Creatures
4 Bloodstained Champion
4 Tormented Hero
4 War-Name Aspirant
4 Chief of the Edge
4 Goblin Rabblemaster
4 Butcher of the Horde
2 Stormbreath Dragon

Spells
3 Hero's Downfall
2 Crackling Doom
3 Mardu Charm

Planeswalkers
2 Sorin, Solemn Visitor

Lands
4 Bloodstained Mire
4 Caves of Koilos
4 Battefield Forge
3 Mana Confluence
2 Nomad Outpost
1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
3 Swamp
2 Mountain
1 Plains

Still contemplating on the manabase and Sorin's slot. He has been good in testing.
Thats where a lot of us are but it's pretty clunky. I also think it's a mistake to no play a couple Tymaret / raiders spoils.

We should probably make a thread for developing that archetype.

Look at the color of cards you're trying to curve into and figure out if that's reality or not.

Make adjustments from there.

I'm also not saying that it ISN'T reality, but you do need to figure that out. It'll mostly be a function of the speed of the format and how your deck interacts with caryatid/courser.

Finkel on WOTC. Also, why I use twitter.
Ergo, you are Finkel.

Do you do this often? You seem to be naturally good at this sort of stuff.

I bought 4 Ashcloud Phoenixes for 1,5$ each. I think it is quite a good price for this awsome 4 drop. If not I would not loose a lot.

There is a lot of ways how you want to build Mardu. You can go Warriors, you can go RED, you can go WHITE, you can go tokens, you can go aristocrats, you can go midrange/control. I even saw Mardu Devotion white.

Thanks!

I actually felt really uncomfortable ~ I don't like how little eye contact I made or how much fidgeting I was doing; I kept looking down to the floor rather than at camera or at sam too :P

Interview was good, I dislike the overlay design, you need to put Pip to work!

Was the GP really your first paper event?

First paper event under professional rules enforcement, which is why the shuffling thing was so relevant. I had played legacy events and the melbourne invitational a few times, but they are run as casual events, so my retardedness never came up.

I noticed that off the bat, but the positioning of the chairs and camera doesn't help. If the chairs were angled toward one another it would promote eye contact with the interviewer while still being able to address the camera. See Channel Fireball on Youtube for examples.

Your tone of voice was normal, your intonation was good and clear and what you had to say was interesting so I didn't really pay attention to any of that. I'm generally used to interviews with mtg players being extremely awkward to watch so this was a breather for me (see: almost any SCG interview). I think it's normal for you to show these little signs of nervousness tbh.

FWIW I know they would tremendously appreciate comments on the video, they are a small out fit commercially (though very successful players) and looking to keep improving.

Also, fuck ISIS.

I don't think it was noticable. You looked very relaxed to me. It was a good interview. The only thing that bothered me was the chair placements, they should have been angled a bit towards each other. Now it looked a bit awkward, like you both didn't know where to look, at each other (and then turn your head) or at the camera (looks like you're talking by yourself).

We should, so we could make adjustments and such. Although IMO Tymaret doesn't make the cut unless you are heavy on token production. I'm not too keen on Raiders as well since by turn 4 we should be dropping Butcher if possible.

I've yet to see a good gauntlet so I'll hold on commenting on how the deck might interact with the future meta. With regards to the two problematic cards, at least those things are covered (good removal, evasion).

Someone posted this on reddit, but this should be a good guideline for decks in KTK standard.

1. Can it deal with Courser of Kruphix?
2. Can it deal with T3 Rabblemaster? Mono-Black Aggro?
3. Can it deal with Stormbreath Dragon?
4. Draw 7, take out the most important card. Can you still win with that hand? (Thoughtseize)
5. Does it have a plan against Elspeth or Nissa?

I can put up a bunch of my level 1- level 2 decks if people want decks to start with for the first week.

The dragon is actually very big problem for Mardu brews not playing Crackling Doom or Stoke the Flames. He is both immune to Mardu Charm and Butcher which will spell doom for the deck. I really don't want to be on the receiving end of Stormie.

That is a reasonable set of criteria. I would also add Butcher of the Horde and Siege Rhino to the list since I would expect those to see heavy play in the
early weeks.

They will see a lot of play, but they don't inherently provide a different test to Stormbreath or Polukranos.

This would be appreciated. Just looking at all the "brews" on /r/spikes doesn't really give any meaningful info, and even a lot of the brews from pros on articles aren't spectacular.

Your base gauntlet should be:

Mono R RabbleBurn
Mono Black Aggro feat. Boon of Erobos x 3, eight fetchlands and 2 Murderous Cut
BUG Midrange from my Sultai Charm article; needs work, but if you cannot beat the bad version of the list...well...geez
