As an employee for Starcitygames.com, I would suggest you never regard the results of our non-premium events as anything more than hogwash.
That being said, I know Arlie. I can't believe he played such a shit deck. I bet he got talked into it like he does at every fucking event. He's one of those guys that shows up with X deck, but then someone in the lobby talks him into play Y deck. Usually he fucking bombs because of it though.

As long as he doesn't write an article where he claims "hitting RR or GG on curve every game was no problem!" I don't mind.

I'm pretty sure he's illiterate so no danger of that. Just goes to show you how hard it is to top 8 an SCG silver event.

I threw up another question/consideration over in the Aristocrats thread...I would appreciate opinions.
Z, I know your opinion of Blood Artist, but I just went and checked the top 8 lists for MTGO and other events (MTG Top8); 100% of the placing Zombie decks ran Artist as at least a 3-of. I don't think he's near as powerful as he was with metamorph and Mortar Pod and more imporantly
without Detention Sphere, but he is still an intregral part of the Zombie game plan as the life swing points from cycling crawler and killing stuff are relevant. As to his place in Br Zombies...we will have to agree to disagree because he way a cornerstone of that deck. He turned wraths into dead cards and made the suicide plan a game of inevitability.

Zombies are NOT good right now. BA was much better before rotation; it is garbage now. People still run it because apparently no one who plays the deck shows the slightest innovation or ability to build beyond netdecking ~ although the card was good in the threaten+sac variant, I will give it that.

I'm trying to just go one day of the ham challenge. I'm fucking horny, but the lady friend will be over tomorrow and damn how do I love blowing a huge load in her. But my dumbass wants to jerk off to some porn. I have no will power. Must resist.
Do both.
It's what I do.
It's what Jesus would do.

Firefist Striker can be decent with BTE, however I can't find any more use with him outside that.
Seeing the winning decks in SCG opens makes me think the local scene here is better than most of the players there.

I do like a lot of the themes in the deck. MASS creatures, including a lot of bloodrush ones + Domri might be a thing if you're expecting a lot of midrange or control.

Carpet matches the drapes.
Though she did get her hair done to where she got her red accented and had some black streaks put in it. She'll do weird stuff like that from time to time. Weird, but sexy.

We're on the same page, then, more or less. I wasn't saying that Zombies is a power in the meta right now, I was saying that the Zombie decks that have been successful recently are running Artist. Some of them show some innovation from previous builds, but even the Jund variants are relatively weak in the meta. I agree that Artist doesn't make it in the meta at present, hence the discussion over in the Aristocrats thread leading to that
conclusion. Be patient with me...I just have to talk my way through the rationale to get to where you go by experiential aptitude.

There are good players in Orlando, but limited is a much more popular format there.

That VD thread on Sally is getting SO bad...
"Love the argument that your other 1 drops will do 4 + damage. Most laughable comment on here so far. Sorry bud but your 1 drop will never deal me or any other good player 4 damage. I play 1 drops to. I play removal, I play smiters, I play 2 drops with firststrike. Please don't act like your 1 drops are going to land. Unless you want to waste removal to protect your 1 drop. In that case I'll win because I use my removal to clear the way for my 3, 4, and 5 drops. "

No doubt...I just read through that last page and my stomach is churning. This post...urgh. Never mind that removal of that stupid Smiter means that Noble is growing and smacking for more every turn as those "first
striker" humans stand there going "dur, dur". I have respect for Naya and GW, but that kind of mentality makes me want to find a 2x4 and start educating. Ah well...I obviously need to just keep my head out of those threads.

You and I really ought do a podcast or a skype stream or something one day, that shit would be hysterical.
"Remember that time when you punted to Esper?"
"No."
"Me either, LOLOLOL ESPER."

Yes, that makes me happy as well because that deck gave me fits with Dos Rakis pre-GTC. It was beatable, but it hit nut draws too easily and Rancored-up Smiters and Silverhearts just sucked. Bonfire finally ended up being the fix for alongside spot removal, but I never liked the deck.
The only deck I've seen playing Smiter is Naya midrange, and good riddance.

Sign me up. Need to get LP in as well.
Edit. I just have fond memories of the Mono Red midrange deck with 4 Hound of Griselbrand, 4 Mortars and 4 Crucible that GW could never beat. Good times.

We could play on Cockatrice over Skype or something and record it. That might actually be something worth watching.

Woot, kitchen table burn wins another evening/late night of Magic.
Although, this time it is backed up by cards from the Tibalt Decks from the Sorin vs Tibalt duel decks. Browbeat is worth its weight in CMC. I need at least one more.

I've always wanted to create a standard Battle of Wits deck, just to mess with people. Not sure what to put in though.

My friend made one at the end of scars block standard. Pretty much just a bunch of good rares and mythics in all 5 colors. And tutors. Lots of tutors.

Hey freedom, if you're interested in joining up, we've got a thread titled "I want to Join..." which tells you what you need to do. (It's not hard)
Get on that and I'll give you posting privileges to the restricted forum.
Also, any chance you're the same freedom that plays MTG from mcb?

Mornin gentlemen and gentlemen!
Browbeat is worth its weight in CMC.
Things I've never heard before

It is such a situational card; works in the S v. T well enough, but I'm pretty sure it is arguably the worst card in Tibalt (though killing Sorin with it is oh so satisfying).

'morning, gents.
New pic of me and my lady wife in the Rogues' Gallery: Victorian Pimp. We dabble in Steampunk, so we threw together some outfits to attend a local gathering last year. Loads of fun. I need to trick out some of my Nerf weapons to complete the look.
I think I might be getting a new kilt and matching jacket for my birthday in two weeks. She's being sneaky and dropping hints at me. Have I mentioned how much I absolutely love this woman? Likes to dress in corsets, plays Magic and RPGs,
and buys me cool stuff.

Yeah, the best that can be said of my girl's feelings toward my geeky shit is that she tolerates the fact that I love it.
Of course, she also has family that lives like 30 minutes away from GenCon, so I get to go there on the cheap.

Oh, are we doing girl based /bragposts?
- Played WoW with me for years.
- Went to the midnight release of D3 so we could pick up our collectors editions (and don't even start in with your D2 fanboism about how bad D3 sucked...it was awesome. D3 being great doesn't mean D2 was any LESS great...it's just that time has to move on.)
- Got into Magic when I got BACK into Magic
- Is willing to collect all the same stupid shit I do...like making sure we get ALL the guildpacks from RTR/GTC.
- Actually WANTS to go to Blizzcon/other cons. Now...THAT one, I'm not so keen on, but she thinks they look fun. I think they look smelly
That's all I can remember, but I'm only dealing with the geeky stuff. I'll spare you details on the rest of the "stuff."

Mine also doesn't think it's her business what I spend my money on - which seems like it'd be common sense, but is actually very rare.
Guns? Games? $200 Steampunk boots? The worst I get is rolled eyes and "whatever makes you happy, sweetie."
I may lament the fact that my girl doesn't want to learn M:tG or play paintball with me, or paint game figures, or dress up and go to conventions - but she's legitimately the best person I've ever known.
And also has the cutest face and sexiest little body I could want.
That's probably good enough.
