Only bad thing about last week was that I couln't be there to fence off my pair of voice of resurgence. 40.00.. Sounds like too much.. wish I could've been there, no way it stays 40.

I love the smell of speculative bubbles in the morning.

This reminds me of the weekend where Wolfir Silverheart was a $20 card.

I think Voice will likely drop some, but not below $20-ish... maybe as low as $15. It's a Mythic with a good ability and no real weakness, but it's not a $40 card IMO.

Also, bocephus may actually be retarded. He's arguing that average citizens should have unrestricted freedom to buy nuclear bombs...

I mean, I'm a pro-gun nutcase too, but I don't want anyone with access to an extra million or so to have the ability to drive a U-Haul with a nuke in the back into downtown NYC.

I've always felt like Sire was a good card, especially in this meta. If he resolves against Sphinx's Revalation.dec, consider the game over. A 6/4 body AND everyone discards to 0? Really good.

Sire suddenly makes me less high on Junk Reanimator now that I've thought of the matchup more. Before I was comfortable enough with it, but now...ground seal plus sire is a HUGE beating. I think Naya blitz suddenly becomes a lot better though since that is junds worse matchup in all of my testing.

Welp, looks like I may be playing 4 maindeck slimes going forward.

I was actually really looking forward to heartless summoning, Sire, faithless looting, and unburial rites in Dega Reanimator control...then I remembered that heartless summoning means I can't play lingering souls.

I have Sacred Foundry in my burn deck, therefore you're copying me.

I recognized that and filed it under the "bless his little heart" portion of my brain and responded accordingly.

Yeah, it's one of those things you have to take your joy from when it's directed at people you don't like and take with a grain of salt when it's - inevitably - directed back at you.

Indeed. It's the Southern way.

Quite.

Might I interest you in a Mint Julep out on the veranda? It's perfect weather for one.

Whiskey and coke, please. The weather is a bit nippy for Mint Julep after this cold front.

Is it now?

It's about mid 70's here - what I would consider lower end (but still very nice) Julep weather.

They aim to do exactly the same thing. I'm not being condescending at all; my intention was "Hey look I did that already, here is a place for some ideas!"

I will say that your deck was running in my head
as I built mine, but I wanted to be less reliant on Hellrider, tokens, etc and maximize synergy with Restoration Angel. I like that I can use Angel to pull counters off my undying creatures or flicker Conscripts (which is why I run three instead of two like in your list). I also maindeck three Mizzium Mortars and no Boros Reckoner or Nearheath Pilgrim.

So yeah, I guess they aim to do the same thing, they just do it a lot differently. Which one is better for the meta? I don't know. I guess it comes down to Hellrider vs Hound really.

67 here in LA (lower Alabama).

It's actually raining here in actual LA(los angeles) so everyones probably terrified while driving. I swear, Californians drive better then everyone else in all the states I've been to, but I still find it laughable that they can't do anything in the rain. Good thing it's always sunny here :eye roll:

Well, explosive should be legal for people to buy. Foolproof idea. No way that one could go wrong.

Not just explosives - nukes.

Completely legal to buy as long as you've got the cash.

How could that possibly go wrong?

There was also the guy who tried to say I was arguing about passing out free guns to mentally ill people because I said "I don't think we should give guns to violently mentally ill people, either".

It's like these people are either "no guns for anyone" or "unrestricted weapons of any kind for everyone" with absolutely no middle ground. Where are the people with opinions on the subject that aren't either incredibly naive hippies or crazy as hell anarchist?

I'm sure there are other members with potential who just need to see the light in order to know that there's something better than Sally's culture of ignorance.

Interesting situation that came up the last time I didn't get thrashed playing mono-red(last FNM, 0-2 drop 0-4 in games, worst tourney of my life):

I have cackler and ash on board, opponent has resto mana up. 3 of my 4 options all had a lot of merit actually.

Attack with just cackler: I think you might have resto and I value ash zealot(rites flashback, bolt damage) but if you don't, I get a shocks worth of value.

Attack with just Ash: Semi bluff, I think you might have resto, but if you do, I'm fine trading it for a spear I probably have.

Attack with both: If you don't have it, this is the best play, if you do, I force you to make a decision. Block cackler and come out ahead on cards no matter what(spear, pillar, mortars still results in a 2-for-1) or block ash and try to gain value at the risk of losing your angel for a spear.

Pass the turn: Worst option, but reasonable if I have hellrider next turn and a
spear in hand for a potential tusk that he plays next turn. This gives him virtual life though as I timewalk walk myself and I'll tilt when I lose and he tells me he didn't have the angel.

In the end, I just swung in, he had no angel and I goldfished him turn 5 I think as he played a single mana dork that game and I ended the match with double hellrider annihilating his face.

I also want new players or players that want to improve to know that they have someone to look up to besides the loudest idiot like S_A, LeoninKha, or Kamahl.

So I'm basically a saint.

Maybe. My most recent suspension isn't up until well after I leave NC for a few weeks to help a friend back in Florida move, (and celebrate my birthday with them) but I guess I may go back to passively aggressively trolling them whenever I get around to it.

I could make a gimmick account but that sounds like a hassle. I don't really feel like finding a decent proxy.

Posted: Mon May 06, 2013 9:02 pm
by redthirst
Just don't troll the staff so much - it's funny and all, but it doesn't actually accomplish anything besides getting you suspended.

I know you weren't a member when we were on Sally, but we got a ton of new members just by posting quality content and disproving obviously ignorant posts with sound logic, statistics, and evidence - that sort of stuff attracts a certain type and that type is who we want on this site (those who are competent and/or are willing to learn).

Telling someone they're an idiot in the most abrasive way possible is entertaining, but it doesn't further our goal of creating the best possible MtG community.

But, that's just my opinion on the matter
