Deep breaths, guys?
Suspension Evasion

The penalty for evading one's suspension has been reduced from a ban to a one-week extension to the previous suspension for first-time offenders, and a ban for repeat evaders.

The reason for this change is that we would like to avoid having to ban users who aren't actually problematic. A suspension evasion undermines the system, but isn't damaging enough to the community that a full ban is necessary in most circumstances.

However, as it's still considered a serious rules violation, and repeat offenders are showing blatant disregard of our
rules, and if they're not going to wait through any suspensions, our punitive measures become useless. As they've been warned for evasion already, we will ban upon the second suspension evasion.

Users that have been banned for suspension evasion in the past may appeal their ban in the ban/suspension appeal forum. Note that it will still be considered a normal ban appeal process, which may still be either successful or unsuccessful.
Seems like a pretty good move.

EDIT: Sometimes I just get the feeling that the staff get awfully tired of having me constantly second-guessing their decisions. So lately, I've been making a conscious effort to cut back on that and just let them regenerate and relax a bit without getting lectured/sermonized/berated so much by an old-timer, because that's got to be getting to be a really old and tiresome routine by now.

On the other hand, sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised. A couple of the last staff members who I'd never have expected to say
anything like this PM'd me to say that they thought I should chime in on the Teia/RLA situation in a private setting, so maybe I'm letting my imagination carry me away.
Will you be taking your gloves off for this one, sir? It's just smexy when you take your gloves off. Grawr.

Your posting here will have no outcome that is positive, unless you're trying to stir up shit. I've told you that, and your continued posting here suggests to me that you're trying to cause problems.
This bothers me, though. What does this mean?

Harkius, to expound on my previous point I believe that discussing things frankly and unabashedly always supersedes not duking out any differences and everyone getting back to its grotto with their own bilis. I'll say, I have much respect with the fact that you are here chatting with us and providing your opinions, even if you know they will likely won't be popular.

As an example, we were able to sort out that misconception that Kijin was assembling dossiers about your persona, which he wasn't, and we sorted out these things amicably (it turns out you were simply fed misinformation from Senori who is known to have some weird blood oath against Kijin for half a decade).

This was an example where both parties showed that it is possible to behave as adults and communicate effectively. This is an online medium. It is impossible for something harsh like a fight breaking up to occur. Why should we be afraid of interacting
without any fear on an online medium? This baffles me.

This said, I do think some of you guys (Kaitscralt, Jones, etc...) are being excessively confrontational towards Harkius. Sometimes this thread sounds like a Sailor's tavern, and Harkius makes a point that it doesn't bode well for you(us) guys.

The fact that we are able to discuss things in a civilized fashion, without these walls crumbling is one of the pleasant surprises I had over here, given the "epic" feud that existed over MTGS between Harkius and the Gutter Borg collective ;)

And I disagree with your assessment boss I tend to be more chatty and friendly towards Harkius in chat than many people I just can't help a good ribbing and he did get a little defensive but maybe I shouldn't have dropped a fag bomb

I'm at no point trying to cause problems. I'm just trying to explain what we're doing is all :/ But whenever I post I get on average seventeen responses with questions and comments, and it's
impossible for me to keep up even if I wanted to.

to echo Madding, I was wrongly banned for gimmick evasion when I didn't evade with a gimmick, even though Gals was convinced I did. Should I just reappeal, even though the original ban was unjust?

@Appealing: Why the hell aren't you guys just doing that? What possible damage could come from it?

@Harkius: You forgot Votan, and I know it's not in your nature but could you try not to judge these people, Sene included, so harshly? Yes, there's going to be a lot of dead ends ahead, but that's how mazes work.

@Sene: I'm... finding myself incapable of writing out the words. I'll see if I can summon up a little more courage and try again in a little while, but it's pretty hard shit to say.

Harkius, right now I'm actually not talking about Gutter-iridium bullshit (you know, that other megathread...), and I'm not going back on my decision to leave that alone, but this isn't really that. And yeah, @your last post, that's what I'm doing. I'm not bringing it up, but I'll sometimes try to answer stuff if it's being brought up by others.

Anyway, Yanni, I don't remember the exact evidence and stuff, but I suppose you should also appeal nonetheless.

I'm available on AIM a lot of the time, so you use AIM and that's easier, that'd be fine by me.
