Watch them run, watch them fall...
watch them try to catch a ball, Olympics...
Special Olympics....

Watch them laugh, watch them drool....
Watch them fall into the pool; that's diving!
At the Special Olympics...

And I know full well, that I will burn in hell,
but those guys playing wheelchair basketball have got to be about the funniest friggin thing I've ever seen in my life...
At the Special Olympics...

Kid with downs, wins the race...
even though he stood in place, Olympics...
Special Olympics...

Round his neck, gold medals hung,
resting on his giant tongue, Olympics...
Special Olympics...

But I kid when I sing,
cause these games are a beautiful thing.
Okay, really, I'm just avoiding karma because I know my children could be born crippled and blind and somehow retarded enough to spend all my time....
at the Special Olympics.

Serious question for once :o

What do y'all think is better suited to the metagame at this point, PyroRakis or Dos Rakis? Or just staying PyroDragons?

I'm spoiled for choice :stupid:

MJ vs some guy. MJ plays Boros Reckoner on turn three and passes. Opponent's turn three, casts BTE.

MJ: "BTE? BTE into Mortars here seems terrible."
Opponent: "BTE2, BTE3, Nykthos, activate Nykthos for six, Stormbreath Dragon, swing 4.
MJ: "Wait, what? Is this happening? Did that just happen?"

Tajic is a pretty good card, I don't understand why people still think he's bad. Yeah, being a 2/2 is tough, but we're not living in a format where he can die to anything.

No, Im not saying its a bad card, it's just not something you expect that stonewall's your entire deck. Besides that isn't what beat me, it was drawing all four spark troopers that broke me.

Just got finished playing pathfinder (normally play 3.5, but if I don't have to DM i'm not going to complain). I found a weapon in the pfsrd called the battle ladder, and that became the focus of my character, Bob the builder beating people to death mercilessly with my ladder.

What do you like about 3.5 more than PF? As someone who has played since AD&D I have found Pathfinder to be vastly superior to all.

Pathfinder core is better than 3.5 core, the problem is that late 3.5 did a lot to fix it's early issues regarding balance that made pathfinder's
changes seem mild. ToB brought so much to fix the linear fighter quadratic caster problem that it should practically be considered core (it fixes things far more than pathfinder). Pathfinder bandaids some minor issues and ignores the bigger problems. It's not really an improvement so much as new spin.

Also I own a huge stack of 3.5 books, not letting them go to waste

I actually legitimately enjoy both of them. I had to run 4th at Coolstuff since we were WPN sanctioned, and it was alright. Having all of your information available to you in the form of ability cards was nice, and it took away a lot of the memorization that was involved for the DM. (Or that awkward "Hang on, what does that do?")

Next is cool, we played some of the early precanned stuff and it was alright. Not polished at all, but that's what beta is for.

I felt like 4E adventures were written less like a fluid course of events and more like a linear series of one encounter leading into another. Like DMs didn't have to think as much anymore. But that's speaking from a play style where I like to build settings and plots around my PCs and then let them dictate pretty much every course of action as we go. More organic than structured. I'm also only judging it on the prewritten adventures I've had my hands on. So there's likely nothing keeping me frm running 4E my own way. It's just, like Darth said, I already own this huge stack of 3.x books...

I'm also very attached to my nostalgia, so I am heavily biased. #THAC0S4LYFE

I'm not really a big believer in new editions of RPGs. When one I play is given a new edition I don't think "hey a new version to play", I instead think "hey, now I know for sure how many books I have left to collect". Considering how much I hate PF, 4e, next, and new world of darkness I am fairly certain that you can't go changing something I like and expect me to still like it. I still play 2e D&D from time to time, and it's a lot of fun (mostly planescape, birthright, and spelljammer), but without those awesome settings that are hard to port over it seems like 3.5 fixed the glaring issues with 2e, namely math, customizability, and intrasystemic consistency.

Yeah, I just had about 8 "your mom" jokes loaded up in response to that when I realized that it would be entirely too easy and show little or no creativity. It's almost like you were baiting them, and if that's the case I most especially can not allow my self to take that bait, as tempting as it may be.

On Monday my boss told me to come in and work Wednesday (my day off) because he wasn't going to be in that day and he wanted me to take Thursday off. Then he bitched all day yesterday about me not working Thursday.

What the fucking fuck. Only at Wal-Mart/Sam's Club can you get yelled at for doing what you're told to do.
