Its also important to note re: mtgstaff, that they accused us of trying to "raid the forums", even though they could read the gutter and see we werent.

Guess what guys, the gutter still exists, and now you cant read it.

World war z was not bad at all
But Man of Steel was disappointing.

If you take away Superman's sense of humor and wonder you realize that his weakness isn't Kryptonite, its that he is really, really boring.

Well hockey season is over so I have to do something to fill my

I know Kpaca is going to hate me for this, but I actually thought the Superman movie was quite good. Action was actually Superman-tier action, and I think Earth Atmosphere is a more interesting weakness to focus on than Kryptonite, even if they are both weak as far as plot twists go.

I do agree that Superman, overall in general, is among the most
boring of the heroes. But he filled a role; the first superhero (I'm not saying anything new, but it makes sense to me that he is the way he is, because the tropes didn't exist when he was made).

But as for the movie, I thought it was a solid origin story movie ala Batman Begins. I can see big things down the line for this trilogy/series of DC movies (if the Justice League thing happens), and Man of Steel filled the role of being an entertaining origin movie about a fairly boring protagonist overall

I actually did enjoy the atmosphere weakness. The world itself was well built and quite enjoyable.

But there was nobody interesting in the movie. Superman is one of the worst heroes to play straight as he has no personality then. And the supporting cast didn't help. Lois was stock female character #9. And Zod was
about as deep as a cup of water.

Today's Superman has a personality problem that is only really shown when he is solo and the characters around him can't carry him. He isn't deep. His conflict on being on Earth, but being Kryptonian is superficial. And his big problem is the world is made out of cardboard. He works great with larger then life personalities like Batman and Lex Luthor because he is able to ground them and provide a straight man to their egotistical normal badassness. But Man of Steel shows his problems. By all accounts the origin story and world is great, but the characters lacked so much it drew away from the rest. And the sad part is the self-righteous attitude was today's Superman personality.
