By my calculations, I hit 100% of my Hellriders on 9 land 100% of the time when 42.6% of LBS's posts are inane. Also, there is a +/- 5% chance to flood out when Teia posts.
Teia flooding sounds like a surgery failure personal problem.
The doctor that delivered her should be sued for malpractice

Fuck. Sitting at work right now and the guy across from me is speaking so loud on the phone I can hear him over the music on my headphones. I might be getting fired today, or arrested. Either one.

Can't decide which deck to play tomorrow fro GP Miami. Fuck me running, man. I thought I knew what I was going to go with, but the last few days of playtesting have me second guessing myself.
[deck]Khaos Deck Wins[/deck]
[deck]Gruul Smash[/deck]
Now for some Pros & Cons:
Khaos Deck Wins
Pros: Single color (impossible to color screw), evasive against midrange decks, strong lategame (especially postboard), sideboard really hates on Lingering Souls deck, most people STILL don't know about/underestimate the Crucible, Stonewright, Wolf, and Hound family
Cons: Not as fast as Gruul or Naya, prone to flooding, sometimes "too slow" when it really counts, lifegain will wreck this deck
Gruul Smash
Pros: Blisteringly fast, Burning-Tree Shenanigans, Evasiveness with Trample (GCR), Plays Boros Reckoner main to deal with aggro mirror, some insurance against Sphinx Rev and other lifegain type decks
Cons: Not a very good lategame, prone to color screw, Lingering Souls can be problematic, prone to mana screw
So guys, maybe y'all can help me come to a decision? In playtesting, Gruul was just the bee's knees while Khaos Deck really relied on
a nuts-type draw to beat the newer decks. I suppose the real question is, am I going to go with a deck that's best positioned to win or am I going to go with my pet deck regardless? I do suspect Lingering Souls will be running rampant. That's just my prediction.

Khaos, I would go with the best positioned deck that you have the cards for. I was going to play Dos Rakis at the GPT this weekend, but I realized I would probably do better with Gruul.
On an unrelated note, anybody have the host name and port number to play Cockatrice on the woogerworks server?

18 land with 4 hellriders
Khaos
pls no
pls.
Also Blasphemous Act in a deck without late game has never been good to me. In theory yeah you can get reckoner out and win from nowhere, but without a way to dig for the combo its more often just a reset button for a late game that you'll lose.
Between 4-color rites and junk (which I think is going to be the most popular, due to its strength over naya that people THINK is going to be the most popular), I think Ash Zealot+Pyreheart team is gonna be the best bet, with Bonfires/Hellkites in the side to embarass those cute Junk Aristocrat players still holding on. Also witb your experience and UWr players LACK of experience with how to play against your deck (or whats in it), you can crush that MU too whereas Gruul... well Gruul really gets dunked by UWr every freakin time because you have to overextend into verdict to win, and if they are on the geist resto plan domri isn'
t gonna save you (or even helix).
So I'd rather be playing your deck if I was good at it against everything except probably Act 2 and Esper (you have no VS to go around reckoners), and even then hellkite has game post board.
Where's Frostburn weird though? I'd reccomend him in the SB over Hound probably for the meta, there's always a ton of Rg players at events these days

Your second list has four Hellriders on 18 land. This needs to be fixed.
I play KDW in paper and 18-land Gruul online. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with either. I feel like KDW gives your more playstyle options postboard against the aggro and midrange decks you will inevitably see in the tournament. KDW is also still fast enough to beat the big players in the format (Jund Midrange, Rites, UWx control).
I'd go with whatever deck you're most comfortable with. In the end, KDW will be better against an aggro field and Gruul sligh will be
better against a control field.

Thanks man. Can you add people to a "friends list"? I'm looking around and you used to be able to right click on a persons name and add them as a friend, but I don't see that option now.
Oops, just noticed I wasn't a registered user. All better now.

But thanks for everyone's feedback. I really appreciate it.
As for Frostburns, I'm on the fence right now. The Hound is really good against Midrange and Verdict decks. I think I play enough removal to justify not running the Weirds, but then again, they do serious work blocking pigs in the aggro mirror.

Khaos, would you please fuck a hooker in a coke-fueled rage for me? I need to live vicariously through some people.
On a totally different note, I think I'm going to do something I said I never would and change my FNM deck up. I said I wouldn't play Gruul, but I think I'm going for it. I've been enjoying the work done in the Gruul thread so I think I'm gonna make the jump.
For you, sir, I will
record it. And as an added bonus, I'll have every
member from my testing group join in and rage-fuck said hooker with me.
I see what you did there sir.
Interestingly enough, while waiting at the bus stop, I met a hooker. Apparently someone cancelled on her and she was looking for more clients. I politely declined her proposition but gave offered to snort some blow off her if it would make her feel better.
So how did that go then? Was she down for that?

K, I'm gonna go represent FoS in Miami with KDW. You know what would totally make my fucking lifetime? To do a decktech with Patrick Sullivan and name drop the FoS into that. And then he'd autograph my deck.

would it be blasphemy to cut some number of mortars for weirds (2-2 split)? Weirds stonewall while mortars are just 1-1 someone. I've always liked going around smiters or over them rather than burning them (bc i love me building some board states), so that's my suggestion for a best of both worlds.
Bc yeah being able to deck tech stonewright, weirds, and hounds would be a freakin awesomeness

Got back from court.
A deal has been offered to my ex but not accepted yet. They'll drop charges down to a misdemeanor parental interference, suspended execution of sentence with two years of probation, no contact except what has been court ordered, mandatory counseling, and parenting classes. I wasn't happy with it at first, but it's probably the best we can expect.

I'd suggest playing Gruul Khaos, though mono-Khaos would be a better deck name to submit for the red deck.
I just think Gruul is a better deck. However, depending on how well you can sideboard with it, it's probably better to just run your deck since you know it in and out and have a good handle of how all the matchups play.
If you do have a good handle on gruul though, just play that. I've won enough games vs. all gambits of decks that it doesn't even feel like I have bad matchups anymore. Just be ready to play against a decent chunk of control decks. I have a creeping suspicion that the "Big Three" decks of the tourney are going to be Naya Midrange, Esper Control, and Gruul Aggro among archetypes, though I would expect naya and esper to perform less well then UWR and Jund for whatever that's worth.

Gruul has just been so fun and explosive. I still need temple gardens before I can even play it, so that is a factor.
Granted, I know my KDW better than any other deck I could pick up but ultimately, I think I'll make my decision based on how I'm feeling tomorrow when I register. Like a true Red Mage.
I leave to go to Miami in an hour or so. I'll keep you guys updated.

Protection from non-global red/black removal is still a huge middle finger in our general direction.
This Standard's
Kor Firewalker.
or
Paladin en-vec, I guess.

It's much better than both of those things. Lifelink is horribly relevant in this meta.
This effectively ends blitz decks. It's also a huge kick in the dick to Jund.
