Yes, I was indeed referring to the Michael J Fox comment. Don't get me wrong - although the comment was harmless, it wasn't funny in the slightest (a family member has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's, and I see its devastating effects in my work all the time) - but I was pointing out another example of MTGS mods' recent trend of carding anything they don't like, as opposed to posts that actually break the rules.
The guy who got insta-banned for selling gun magazines
is another example - the site rules don't prohibit it, but according to Gals/Sene he "should have known better."

In other news a woman named Heidy Véliz blocked traffic on a highly transited street in Guatemala City yesterday as a protest because a reversible lane "makes her arrive late to work every day". Guatemalan public opinion (i.e. social networks) is divided between those who admire her "courage", and those who think she violated other people's rights. "She should wake up earlier" one woman tweeted, while on facebook another woman said: "lots of people with no cars and a handful of children ride the bus and manage to arrive on time for work, she should be able to do it with more resources". "Heidy Veliz" became a trending topic for Guatemala on Twitter. Many memes and other images popped out:

"HELLO BOSS...
LOOK I'M GONNA BE A LITTLE LATE."
"BOSS: DON'T WORRY HEIDY, ME TOO I'M IN A
HUGE JAM BECAUSE OF SOME F()KING CRAZY BITCH"

She got a little over US$100 in fines, for blocking traffic and not having the car's registration card...

I have no sympathy for people who are late to work every day. They know what shit they may face during their commute and should prepare for that. If that means waking up 30 minutes earlier or cutting SOMETHING out of your morning routine, so be it. You're an adult, man! (or woman!) Sacrifice is a part of life!!

The person I know, no, she's still here, and trying hard to not be late anymore. I don't want her to get fired because she's my closest friend here AND one of the best agents we have.
The Guatemalan woman, idgaf.

I feel for her (the blocking traffic woman). Oftentimes discourse is marred not by what is right or wrong, but by an inability to express your aggravation in a way that might do some good. This is a nice clear signal, even if it is stupid.

Rick Ross apologized today for his pro-rape song U O E N O where he sings about slipping a girl some MDMA and fucking her without her knowing it. Unfortunately, Rick Ross did not offer apology for the rest of his career.
A) How does MDMA=date rape
B - Talib Kweli had an interesting conversation with a bunch of feminists in the hip-hop/african american community over on huffpost, which is a good watch for anyone interested in this particular issue or the larger problem of degrading women in hip-hop.

If you are honestly offended by female rap stereotypes, don't listen to rap music that contains it. There is stereotypes of everything else in rap too.
