Sold some boosters at 3.0, keeping 200 ths and 14 jou/bng.
BTW can you remember why we moved away from PyroWhite / DosRakis to burn? Do you think cards like Nyxfleace Ram, BileBlight, Drown in Sorrow was a reason?

why are you guys holding onto your boosters? i don't know at which point you expect them to go back up

If you look at a trend, all of them should go up to ~3,5 for more favourite to ~2,5 to least favourite. Every draft costs around 11 tickets total (2 + 9 for packs). This was like that for Inn/Dka and for RTR block. Should be similar with ths.

Pretty sure it was bile blight and that it's matchup vs blue devotion was always bad. So when it couldn't consider black devotion a bye, it had no place.

I didn't know Bx Devo was so favorable for control - I figured it was more even (from an 0-experience perspective 8 discards, Connection and the Black God seem nasty).

i'm only halfway through but already you are picking so much different than i would have. i would have taken the
first crane, and then when the magma spray and the boar were there late, i would have taken the spray and been solidly RW going into that bolt you open p2p1 (that's in addition to the boar that ends up being there super late (7?)

Kait would you be up for July 13, 2014 <-- MOCS5?
Its the last one (I don't think any of us made it for MOCS6) and another great chance for you too compete against the great Pedros (yes I now rate you as DtR MODO limited master No.3 Pedros)

pedros, you actually had a really good pool. I would have cut the blue though for just a straight WB. you had a few solid white cards in your board and the splash isn't worth it imo

I don't rate Crane as first pickable over a lot of cards in the set, certainly not Golden Hind (or even Starfish). The rare was better than Crane as well. I think you're overvaluing it quite a bit. It was good in Sealed but a little slow in draft, and a lot the CFB pros seem to not care much for it.
As for my pick, it was predicated with "try to live the dream," in a draft whose theme was forcing UG. The true pick was Golden Hind IMO (as I said in the video)
I hope this clears up my stance on P1P1. My videos will involve chance taking and fun having

If you wanted to pick white to pass the good green cards as a cutting measure, that's defensible I suppose. Or perhaps white is your preference where UG is mine. That's fine too. Regardless I will first pick a Cockatrice over every non rare but Hour of Need and have found a lot of success in this strategy

Yeah I wanted this. However powerlevel was really bad. I won multiple games on a back of blue cards I played with, there is no card with powerlevel similar to sudden storm, oracle's inside, nimbus neilaid or retraction helix in black or white. I would have to play 2/4s for 4...

No I'm referring to pick 2 pack 1. I agreed with your first pick. I would not have taken the meh strive card over the cranes tho and I think the red signal was strong enough to dive in.

Oracles insight isn't that good. Also, the overlord is a top 5 rare in the block and the herald is probably top 10.
The other blue cards are good but not worth the costly splash you need in a non-green deck

Apologies I forgot about the Crane in pick 2. Yeah that was a very loose pick in the name of cutting green. White dried up several picks later so I don't regret it in hindsight, but I was going to do my best to support the Cockatrice to show that UG can *usually* be forced.
You're right though. I've only watched the video once (need to get used to listening to myself, ugh), I forgot when the cranes showed up

I love oracles insight but it's not as bombastic as it once was. I still rate it highly, especially in UW

It would be disastrous if I tried to adjust to the V4 client during a daily, so I updated the beta and uninstalled V3 to try it out.
As annoyed as I am by the beta, it's now just irritating and unfriendly instead of unusable.
Gripes:
The battlefield view still zooms out too much, resulting in unreadable cards.
Deck building interface is full of wasted horizontal space, cramped filtering menu has too many nested options in trees
Constant notification tray popups
Fonts on cards are garbage, misaligned with frame or blurry
Choppy animations, I suspect all acceleration is done in software instead of hardware
Notification that opponent has started a chat, but that's untrue
Improvements:
Right-clicking on land shows "newly-controlled" so no more activating the wrong Mutavault
Dimming the battlefield as a visual indication that there's a spell/ability going into the stack
Starting practice matches is easy,
format is automatically chosen according to deck
Sounds are less shitty
Doesn't look like a Windows 3.1 application
Dealbreakers:
Creating a new window for every duel makes templating for OBS a nightmare

If you just capture a screen area, all your matches should show up properly as you switch between them.
That "started a chat with you" thing is annoying. It shows because they tell you when your opponent submits their deck and it gets put in the chat window. I would much rather they tell me when my opponent says something since I keep chat on another screen now for extra space.

I still need to record some test matches with OBS to really see how to do this right. My old method of capturing a window and dropping out the game area falls apart with the new sub-window scheme. It's particularly annoying that MTGO.com's tip/trick article on streaming comes out after the forced switch.

Once you have it in window mode, it's always in the same position. I set it once with OBS and didn't have to touch it again. Unless you mean dual queing in which case, no clue.

Does the beta remember window sizes and positions relative to the screen?

It seems to.

That makes things easier, cool. One of the things I like about capturing a specific window is that I can browse the net without my browser showing on screen. I hope I can still do that with the beta, so nobody sees my brony porn.

I only use one monitor but yes, it has stayed put in multiple events over multiple days. I ever used a paint program to set up the frame size so it would be in the correct resolution but I haven't needed it after the first time.

I use a single monitor, but I'll be adding a second once I transition to working from home. Thanks, dudes!
I've used that paint trick to resize the V3 client before I start a stream, very nice to know I can still use it.

Vintage Masters Scheduled and Queue Events Retire Friday, July 25
Like a newb I didn't read the print earlier so I wasn't aware they were still cashing out VM Boosters for vintage queues and such, thus for those who hit 35 QP earlier (I'm looking at you HK) its in your best interest in abusing them for the EXCELLENT EV.

Warning Rant Post:
Don't you hate it when you play against a really bad deck and lose because you mull down on G2 get stuck on two lands then on G3 you end up mulling too 5 only too be stuck on 1 land for the rest of game? The worst part is BECAUSE its a really bad deck you cope 15-25+ rating dip

It is one of the reasons I am glad that ratings cease to exist in the beta. I can stop obsessing over them and just revel in the packs.

It is one of the reasons I am glad that ratings cease to exist in the beta. I can stop obsessing over them and just revel in the packs.
Just want to confirm in BETA you have ZERO ways in viewing your rating, correct? I believe rating is rather important for a non-bias self-evaluation, because sometime playing FNM, Qualifiers, 5k, 10k, SCG or TP makes you feel like your the king of the world but the rating based on stats is just hard truths.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Things I
HATE about V4 (BETA)
1) You can't view your rating... I'm aware they originally removed public rating too prevent hazing but leaving it in a place where ONLY you can view it if you YOU
really want too was a good practice which pleased all parties.
2) No public event chat, IDK giving us a chance to discuss our public hate for the beta should be a given
3) You can't watch completed events
I swear WOTC must believe complaints = Fan mail so they intentionally generate more:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsWT6i1s_Uk
EDIT: Update on Rating:
8:47 PM
ORC_Ichor: [@P]magic, that feature won't be included at the launch of the new client. It is unclear if it ever will be or if either we'll move to something like Planeswalker points,
or just no more ratings will happen.[/@]

Another 0-1 opening to start me off, against Bg devotion this time. Didn't hit a white source game 1 and 2 demons and 1 abrupt decay later, and I could never cast the Chandra in my hand. Had a chance maybe if I hadn't swung a phoenix into the decay on my chain.

I DID IT! I figured out how you can do pile view by name in the beta. You have change to card view, sort by name, then switch back to pile view (since sort by name is grayed out in pile view for reasons beyond me). Yay for sideboarding!

Is there an easy way to buy a whole deck on modo, or do I need to track down each individual card?
