Someone local is selling a playset of lightly played revised Plateau for $170. Should I offer to buy them at $160? This would be almost purely an investment as I have no Legacy deck at the moment and would most likely not play RW.
Best price I can find for it online is on TCGPlayer.com for $48.

Dual land prices will continue to trend upward until either WotC makes more of them or the Legacy format crashes. It is probably a safe buy at $40 each. Plateaus are among the cheapest of the duals because of how little they see play so they will rise more slowly.

So looking at Mr. Fayden's ultimate, I am disappoint. It seems really good, until you realize 90+% of the spells you are likely to run in constructed that can target opponent's creatures will obviate his emblem. That being said the first 2 abilities are good enough on their own.

I wasn't huge on Dack until I realized just how good his -2 is in a format full of Stoneforge Mystic decks.

I'm actually wondering if a RW hate bears list with Vial would be viable now that Eidolon of the Great Revel is a card. I may offer $150 and see where it gets me.

Hell yeah. I cast Dack, -2 targetting Batterskull? Umad?

It will be quite embarrassing getting attacked by the 0/0 germ token that "your" Batterskull is equipped to, but other than that...

Just block it down and reequip next turn. No problem!

I agree on that front, he's really good, it's just that his ultimate is either useless or requires contorting your spell choices in ways that seem stupid considering how rarely most 'walkers ultimate. If you find yourself building around a planeswalker's ultimate, you should probably just buy a t-shirt that says "Budgcaj" in Comic Sans.

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! I wish I could post more but I'm currently at the State Corrections Academy where we have no personal Internet and phones are contraband... so I'll be lucky to get in a post or two a day for a while.

That game is the best. My friend has it, along with three expansion sets and all of the blank cards filled up with inside jokes.
I'm 5-0.

So I was trying to clear up my favorites on Chrome the other day, and stumbled upon this relic, just in time for Thirstday:
I couldn't bring myself to delete it.

So, I'm in this meeting yesterday. There's a few guys in the conference room with me and there were a few guys from our other location on the phone. The meeting is all about torque values. Basically, some of our drawings called out two different torque values. One was correct, the other... not so much. But that was only half the problem, because it seems like our vendor was only randomly torquing things down properly, regardless of whether we had one good value or two values for them to use.
What that means is we have to check a few hundred screws across thirty seven cabinets to see if they're torqued properly. When my tech lead realizes how much work this will be and how much it could delay the schedule, he exclaims "Jesus Christ" over the phone.
"
No, I'm pretty sure they used nails on him." I replied without thinking. "There were no torque values on the cross."
Our conference room phone was put on mute because two of the guys couldn't stop laughing.
