If Treasure Cruise gets banned or warps a format I will send signed cards to everyone.
It's definitely eligible for the pauper nine list.
formats that matter

Revelation: Cynthia Shephard did the art for both Young Pyromancer and Treasure Cruise.

It's like WOTC is trying to tell us something.

Red Right Hand — Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

Take a little walk to the edge of town
and go across the tracks
Where the viaduct looms,
like a bird of doom
As it shifts and cracks
Where secrets lie in the border fires,
in the humming wires
Hey man, you know
you're never coming back
Past the square, past the bridge,
past the mills, past the stacks
On a gathering storm comes
a tall handsome man
in a dusty black coat with
a red right hand

Creature 20
4 Firedrinker Satyr
4 Monastery Swiftspear
4 War-Name Aspirant
4 Goblin Rabblemaster
4 Ashcloud Phoenix

Spells 18
4 Titan's Strength
4 Magma Jet
4 Lightning Strike
2 Arc Lightning
4 Stoke the Flames

Land 22
22 Mountain
[/deck][/quote:6nlwx9gt]

I like this Khaos. It seems like it'll run right through anyone who stumbles or any annoying green cards. Have you tried running some number of Stormbreath/Sarkhan in this shell? If you did, how'd it go?[/quote:6nlwx9gt]
After the little bit of actual playing I've done, this is where I'm starting to steer to.
I just want something reliable and consistent that can punch through some early resistance but can also switch gears if need be

There's actually a couple of flex slots, mainly in the 2 drop section.I could play Eidolon or Bloodseeker, but I really think that anything with some kind of evasion will be the best choice. I assume that most of the early game opposition will be tokens, caryatids, and coursers, so aspirant seems to be the way to go. The Titans Strengths are really going to shine when attacking head on into coursers, plus the Scry will be good for helping me dig for Burn

Haven't tested THIS list with the Dragons yet, but I have played similar shells before with 23 land and 2 dragons. It can be done, I think, just by removing a Phoenix and 2 burn spells for a land and 2 Stormbreaths.

Being able to fly overhead is going to be really strong as I suspect that many people will be trying to just play big fatties to brick wall aggro strategies

Delver, the best deck in the format. You know, that deck that crumbles to Abrupt Decay, a card that some of the actual best decks in the format are playing as 4-ofs.

All hail Kamahl! :grovel:

When the deck's intention is to tempo out the opponent, making them pay 2 to kill something that cost 1 isn't the worst thing in the world. But yeah, having played both Delver and Jund/BGw, I'm happily in the BGw camp.

Quite being illiterate.

The matchup was in junds favor before, but delver had some trumps in keranos/batterskull to compete in the grind fest that was that matchup.

Now you're playing the same attrition matchup, but with ancestral recall.

That and delver free rolls the pod and affinity matchups which jund Can't claim.

Keranos being the only win condition that doesn't die miserably to everything in Jund/Junk seems like a pretty easy fuckin' matchup.

You don't have Ancestral Recall, it's a lot worse than that because it makes Snapcaster significantly worse. Like yeah drawing cards is sweet but why are we not paying any attention to the bigger picture? When your opponent has uncounterable kill for almost all of your ways to win, having a bunch of cards doesn't do much for you.

If Abrupt Decay wasn'
t a card the deck would be by far the best, but...yeah.

Junk is good in both of those matchups. Lingering Souls is a beating vs. Affinity and it has the sideboard hate for Pod.

It just loses to Storm.

You know what deck doesn't lose to Affinity and is infinitely more fun to play than a deck that dumps its hand out the first two turns of the game? Delver.

You also have to actually play with treasure cruise to get it. Snapcaster/goyf anti-synergy, whatever. Card is actually broken.

Things I've done:

Played 2 cruises in the same turn for 1 mana each.

Played cruise, Snap, Cruise for a total of 4 mana.

Turn 1 delver. Turn 2, blind flip, beats, leak a spell. Turn 3, thoughtscour self, Cruise, beats, holding up bolt/spell snare.

As much as I love affinity, it's not the best deck in the format. It's the best Game 1 deck in the format, but it loses to basically every UR deck.

Can't beat twin, can't be UR delver, and I think Storm has a slightly faster goldfish(nobody plays storm).

I'd like to see them duke it out physically. Alex is built like a Sasquatch and Z's built like a some kung-fu crocodile hunter.

Alex would slam a bunch of beers beforehand, becoming all horned up and retard strong.

Z would probably attempt to perform Vegeta's Gallick Gun or Big Bang Attack.

I hate Game 1 vs Affinity. I really do. The matchup for Burn improves a lot postboard, but I've lost count how many times I've been blown out in Game 1.

On the flipside if my burn opponent has every single Rift and Lightning Bolt in their deck in game 1 the matchup is basically unwinnable unless I draw a pretty specific set of cards. (Basically has to be Master of Etherium and Ravager in combination with any Nexus.)
