Do you watch DBZ Abridged? That shit is hilarious. This seriously is one of my favorite anime scenes ever. In an anime that's been 99% diluted for the five-year-old-Americans that get targeted by most of Funimation's rehashings, an antagonist finally has the idea of just punching someone straight in the dick. I saw this movie when I was like 12 and it was the best thing ever.

In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.

In any 3.x D&D variant monks are kinda sucky, there is a tradition on giant in the playground's 3.x forums called monkday. Any posts on about monks on monkday are handled normally, anyother day of the week they get mocked (to the limlits of that very heavily moderated forum) and then dealt with. Monks have 2 major glaring issues. The first is MAD (multiple attribute dependency), in that they require a fairly decent score in almost every stat but charisma, even int should at least be 12 if you are a human (due to the need for skills), then you need strength for accuracy and damage, dexterity for certain skills and making up for the fact that you can't wear armor, constitution to make up for your low hit die, and wisdom for your class abilities. The other issue is that monk's class abilities are all over the place and fairly non-synergystic, for example flurry of blows requires you to not move, thus being a nonbo with
all of the mobility enhancing abilities, and any combination of them can be done more effectively by a cleric. Pathfinder does little to rectify this, they do offer a slight fix to the fact that monks are a "combat class" that only has a 3/4BAB (though just giving monk full BAB would have done the job). Honestly monk gives you a lot of abilities that let you fight almost as good unarmed and unarmored as you could armed and armored. Even fighters laugh at monks (and beat them into a bloody paste with their actual weapons while the monks weak blows glance ineffectually off of their actual armor). Monks fail to meet their design goals pretty hard in any modestly optimized group. If you like the flavor of monks look up swordsages, they make better ninjas than the ninja class, better monks than the monk class, and they can do a decent impression of a rogue while being much better at cutting bitches down. Warblade is in the same book, and it's
probably the most manly class ever devised, so manly that female warblades end up growing a penis as an "unlisted class feature".
Started playing a more regular pathfinder game last night (the one I brough up earlier was a one shot at a shop I rarely go to). Playing a guisarme tripper fighter, and i'm out doing people with guns. Of course out of 9 people i'm the only non-elf, so that might explain half of my ass kicking.

There's a difference between 'bad' and 'not targeted at your demographic.' For the obvious example, take Twilight, if I come within 20' of it I break out in explosive vomit, but I still can't say that a book/movie series that made millions (and introduced a whole new generation of young women to the joys of wanting to plow the fuck out of cosplay nerds) is "bad."Like any entertainment medium it's mostly bad with a few standouts. Anyone want to argue that most movies, television or music are not bad?

These cards are not realistic in a format where even the combo decks are based around creatures.Running MUC with 4 Repeal and 4 Exclude.

Ok, time to play it. I bought the cards to test but played Modern instead like an ass. Time to grind tix! We don't share a timezone, so the tyranny of Pauper MUC will reign continuously. These cards are not realistic in a format where even the combo decks are based around creatures.Running MUC with 4 Repeal and 4 Exclude.

I started out a blue mage, until 8th edition's lack counterspell made rethink some things, started playing a lot of RG and RB, eventually realizing that I should have been a red mage all along.
And in pauper exclude is fan-fucking-tastic, considering the preponderance of creatures it's a discount dismiss.
On a tangential note, am I the only one who thinks dismiss is better than rewind? Don't think I don't appreciate the power of freespells, but the reason that they were good is because they left countermana open, thus the free counter is the most meh of the cycle. I realize it leaves mana open for instant draw spells, but I think you take my meaning. Dismiss on the other hand is card advantage.

Strictly speaking yes, but I think you will find the results less than impressive. I've pretended the same thing with molten influence, and if I wasn't running a fairly burn focused list it would have been disastrous. I really miss pre-"double standard" extended. Can I play bad cards like Mana Tithe and pretend I'm playing control?

I did rip an Oona's Grace on turn 12 though, which then immediately took over the game.
Deprive + Oona's Grace + Preordain is such an unbeatable endgame.

My list is about $40, though you may already have a bunch of the cards if you've been on MTGO for a while. I feel my list is a substantial improvement over the "stock" version running Accumulated Knowledge, Miscalculation and Prohibit (I run Think Twice, full playsets of Exclude and Deprive with 2 Essence Scatter. Games go super long so the actual hard counter is SO much better than the soft-counter; Prohibit has a LOT of bad matchups, I think it is just bad actually; AK is only better than Think Twice when you hit all 4; any other draw and Think Twice is better). How many tickets is the muc deck? It intrigues me.
Also, I'm building Tempo Twin in Modern.
I am now 28-2 with 4 x 3-0 in 8-mans. Deck = ridiculous.

Mono blue is way cheaper to put together than burn. I just priced my pauper burn deck in paper (via tcgplayer) and it came out just shy of $60 after running cart optimizer. I think that defeats the purpose of pauper just a little bit, though to be fair more than half of that is chain lightning. Given it's red it probably costs even more on MODO.

There's a full SB guide in my primerThat's awesome. I know nothing about pauper. What are the Arrows for? I get the Hydroblasts for Kiln and Delver.

Just remember you can pick them back up with Repeal >:)
Repeal is the most busted card in the deck. Faced UB Control and unsummoned my Delver against removal 3 times in one game. Tears of unfathomable sadness.
