That was not intended as a jab and was mostly me just reflecting on my weekend.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

So i've been tinkering with the "mind seize" deck, and jevela just can't compare to nekusar. Underworld dreams + howling mime on a replayable stick is great, plus I can fireball the whole table with prosperity/skyscribing (with awesome new art on Skyscribing). Jevela has a super cute ability (that goes well with all the spell copying that comes in the deck). So going down the everyone draws cards hole. I've got howling mine, horn of greed, words of wisdom, underworld dreams and what came in the box, any other thoughts?

thanks to nbw for the sig.
You do need to try to gay it up a little more.

You're like the least gay member of this clan.

And that's counting the fact that you voluntarily have sex with men.

Friend recently bought the grixis deck and me and the buddies played 2HG commander tonight(me borrowing a khalia deck). His jeleva deck is comboey. Play her with lim duls vault to fix your turn. EOT, mystical tutor an extra turn spell. Go from there.

Anyone know how I can get some THS sealed practice online outside of DEs? For some reason 8 mans are phantom only and you get no packs for those events.
You can play 4-Booster Sealed, which is what I do sometimes for fun and random QPs (you can find them in the limited tab).

Johnny Spike,

The best advice I can give you is to just play the cards you want to play. Wanna play with some Dragons? Then play some muthafuckin' Dragons! Still love Ashley? Then jam with her. Ignore what's going on around DTR/SCG/CFB and play your favorite cards. Just play them as well as you can.

This may not sound like the best advice, but it's been working for me since States. My deck doesn't really look like anything you'll find around here, or pretty much anywhere, but it's mine. Every win I take is mine. Every loss I take is mine. And at the end of the day, I choose which direction to take it. I modify it in anticipation of my local meta. You'd laugh your ass off if you actually saw my sideboard. But the thing is, my method has been working. It's nothing to brag about, but it works and I'm having fun.

nAt the same time, I understand what it likes to be so burnt out from something that you have to step away in order for it to become fun again. If Magic is causing too many headaches, then by all means, take a break. It'll still be there when you want to come back......unlike filthy strippers....

Anyways, buddy, I hope that helps.

Problem with four booster sealed is that it's not six booster sealed which is what the ptq will be. No use practicing an entirely different format.

One of the twins decided to take off his diaper and shit all over our bedroom carpet this morning. That was a nice start to the day.

Listen, everyone that has a trade thread in the Restricted section with absolutely no cards on it (yes, people have made trade threads and not bothered to put a list of either "haves" or "wants"), it's time to do that. I need to get some random-ass shit for EDH and I don't want to have to buy these cards if I can just trade for them.

Also, if you don't have a trade thread at all. Make one. Unless you don't have anything I need. In which case you can do whatever.

That is all.

I think I did the best I could with what I had.
I mentioned this in another thread, but here it is again. Sometimes lady fate blesses you with her caresses, and sometimes she flips you the finger. The trick is knowing when it was variance and when it was your play skills. The trap is always blaming it on variance. It doesn't sound like you're doing that, but be careful of it all the same. That kind of thinking can become a habit.

As others have said, play what you know and play what you like. Above all, play to have fun. My thinking is that I'm 42 and playing a game based on monsters and magic. If I can't have fun with it, then what's
the point of playing?

That's kind of the point of the trade thread and pretty much what I was asking people to do.

Right now your particular "trade" thread is:
1. Space reserved.
2. Oh yeah, I want these 3-4 cards.

On another note, I'm completely exhausted. I'm on my 9th day straight at work and ready to just give out. I get my day off tomorrow. I can't wait. Maybe I'll actually get to finish my Storm primer....

I really wanted a clever play on 'Red Deck Wins' but I couldn't think of anything that didn't end in 'weekly' and I'm not going to be making weekly submissions (probably monthly).

I like UWR Delver. Then again I like a lot of Legacy decks. Just wish there was a Legacy scene here.
Yeah, most legacy decks are a blast to play at least once. Even Belcher is awesome to mow through people for a while.

It's a shame they have Kirk where Picard should be.
Amen. Picard> :grovel:
Kirk lost my attention with all the crappy commercials.

@Windstrider- Have you checked out the Catalytic Conversters? The corn ethynal is really hard on the cats which creates a nasty gum that
causes stalling (air can't pass through the little beads). I have a Nissan Titan that had that issue and was going to replace them for $2,000 or more. Tried other fixes such as a pinch of AV gas, Firing the cats (poking a whole and heating them up to drain the gum), using high test with gum out, and finally Marbal Mystery oil every fuel up. It works fine now but I had to pull the check engine light as it would not go away due to low cat effiency code. The cats read perfect with the sniffer though, and think the cause is not using Nissan spark plugs replacements. I am not a mechanic, but trying not to spend $2,000 or more will motivate you learn. Also, try and call in on a radio car show for some advice and get diagnoses from multiple repair guys for better answers. You can have an honest car repairman convention in a gas station restroom, thus be careful on exploritory repair.

I replaced the catalytic on my old 87 honda accord, and I didn't know shit about cars.

The desire to save money really does help out with a learning curve.

I found myself REALLY wanting a playset of Scalding Tarn and Arid Mesa, but OMG at the pricetag. Then I remembered that I had over 6000 points of Dark Angels that have been sitting in my closet for the past two years. That ought to be enough to cover the cost...
