Kaitscralt is my gamer handle, and after Madding kept getting banned for corrupt reasons I decided to shed my MTGS skin and begin using a new name.

before you ask, I watched in awe when Khaddafi made that inspiring speech in his rubbled palace telling the whole youth of his country had been collectively drugged by Al-Qaeda, and that the UN sanctions were invalid.

At that point, iridium was already engineering the Final Solution for the Gutter, so I just put the Khaddafi Avvy in my ( N_S ) account and changed my CT to "Your sanctions are invalid" and started a rampage of CI articles discussing moral bankruptcy and detailing why the iridium sanctions were invalid. Then in the early summer I had to do a work-trip to Burkina-Faso just the other side of the Sahara. That country has historically always been a huge
supporter of Khaddafi, and it turned out that I was strolling on Khaddafi avenue in a bus when the radio announced that Khaddafi had been shot dead (I posted about it in the Auschwitz Gutter). I was then banned a few days after iirc.

A little more than a year later, Lybia is a big mess with militias rampaging all over the country. On the internet, iridium is continuously haunted by the ghost of Khaddafi past and I've been told by reliable sources that the amount of gimmickry, Internet raids, and general shitting and trolling on the site has increased significantly.

What this means in essence is that I take much pride in my born-again Internet persona in a way similar to what Kait described.

First it was cowards and scumbags, then it was internet terrorists. Curiously it was all the doings of Arcadic.

The day we will monetize this dump, the first line of order will be to hire an Internet historian and provide him with all our dossiers so he can write a decent wiki with all the relevant links (including to the internet archive who actually keeps many threads that iridium has frantically tried to erase from Internet memory).

I'm contacting you because I'm seeing a huge problem with your clan. In the last few days you've been dogpiling on a user, now you're posting negatively and going after mods. This has to stop. Clans is a relaxed place and we don't want battles in there (especially external battles). Right now, we are considering closing the clan down for a while(kind of like a clan Suspension), but I decided it was best to talk to you before acting.
We never closed down a clan in this way, but we're willing to do it if your attitude doesn't change. What happens in other parts of the site is a seperate matter that I'm not here do discuss right now, but bringing anything like that into clans is not tolerated and I want to be sure that everyone undestands that.
What are you actually trying to accomplish & want to be able to do with your clan?

I think where the story becomes juicy and a good showcase of some traits of human nature it is the specific part about the sale to curse, how it gave a great deal of the staff an inflated sense of importance (although they are a bunch of nobodies in the grand scheme of things, just as the gutter), how some people got so delusional and (again with an inflated sense of self importance) that they equated leaks about some supa secret internet website sale to "internet terrorism", and basically how sleazily everyone behaved (iridium and Curse reps alike) lying like there was no tomorrow and then getting buttmad over leaks of mod lounge posts that proved they were lying. At the end we are talking about people who are not even paid for doing their jobs getting so self-righteous and delusional
that they will not falter at lying or deceiving in order to enforce the agenda their new owners wanted applied (including driving out people they felt hurt the PG-13 status of the site like the Gutter, FoS and others), just to keep their internet magical cards website moderator/admin tag.

Also the assassinations of character were quite hilarious. In the banned thread it states I've been banned for taking "malicious actions against the website" (plus staff calling me a scumbag in an open thread where I could not even defend myself on the grounds of being banned), the malicious actions having been announcing on a private thread (the Gutter) that the site was going to be sold to Curse. Since people made it so much of a point to label me as an internet terrorist scumbag, I ended up reclaiming the label

I think Thrillho put it eloquently somewhere over here in the past when he said something the likes of &

Actually, all of the modded Gutter members (N_S, Madding, G_R, Kijin, myself) had a pretty decent rapport with the userbase and worked to improve our individual subforums quite a bit before we quit / were forced out.

There were other casualties: Manders got fired after publicly posting harassing PMs from Rianalnn in the Gloves thread, Pendulum quit when the staff started getting less and less transparent, Viricide quit when the Lapdog was made admin, etc.

Scumbag says it best here. At least most of us realize that our overall contributions to the internet are meaningless whereas some Iridium mods feel that they're on some great moral quest against "mean posts" in favor of "forum decency". Hell, there was a guy who used to hang out in the Gutter /
The Gang (before the clan was retired) and he really wanted to fit in. Sadly, after being given a mod tag, he came to turn against us in an epic fit of hypocrisy. To put his newfound internet anger in perspective, he unfriended my banned account on Sally months after I'd been banned. That sure showed me.
