i can get why there'd be backlash against conan for that comment since muslim americans catch a lot of flack and racist spite what with that whole 9/11 thing that happened 12 years ago but that we still act like happened last week despite an international cavalcade of ethnicities attempting terrorist attacks against us since then.

i mean literally people wage one-man wars against people online if they disagree about magic cards on the internet so when people make actually offensive comments that are actual problems and are racist in addition, which is another issue when you have a global culture, i can understand people are justifiably upset.

i guess i should spend more time being upset about frivolous things that don't actually matter than be upset about institutional problems that make all but white, heterosexual males disenfranchised on a political, social, and financial arena.

I've got no problem with people being upset and offended by these statements, but I also feel that nowadays people are very sensitive and are also looking for the next thing to crusade against.

I don't think you understand what the problem with the Kony video was because it's not anything you just said.

Well it was also about the charity involved being shady as shit.

The Kony video upset a lot of people because the organization behind it spends a disproportionately unhealthy sum of its nonprofit earnings on advertising, chachkies, travel expenses, and -- what a lot of the kids you are saying are assholes (and you're actually right for this last part) assumed -- lining the organization founders' pockets instead of putting more of that money towards actually helping the people afflicted by Joseph Kony's child soldier hit squad and kidnapping ring, not realizing that the same is true of most well known and successful organizations and that in this particular case it just happened that two white guys don't really understand the social and political fine points involved in "bringing Kony to justice" or whatever they were trying to do.

However, you're also right that it didn't help that most of these people weren't going to give their money to the people affected by Kony in the
first place and they were using one bad organization's poor management as justification for why they weren't helping out something they probably are not equipped to help out in the first place.
