He's been spurned one too many times. Spurn me once, shame on you. Spurn me twice, won't get spurned again.

My entire LGS started sucking dicks and playing UB / Sultai Control. I can't magic anymore.
Can Stark's RW beat that deck at all? Any opinions on cards that are good against those?

Just play mono red, they can't beat decks with 12 1 drops + many burn spells. I play mono red now for the same reason.

How do you beat Drown in Sorrow?
I'm experiencing a new kind of tilt. It isn't rage, it's indifference. It's "yeah, I have no will to continue" and dropping half way through round 2 after not drawing any lands and having to discard for 5 turns. I think I'm to the point where I just don't care anymore, which scares me more than rage. Indifference is something I've not experienced before.

Don't overextend, play lots of copies of Outpost Siege, draw a lot of new stuff.

LP, helps those who help themselves. Try figuring it out on your own instead of asking for spoon-fed information.
It's one thing to ask for help, it's another to come across as needy and expect us to solve your problems for you.

Yeah... I think I might just sell my cards and do something else with my life instead.

Sorry, I was asking how Mono Red beats Drown in Sorrow.
I'm not particularly bothered by the card.

If I leave magic it is due to 3 month slump killing my enjoyment of the game / making it to the point of indifference.
I think I may be depressed as well, which probably doesn't help.

Sell me your cards.
And when you decide you want to play red decks, buy from me.

I haven't played mono red since August.

I was replying to the "just play mono red, it beats control" comment. I'm not sure how mono red beats drown.

is LD ignoring the fact that he just had a minor tantrum like it never happened

Yeah Mono Red is easily one of UB worth matchups...

by Lightning_Dolt
Purp, You reckon?
Kait, I'm sorry if it came across as a tantrum. I'm struggling right now. I think I'm depressed and I am finding if hard to find joy in anything. I don't even want to get out of bed. When I can't be asked to get out of bed to play in a local GPT for a GP I plan to attend (even though it's been horribly mismanaged) something is wrong.

Mono red always wins the first game(you lose only if you only draw lands, or you draw triple same one drop and it gets bile blighted). Then your opponent basically HAS to draw drown in sorrow in both games 2 and 3, and even if he draws it it's beatable because you can play around it especially with dash creatures. Mardu scout and the new firebreathing 1/1 will be excellent at this.

Translation:
Nobody will pay attention to me so I'm bored.
LD, depression can be serious. I wouldn't hesitate to talk to a doctor about it. My wife has suffered from depression for years, and the only way we get through the bad days is if we talk.

I probably should, but I am reluctant.
I feel like I'm probably facing my quarter life crisis. I can't find work in my field, I'm working shitty jobs, stuck living at home for now, friends all have wives / kids and I'm just feeling lost.
Magic gives me a little escape, but it's not working anymore.

Talk to a professional and not us.
I mean, talk to us because we're all e-friends here and it's good to share with your friends, but seek the help of a professional who can actively treat you and help you maintain yourself. Then worry about GPTs and mono red decks.
