitment of taking care of you. Feel your feelings--even the regrets--but don't mistake them for imperatives that you have to act on against your best interests.

Strider - Hope the sunny day and melting snow brought you some lightness of mood--watch out for mud pits from the snow melt!
@Photo, get out of my head. That is almost exactly what I was going to say to Kaze, down to the "decent human being" phrase. That's just like, weird, man. ;-)

@Kaze, yes, it's ok to feel conflicted. It's called empathy, and it marks you as a caring member of the human race. That's good; we need many more people like that. However, just because you care about the suffering of another human doesn't mean you have to be a chump about it. Your ex screwed you over pretty badly, and I can't think of any circumstances where you should go out of your way to help her. She
acted like a spoiled, petulant child, so now she has to suffer the consequences of what she did. Maybe she can grow from this experience. She probably won't, but you don't have to be there to watch it happen. If anything, be grateful you dodged a bucketload of problems down the line.

I was feeling rather low yesterday, which I posted to my facebook status. A combination of dealing with my daughter's continuing problems and feeling like a fraud when it came to teaching had me quite down. I'm feeling better today, especially after a bevy of friends responded online (and photo even called; he the bestest boyfriend ever ), and I talked with my dean about it. I feel somewhat re-energized about teaching as I was able to suggest a workaround for a problem she had been having.

My driveway, as photo alluded to, is a muddy mess between melting snow and periodic bursts of rain.

As for Magic, I really want to
play a good Rb build with Young Pyromancer! Let's get moving on that.

Edit: I would totally wear that shirt.

@ Z - No, I wouldn't expect many people would be up for wearing that particular shirt...funny as a meme, but not something I'd go out wearing either (any more than the Donkey Kong version of the sentiment).

How about this, then? It's Soundwave that transforms into a working MP3 player. It even sideloads in his chest where the cassettes would go.

All the more I'd want are SD cards that transform into Rumble and Frenzy.

It was one of Dreamwave's comics. Dark Ages. Optimus Prime and Megatron were gone and both sides split into disparate factions. Ratbat was leader of the Ultracons, which consisted of the Constructicons, the Insecticons, and a handful of b-string characters. Scrapper should have crushed him and taken over.
