All you really have for options are whip and edicts, in this case, devour flesh, which feels narrow and bad, but might work since this is modo.

@Kait: Phenax is comparable to Jace memory adept as far as oppressively powerful bombs go. It's just not a fair card. As far as the limited environment in general goes, red seems like the best color by far in BNG. I wouldn't force it, but when it comes to close picks early in the draft, I'd lean towards red and try to draft the aggressive boros and rakdos decks.

How much better is UW devotion vs. UW control. I know it was monoblue, the matchup was easy as shit.

uw devotion is pretty damned annoying. after sideboard i'm not sure who is favored. ephara gives the deck a lot of reach against control.

That's what I thought. Post board, I can see how it would be a problem with them running Bident/Jace/Ephara as draw engines, plus thassa to get ahead on card quality. Ephara, remedies a lot of problems with the deck.

their detention spheres are also very problematic as it is no longer safe to tap out for jace and elspeth

but revoke existence now has like 10 targets in their deck

I'm waffling on the idea of maindecking revoke in UW. Lord knows I've maindecked ancient grudge before.

Won another 8 man so 11 QPS, luckyly destroyed burn with good draw. Noticed key is to throw guys under burn, just play as many BTE as you can turn 2 even without followup, and try to blow their hand with return. Be as fast as possible so I only played 2 doom blades - sometimes 1 or 2 mortars. However whip might be needed.

My current sb: 1 dreadbore, 2 doomblade, 1 ultimate price, 1 fated conflagration, 2 dark betrayals, 2 thoughtseize, 1 slaughter games, 1 chandra, 1 erebos, 1 hammer, 1 rakdos return, 1 sire of insanity.

Need to cut 1 card for whip as imo it is needed, however dont know what to cut. probably 1 removal spell, question is which one?

What does the conflagration come in against?

Also, can you post the UW prison list you plan to run? I've been running white prison but a blue splash sounds nice

Like WSZ, revelations as mana sinks, idyllic tutor for tutorin (probably would play more important 1 ofs in md such as 1 rest in peace as it is quite good in md. Detention sphere is solid upgrade over o-ring, dunno about chalice but looks powerful.

As for fated conflagration it is another way to kill obzedat or reaper of the wild, hits also dragons and polukranoses, slot over mortars.

Maybe the dreadbore? It's hard to decide without your full list...

@LP: Depending on the event and your ranking MODO's skill level can be really high - though I agree if you want to beat Hexproof with RB Devotion, Boros Reckoner and Sac effects are your best bets.

Corpt is ok, he was the most aggressive mod on sally until he got demoted. He is def. better then the avg player though I wouldn't count him as a top tier grinder (that said he is ranked 66).

btw nice stuff Jedi and Pedro you both almost hit top150 (if you can maintain they we can all play in the finals) though I wonder how many places I'll drop from now till the end of the week from not playing @_@ still 44 though.
