-Hearing some guy who obviously follows us either here or on Sally say that he was playing "Dos Rakdos" and sounding like he'd come up with something clever.
If you're going to steal something and pretend it's yours at least have the decency to call it by the correct name
fucker
also don't steal bad deck names

Played some UB control in legacy; JtMS is a fair card....not.
Otherwise, went to the football with some mates. Spent today keeping wolf-girl company (bad cold, made her lunch and watched One Piece).
What was your list? I play UB a LOT. Its my go-to when I don't want to play Stoneblade.
Mostly because I love
Cabal Therapy and
Thoughtseize, though.

If I ever decide to play Legacy, my deck will have Cabal Therapy in it.

Since I wasn't around during the release of Legacy era cards, it's very hard to get into the format due to the costs of the cards. Luckily, the LGS doesn't run much Legacy.

Oh, so Caleb's list. I saw the article on the deck, looks legit.

What does it say about me that my favorite part of that deck is that it plays trinket mage? It's like borderland ranger on steroids!

How'd the stream go Ham? Wish I was awake for it. Been a long time since I've watched a good stream.
Johnny:
I went 3-1, losing in round 3 to a Naya Blitz deck with 2 Boros Reckoners in hand while praying for the 3rd land drop. Didn't ever find it.
Sorry to hear that. You'll get em next time.

Also, you can pre-order the new DotP game now.

I've made some noise in the past about getting those in the clan who have Steam together and playing a few games, and this is just another excuse for me to throw the idea out there again. Plus, there's a promo Scavenging Ooze in it for us this time

Happy Father's Day to all the dads in FoS. Photo, Strider, Khaos, keep on keeping on.
Had a rather excellent day. Got a decanter and matching old fashioned glasses (also called lowball or rocks glass). Then got a large bottle of Kraken rum to fill up said decanter, and a some good vodka. I know my wife loves me when she promotes my drinking habit.

So, since playing
Jhoira of the Ghitu just paints a big huge target on my forehead in EDH, I think I'll make some adjustments and switch to
Tibor and Lumia. Any deck suggestions?

Thanks for the well-wishes, SM; a happy (now belated) Father's Day to you and all the other dads as well. My daughter...sheesh. While we were in Omaha, we spent some time hanging out in a shop that had all sorts of oddities and cultural lampoonery; my present this morning was a little pocket-sized book of pick up lines and come-ons so that I can "get out and meet someone already". I'm contemplating putting this one in foster care...

I ran into the same problem.
Tibor and Lumia is terrible, though. Izzet colors are pretty limited commander-wise, but...
Creature based decks:
Nin, the Pain Artist.
Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind, or
Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius.
Spell based combo:
Melek, Izzet Paragon.
Tibor and Lumia used to be the go-to but there's no reason to play them with
Melek around.
Nin is probably your best bet. She's cheap to cast and doesn't warrant a huge target. I played her in a
Wheel of Fortune oriented EDH deck and it was good times, but I'm sure she's also just fine in a casual Jhoira deck or something.

Hahahaha, that's hilarious photo. At least the kids care?
In other news, I check out the top 8 of GP Houston and I see a guy who was giving me advice at the PTQ I attended and the best player from my card shop in Oklahoma. Interesting occurrence.

The kid is shameless...she was laughing her little butt off over having not only zinged me but having managed to buy the book under my nose. I told her I'm going to start randomly tossing the lines at women when she's with me and realized that maybe she hadn't thought things all the way through...

re: Chandra. There's something going around about MaRo saying that one of Chandra's abilities will be something not traditionally in red's color pie. I don't have a source for that but I keep hearing it.
I've been reading The Secretist books on my Kindle. They're the Magic novellas about the RTR block. They're bad but fun. Anyway, at the end of the 2nd one, after the story in the promos area, is a reference to Chandra. It mentions her as being a symbol of the apocalypse on some plane. I don't have the quote with me but can try to find it.
Maybe that means wrath effect?

It might be time for a little Ham Challenge over there in MO, no? With all the spare testosterone floating around here, you're bound to be more successful with the ladies even without trying.

Thank you, SM. I hope you also had a good Father's Day.
We got out to the local amusement park yesterday. We originally intended to go to the water park, but it turned unseasonably cool on us, so we went to the amusement park side first. Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun are side by side and owned by the same company. This year, all tickets allow access to both sides of the park, so our season passes are doubly useful. We got to ride some rides, then went to lunch, and then went over to Oceans after it had warmed up.
My son is a water baby. If there's water nearby, he wants to be in it. It was still a bit chilly, though, and he was shivering. That didn't stop him one bit from wanting to stay in the water. My daughter and I rode some of the bigger water slides. My wife is feeling her early pregnancy in the worst ways, so she opted out of the more strenuous activities. After our day at the parks, we went to Coldstone for ice
cream (chocolate with peanut butter mixed in, thank you).
All in all, a good day. In addition to the playset of Sacred Foundry, I also got two new suit jackets. I'm happy.

I feel like it would probably be a ramp effect, to the same tune of LotDR.
also, we already got the "

Last good red planeswalker we had was Koth, right? I think most of the planeswalkers in other colors have been, for the most part, playable. We're getting screwed over here.

Thought process for designing all the Chandras:
On the first Chandra-
"Well guys, looks like we need a red planeswalker. Most red decks curve out at 5 right? Let's give her a ping ability and call it a day! "
On the second Chandra-
"Well folks, looks like Chandra was a miss. I think where we went wrong was that she wasn't a 6 drop. What? We're also releasing Titans in a few months? Let's give her a big ultimate then. "
On the third Chandra-
"K, guys, we've missed twice with Chandra but everyone loved Koth. Lets make her that same CMC but just not as good. Do people still use Fork effects in Standard? No? K, we'll add that to her abilities. "
Posted: Mon Jun 17, 2013 8:50 pm
by DroppinSuga
On the soon to be released Chandra:
"K guys, she's consistently been the worst Planeswalker so why should we change a thing?!?!"

M14 Chandra's ultimate will allow you to search your deck for any Tibalt permanent and place it in the trash can without paying its mana cost.
