I actually don't hate the French. They did give us guillamo wafo-tapa so we can always have our control decks built properly. But fuck the French.

Brits are awesome though. Best motherfuckers to drink with.

My whole family is from Quebec and I should be a dual citizen so I don't feel bad saying it. The Quebecois are some nasty motherfuckers. The women are gorgeous, but I'd like to punch pretty much every man.

I'm 1/4th French FYI.

Just saying, the following people are American:
- Travis Woo;
- Cedric Phillips; and
- Todd Anderson.

For shame gentleman. This is what the land of the free does. The French would guillotined those human turds.

The smell of french cigarettes is enough to make me vomit. Add that in with the fact that 99.9% of the men wear the same cologne and it's a smell I'll never forget.
They drive like assholes.
They are impolite dicks.
They're "too cool" to speak English, even when they know how.

@Helios
My knowledge is based on past. I've worked for a bit at computer store, I was also doing some PCs for friends.
In terms of speakers - have you ever heard fucking HP? You can get hurt by the noise. Let it be pro Lansing's speakers or Beats audio. They are always one step ahead.
And my thesis on HP works whenever you touch any of their low/middle-class laptop. They have terrible ideas on coolers and power to make CPU/GPU work properly. Like covering metal cooler with black-mat paint. It's not based on single model - I'm actually a fan of HP and I not only had two HPs, but I also often reccomend them to people who want to have powerhouse laptops. I don't mind having my leg burned as long as I have good PC for good money.
Apple is used only in graphics business. Screens are godlike, quality is godlike. But besides of that? Stop fucking kidding me. But I'm european - so fuck Mac.
Also, don't ya think you are
paying a lil bit too much for the quality of Asus? Hell, just compare them to Lenovo. That's why I said that. I know those laptops are rock solid, okay? It's just, they are not made out of gold or something.

@French
I'm polish, what is this shit.

That video where he lectured people on monetizing their hobbies was particularly offensive. He's a part time magic writer, part time division 3 high school basketball coach. Living the dream!

I don't actually watch woo's streams. To be fair, Adrian Sullivan was playing Sledghammer red at the end of Scars/Delver block, so who stole what is really a moot point.

I think people get to caught up with claiming credit for things.

Asus makes good machines, the Zenbook was my first choice. I actually bought one and then returned it because the bottom plate had warped, then Apple came out with an Air that had the same specs + better battery life + $200 cheaper + 3-year warranty. Needless to say, I was sold. Still wouldn't hesitate to purchase any of the higher-end ASUS though, they make solid product.

Re: Stealthbomber laptop: Those things go against the entire point of a laptop. If you're going to seriously game, you just have to buy a desktop. You'll never get the same reliability from those things because heat (and the battery) will constantly be a factor.
I wasn't clear...crazy at it may seem, I don't GAME on the thing that much. Look at my screen name...I spend a
significant part of most days working with images in Photoshop/Lightroom/Painter, and this is for me basically a portable desktop-level machine. And as I said, it also has the raw power to work in video production software, which my kids do and which lesser machines cannot handle without choking.

Being a photo guy, I do have to admit that Mac makes a compelling product, but they turned me off waaayyy back when by locking down their architecture and making it so that I could build a PC than ran circles around them for a fraction of the price. I know that Apple is now working at being competitive, but their old business practices soured me on them, and I STILL prefer to be able to tinker with my machines and put what I want in them. I don't begrudge anyone their Macs, but I don't ever see myself going that route.

Need a good gruul two-drop. Experimenting on Jon Sterns Gruul beats deck, but I don't want to play sylvan caryatid and instead am looking to add Ghor-clan rampager and...some good gruul 2 drop. The only thing non-embarrassing that's coming to mind is the guildmage since he's not a terrible topdeck and is a reasonable manasink.
COME TO MAH THREAD BROTHER

Guildmage is the shit. Have you trampled over elspeth soldiers? Instead of plants you could always 2-2 split witchstalker skarrg guildmage. Or just go the experiment one route who just gets shit in by thoughtseize in my experience, so I've strayed away from him.

Id recommend shaving some of the topend if you're taking the ramp out. that or go up to 25 lands, for srs.

Grats on the shoutout, James! Good to see you getting recognized.

photo: Makes sense, that's probably one of the better use cases for it. Re: Macs, part of the reason CS people buy the (pre-retina) Mac Pros is that they're some of the only laptops around that you can actually upgrade- my boss has had one for 5 years, and it's on-par with most machines around today. Re: Desktops, well, yes. You can always build your own desktop for cheaper than any other manufacturer, not just Apple. You're paying for the hardware quality, build quality, warranty, and form factor you get from something like an iMac. The warranty was what really drove the laptop purchase home for me, knowing that if my laptop even gets rained on in the next 3 years Apple will replace it? Seems great.

Oh, also the prime item to consider in a streaming laptop is a dedicated GPU. Most laptops integrate GPU functions into the motherboard, but integrated cards share resources. You want your GPU to be the only item on its power rail, have discrete RAM, and driver support for your GPU capture / broadcasting software of choice is good too.

The rest is gravy.

Unless you need fixins in an enterprise environment, I wouldn't worry too much about vendor. Like car maintenance, the "dealership warraty" crap is all a sham. You should anticipate buying replacement parts online and doing the work yourself / paying someone for labor IMO.

Lenovo would be my first choice among all mentioned brands, followed by Apple only if my expenses are comped. Why: Lenovo's functional builds appeal to me. Most consumer-grade laptops are congested architecturally with media functions and other doo-hickies.

If portability isn't a
priority to you I would also suggest just building your own laptop. The arhitecture will be less streamlined than any propritary design, but it's cheaper and a learning experience.. You can make a high-quality machine with a few hours of research and price-shopping.

...and this is why Nuwen is awesome.

(Though Lenovo, Apple, and Asus all have good warranties. You basically want to make sure they have an "accident protection" clause, though it always costs extra. The base warranty is shit, of course)

The origin of america's france hatred is, according to one of my history professors, inherited from our british cultural ancestry. The failure of france to go along with bush reinforced this preexisting cultural hatred. The later revelation of bush's bullshit should have vindicated them, but americans are pretty goddamn stupid.

I'm inclined to think she's the reason Fate can function in normal society. Like imagine if it was just him alone. Instead of typing, he'd probably just smash the keyboard repeatedly, be angry that it didn't produce the desired result, then cook over the ensuing flames.

I never understood the stereotype that the French are cowards/bad at war or whatever. For one they had the era of Napoleon (i know he wasn't French but still).

They also kicked all sorts of ass in WWI, and showed the Americans how to fight. They rolled over in WWII because WWI killed an entire generation of French men because most of WWI was fought on their soil, at least on the western front.

For reference I'm American and hate British culture for some reason, I'm not really sure why.
