I would definitely check out Mass Effect 1 & 2 and Oblivion. You've got to play Oblivion. That game took hundreds of hours from my life.

So! Rebrew~

Super Street Fighter IV is a great fighter for only $10. Final Fantasy XIII, Marvel vs Capcom 3, The Last Remnant, Modern Warfare 2, Devil May Cry 4. All good games.

Do you think we'll see more of the leveling kinds of creatures like Figure of Destiny or Kargan Dragonlord?

Posted: Thu Jun 20, 2013 3:21 am
by zemanjaski
Sure hope so, they're very good. They're typically a smidge better than cards like Truefire Paladin; but really, any creature mana-sink is great for Rx.

Will miss you Stonewright.

I can see wanting to fit in a full book of Path MB, but is it really worth taking out figure? He's such a good beater.

I hope so. There could be any number of things in store for us after m14.

I don't think figure advances your gameplan, which is to swarm with an anthem.

Path is wayyyy too important in modern. Stops so many sudden kills out of nowhere.

Good luck! It is an extremely good deck. Stomps any delver variant, tempo-based deck, aggro deck, or midrange deck handily.

Anybody know any Xbox 360 games that are fairly old that I should pick up? I just bought a 360 (finally, found it on Craigslist for $20, all I had to do was fix the disc tray) and I've just been picking up cheap games that are <$10. I got Civilization Revolution for $5 and I have been playing the shit out of it all week.
Fallout: New Vegas.

Noobish as I am, never playing above FNM level and all, I never knew I was so naive. I can't believe the scummy things people will do to win.

It actually reminds me of something that happened a few weeks ago. Playing a friend of mine at the LGS, I had him at lethal next turn. He said, "game two, then?" I replied with a "sure" and picked up my cards. "Dude, you just gave up. I didn't say I conceded, and you picked up your cards first." Luckily, he did that on purpose to inform me and didn't go through with that scumbag tactic, but it gave me a taste of what I could expect in more competitive situations.

Bayonetta is an excellent action game, one of the best.

Thanks for all the happy birthday wishes, guys! I was out all day white-water rafting with my dad, brother and a friend. Was probably the best rafting I'd ever done. My knees got sunburned as fuck, though. I know, my knees, of all places.
Also, Alex, if you really want to splurge on a good game, I just saw Battlefield 3 at Gamestop for under $20 used. It's one of the better Xbox games, and you should definitely pick it up.

I wish. I used to have about 2500-3000 pts of Eldar. I sold it all a few years ago. I'd love to play Tyranids, but it's gotten too fraking expensive lately.

I'm assuming this is in answer to my question, so...

What's the meta look like? I'm thinking of getting into Tau because they're completely different from what I used to play and I love the modeling potential, but I am competitive and want to play a competitive army.

Also, is it just me, or have model prices actually gone down? Things seem significantly less expensive than they were the last time I played.

Quick question regarding triggers, specifically the redirected damage from Boros Reckoner: when does the damage resolve? If it's blocking, takes damage, and shoots another attacking creature with lethal damage, does the targeted creature still deal its damage to the player? I think, yes, since it's happening during the damage phase of combat, so I still take the damage from the creature and then it dies after combat resolves.

Posted: Thu Jun 20, 2013 3:26 pm
by redthirst
All the combat damage is happening at the same time, so the opponent's creature will deal damage to you at the same time his creature deals damage to Reckoner.

Unless the dude Reckoner blocked had First/Double Strike - then you can snipe a regular creature before it does combat damage.

Hope you like it. I intended to do the conversion in a bright and glorious gold, but I never remembered to pick up a paint pen when I was out and I'd put off sending you the card long enough so I went with a Sharpie. Still came out okay IMO.

Meta is always 50%+ MEQ; then a mix of elder, orks and nids. Tau are ok, but not a powered up codex, which puts you at a
disadvantage in the US (the UK and Aus both have composition scores to encourage a more comparable power level between armies). I played Black Templars in 3rd/4th; then Nids in 4th/5th. Right now is probably just play Orks.

Orks? Gross.

Meh, I may just go for it anyway - I've always loved the way Tau look.

I have WAAAY too much of my childhood $$ in Tau sitting in a box in storage somewhere back in VA, that I would sell.

Darksiders 2 for those dungeon crawler desires (first game is for PC, which you can pirate easily if you don't want to throw money at a defunct company for a dated game).

Do you know anything about homebrewing? That's the first place to start if IP doesn't keep you up at night. Even if you don't want to steal stuff, there are a bunch of great GUI redevs and third-party applications out there for 360. Lots of top-notch
programmers love their homebrew projects and maintain them actively.

I don't have much use for anything assembled/painted since I enjoy the modeling aspect of the hobby so much, but anything not assembled or any bits and such I'd be happy to take off your hands.

Well, vehicles could be assembled... there's not much conversion work or anything I'd be doing with them.

I've always been interested in 40k, but I've never actually gotten into it. I'm terrible at painting minis, so I don't think it's a good game for me.

Tomorrow night at FNM, I'm gonna play KDW. I fully expect an opponent to rage on me. I'm excited at the perspective.

All of a sudden, the clan started speaking in strange tongues I couldn't comprehend.

Seriously, though. I fail to see the fun of 40k, at least from the outside perspective. There's a couple of guys who play in the corner of my LGS every Friday(provided there's room) and it seems like all it is is a lot of tape measures, kneeling to look at the table from different points of view, and shouting at everyone else about how what someone did didn't work blah blah blah. They're obnoxious.
