If you don't see hamfactorial as scum, and you don't like DroppinSuga's vote, then how come you aren't voting DroppinSuga? Why are you keeping your useless RVS vote on imopen2?
I'm sorry, I didn't know I was allowed to only suspect one person. my apologies.
@ Pie - Suga tends to do these drop-in, vote, wander-off things regularly. Do you not like it for that reason, or have you spotted something else there?
rez's vote seems logical from his POV, C_P is confirmed town. Suga's vote seems worse.
What's new about the Suga's vote? :roll eyes:

If he gave an in-depth reason; I would be suspicious then.

@rcwraspy, I don't live in Dallas yet. My background check with DPD is still in process of being completed. Still have to do the medical and psych exam.
This is stopping you how?
I could get hired by Border Patrol (already taken exams with the as well) tomorrow as well and have to move again. I have many applications in the works elsewhere to.

As a known mudslinger; that is not mudslinging worth your response given. Anything else you find that points to ham being scum?

Yeah, okay.

hamfactorial's first couple of posts were pretty much the definition of active lurking, and he's self-conscious in a couple of posts. -There is absolutely nothing there that will contribute to getting us out of RVS, and I think he knows it.

Also, fencesitting.
I can see motivation either way for io2 to talk about C_P being confirmed town, too soon to tell.

Is everyone interpreting [url=http://diestoremoval&
#46;com/viewtopic.php?p=214939#p214939]this post[/url] as self-conscious? I was in the middle of antagonizing CM, stirring up shit to see what fell out. He leaned on me about active lurking, so I was loading up on the sarcasm, implying that my lurking was passive.

Also, fuck, you guys are really sensitive about your proper mafia etiquette. Why can't I talk shit during RVS?

Notice that some players get actively annoyed when I post bullshit. A scum player is happy to let you guys pile on me while casting a vote or two, or just staying out of it. DroppinSuga and Jack have stayed out of it, so I'm suspicious of them.

InflatablePie says he doesn't see me as scum, but doesn't like Suga's vote very much. Is Pie scum? Is Suga his buddy? Public distancing in the early game is a useful scum tactic.

Pie + Suga + Jack scum team? gg game broken I'm town MVP

@Ham

I'm not comfortable tying people together as scumbuddies this early on day one in a closed setup. -Get me an alignment flip or two and then I'll start looking back at ties.

Really don't like you proposing InflatablePie+DroppingSuga+Jack as a scum team, then not voting for any of them. Especially when picking off someone who hasn't posted once as scum - lets you avoid accountability for reads.

Really don't like.

:shrug: if you've already read me as scum, you'll find reasons to continue onward with that alignment.

What accountability does a game of mafia have? When you lynch me and I flip town, nobody is going to go "oh no, we killed our friend! I must be punished, lynch me next. I am ashamed"

He's said nothing, if he's even checked into the thread at all. When I'm scum, I like to grab some popcorn and watch the townies fight each other on day 1.

Ok Rez, Ham is getting aggressive and defensive. If he had just moved on and ignored Cursed_Pride; I would have firmly placed him as town. Now I am unsure.

Jack REALLY needs to post or I vote him tonight.

I'm here! While these posts from ham are very enjoyable, I don't think we'll get much out of them by pressuring him all Day. He's very self-aware, but otherwise, there's nothing scummy about his posts. In my only other game with him, he was scum, and not very active. I'm pretty sure he was the same way in Theros (didn't really follow that one, jus glanced at the thread occasionally). So I don't really know what these kinds of responses indicate.

Yeah, I lurked a bit last night and thought of posting, but then remembered how I usually wake up to a ton of accusations when I do that. So I'll try to remember not to open my mouth after 11.

A very plausible theory, but I am concerned that Rez is playing aggressive scum and bullying Ham as he would know Ham gets emotional (much like Zem in his own way).

ham's past actions as town are comparable to his actions in this game, so i tend to believe he's probably town. at this point, i'm not getting any really good reads.

@hamfactorial

(All the pretty colors.)

This is delving into more mafia theory than anything else, but.

One of the key facets of scumhunting is to make people commit to opinions, and hold them accountable for them.

Town actually wants to pressure people, generate reactions and use the only real tool that they have in order to do so - their vote. -Town has no fear of of being held
accountable for their vote, and their actions, because they're town.

Scum want to leave options open for later -and therefore not commit to anything.

Committing to something, and being held accountable to it, makes you more readable, and more prone to showing a scum mindset.

Why do you propose a scumteam, and leave your RVS vote on Captain Murphy, which.. doesn't do anything?

Posted: Sun Apr 13, 2014 3:10 am
by hamfactorial
I wasn't aware of my vote, I set it during RVS and I'm more concerned with not getting mislynched day 1. If I had a strong scum read on any one of those 3, I'd vote for him or her.

If leaving a RVS on is such a giant fuck-up, here you go

Can someone give me meta on hamfactorial?

Seems like the guy who always looks scummy, which is.. bleh.

I guess I should be more interested in the players who aren't doing anything, thus far.

(Another question: What's with all the passive play? -I'm seeing hamfactorial and DroppingSuga say that "they don't have good scum reads" but not trying to proactively engage in the game - re: ask questions, figure out other's alignments, pressure active lurkers, etc)

Posted: Sun Apr 13, 2014 4:51 am

Ham's meta is that he either lurks hardcore or comes out gunning with sarcasm. The hardcore lurking is more of a tell of his scum game.

Which means that answering your question makes me

@Cursed_Pride, what Rcwraspy said is spot on from the 2 games I played with Ham. The problem is that it leaves a subjective call on whether ham is really town as he is hard to read with sarcasm and passive/lurking posts. Time will tell.

Having time to think about the whole situation, my gut is giving me trouble with Rez. He really pushed Ham with poor evidence that he SHOULD have known better as he has played games with Ham before (Am I correct?). When ham responded with anything, he called it mudslinging and did not even bother to consider Ham's responses beyond defensive reactions. Is Rez normally this pushy with crap evidence? I find his push on Ham was a gamble to get a bandwagon vote and I assume Ham apparently has a history of being pissed about getting day 1 lynched? That play on Ham smells of scum tactics.

Vote Rezombad

After seeing an injury from one in Boy Scouts; I stay the HELL away from Chainsaws. I prefer the Gerber Axe any day.

Will use a chain saw on Mesquite though if no one else will work the chainsaw as that shit is HARD.

@rcwraspy

Interesting that you unvoted immediately after I complained about everyone being too passive.

-Based on recent posts so far, who do you want to lynch today, and why?

If you don't have any real scumreads, you should ask someone a question.

@Wraith

I'm assuming rezombad is talking about the Chainsaw Defense, which basically equates to you defending hamfactorial by attacking rezombad.

You're my strongest town read thus far, though, which is impressive.

Why is imopen scum for making a smart assumption about the night kill wraith? What about his post is scummy?

unvote
are you referring to the Doc game? I am confused. Iamopen2 is a very good player and I have to watch his every post. Why? he speaks ver sarcastically in one, will flip the victim in the next, and lastly gets defensive when targeted. He will always call a post in question from himself sarcasm to avoid suspicion. This is what I have noticed over time.

Why would you come to his defense so quick? You guys scum buddies....AGAIN! Did you not
learn anything from the last game? Cause I can tell you this; I did not learn a damn thing. Still confused as to how Stardust nailed Iamopen2 last game.

@Ham, You lurking again? Do you think Iamopen2 is talking shit or is the shit?
I'm asking what was scummy about his post? I'm not saying he is town or scum, merely asking what reason you thing imopen was scum considering you wanted to break rvs and vote him so badly. It had nothing to do with meta, I disregard all meta

@Ham RVS was over when you were actively lurking, I wouldn't have given a shit about the non game talk if it was still rvs, but it wasn't

And fuck off all the meta that fills every game here, people can change their attitude depending on multiple factors.

- gut feeling: Suga seems town;
- I'm not liking ham BUT he's taking part to the game, I've got mixed feelings about him but I feel like putting additional pressure on him will bring us nowhere;
- rezmo is acting strange, but not strictly scummy;
- Wraith should stop with all his nonsequiturness (new word here!).

Thanks on informing me on the chainsaw quip. Looks like some of you are still questioning Ham on the RVS. RVS is still a mystery to me. Should be called opening statements.

The 2 players that I have leads on as being scummy are Rez and Iamopen2

Iamopen2- leads
He has made a post, but that is somewhat irrelevant. Confirmed town is dead town. Please keep up

Damn Iamopen2. It's like you already are targeting the towny. Is there a game were you don't post scummy day 1-2? Quite telling of your undertone there.

Vote Iamopen2.
Iamopen2 Responds with this
Is there a game where you don't take everything at face value, wraith? Don't answer that.
I left it alone, but the it still bothers me as it could be a scum slip. The slip is "confirmed town is dead town". Why? Is he defending Red? LMD asked a simple question and Iamopen2 attacked the question instead of clarifying it or asking red to clarify. Something smells there.

Rez- leads

Pushing Ham to break with RVS statements when Ham likes to have fun or just use sarcasm here when the best BS RVS to question was Red's statement and Iamopen2's red herring. LMD so far was ignored on a good question. WTH?

Both Iamopen2 and Rez have been just hand waving me off and so far, they are now my strongest scum reads. That has been the norm for them playing scum.

- rezmo is acting strange, but not strictly scummy; Good, I am not the only one, but changes in character is an issue.
- Wraith should stop with all his nonsequiturness (new word here!). You read that
