I cracked a foil DRS and a Jace in the same pack (from the holiday box).

I sold the DRS for $26 because that's what it was on SCG. It's going for $65 now :(

windstrider - tell her to slow down. My wife was doing clinicals while she was pregnant with our twins so it was really rough on her. She started having minor contractions halfway through the pregnancy and we had to go so far as to cut off sex entirely until she delivered (that was a real downer). She actually went into premature labor at 30 weeks then again at 33 when she delivered, and was on her feet all the time with clinicals which I'm sure expedited the process.
I keep telling her to slow down, but I might as well be telling a tornado to take it easy. She can be a bit stubborn at times. Must be that redhead thing.

I'm being a bit selfish in not wanting her to go into labor this soon. I'm looking forward to the dinner at Jerry's and
the masquerade event on Saturday since I'll get to spend time with a certain lady friend of mine (with my wife's knowledge and consent, of course). :o

I've actually been sitting here with the power out for about an hour. Just sitting in my living room with the light I use to check stuff in my car because I have no fucking idea what to do with myself sans electricity. How far we have come, indeed.

I'm just waiting for my phone to die and the zombies to finish me off.

Yeah. Or 2/2 Mulldrifter beats. I've been killing people all week with Sea Gate Oracle. It doesn't matter how slow your clock is if you have everything and your opponent has nothing.

Or you could just play [card]Ulamog's Crusher[/card]. Or Hand of Emrakul.

You probably want to be in green in some capacity for Ancient Stirrings and Crop Rotation.

It's only ever been uncommon in a non-expert set (Modern Masters) and even so, that doesn't matter. If it was ever printed at common, it's legal, a la Goblin Grenade. (Which was printed at common in Fallen Empires, but was uncommon in every other printing.)

Green has:
- sylvan scrying
- ancient stirrings
- reap and sow

The difficulty with green is turning mana into resources; blue is much better at that.

Blue isn't even that great at it in pauper. Having no X draw spells is lame. Ideally you'd probably want to play either huge creatures or X spells. I can't think of any X spells in pauper off of the top of my head, but I'm sure there has to be one.

UG tron is probably better than UB, or even GB.

Between Expedition Map, Reap and Sow, Ancient Stirrings, and Crop Rotation, I find it hard to imagine ever getting color screwed. Sylvan Scrying isn't in Pauper though.

There is a replicate spell for 1U that's name escape me. But yeah, enormous mana is pointless if you can't turn it into resources; trying to kill someone with a huge burn spell isn't a good plan A.

Train of Thought. Yeah, I forgot about that card. The problem with that though is that you have to have a U for every corresponding colorless, making the tron lands pretty pointless.

Alright, think I've got my tribal barbs list done... Will make a thread in the clan area in a few, (I keepy forgetting thats a thing now e.e)

First list is the one I like:

[deck]Barbarian Tribal v2[/deck]
reminds me of the tribal warriors decks I was running in casual (and a version of it at one standard event) a while back. I was inspired by [
card]boldwyr intimidator[/card] and the epic line of reminder text "cowards can't block warriors. Dear gods was futuresight fun.

[Deck]
Dudes
4 bright hearth banneret
4 mogg war marshal
4 mudbrawler cohort
2 bloodmark mentor
4 keldon halberdier
4 gathan raiders
2 lovissa coldeyes
2 boldwyr intimidator

Burn
4 brute force
4 rift bolt
4 incinerate
1 disintegrate

Land
17 mountain
4 keldon megaliths
[/deck]

Probably should have cut a land, but with no one drop creatures and 4 etbt lands I think it seems right. Bloodmark mentor was fun and cute, but getting 2 of him was unacceptable. The singleton disintegrate was just force of habit, any deck that even touched on red I used to put in at least 1 x-burn as a back up plan. There were numerous variations (the pre-lorwyn version was terrible).

Oh my god, why have I never heard of this card before? That rule text makes me excited in ways it shouldn't

I digress though... I was actually thinking of making a few downgrades to the barbarian list, just for price reasons, since I want to have the deck for playing around, but I can't afford to drop the 35/40 bucks for it (seriously, why the hell is that pile so expensive?)

I might end up stealing some of the spells you use, just as place holders :P

It's fun explaining to sliver players that while muscle sliver gives all slivers +1/+1, he doesn't get bonus because he's a coward.

Or when you see a lone heedless one, he actually dies to the ability (actually happened in a game though it might have actually been jagged-scar archers, but it works the same either way).

Also changelings are all cowards all the time.

See, I'm starting to fall in love with too many cards. I want to use this guy in a deck, but I don't wanna change my barbarians deck...

It's beginning to get really tempting to literally just make a deck that's just 4-ofs of all my favorite cards, and a bunch of mountains (since most of them are red).

Was speaking of the intimidator straight up changes your multiple types to singular coward cause then, all rats just die...from cowardice.

Also, why the fuck hasn't CFB's orzhov deck picked up steam? It plays 3 of the best cards in standard('vault, thoughtseize, soldier of the pantheon) and spear of heliod factually kills people off the top all the time.

Just make a deck with one ofs your favorite cards. Singleton is fun like that. My elf EDH deck started out as just a pile of all my favorite elves, and I went to one each because 1) i'm cheap, and 2) couldn't decide what to keep and what to cut. I also have a non-commander snake highlander deck that's a ton of fun with a father, a mother, a son, and a daughter: seshiro the anointed, sakiko, mother of summer, sosuke, son of seshiro, and sachi, daughter of seshiro. Yeah I thought that was really cute, though sakiko only got the nod because she has mother in her name, probably not the actual mother of sosuke and sachi.

Also, 2hg shenanigans intimidator allowed my teammate's [card]eyeblight's ending[/card] to kill an imperious perfect. In lorwyn/morningtide limited boldwyr intimidator was way trickier than any red giant has any right to be, and even if just used for his obvious purpose he's pretty good.

Still, it lacks Brave the Elements, which is pretty much the card that let you random wins out of nowhere / survive Anger of the Gods and Mizzium Mortars.
Orzhov traded Boros Charm for Xathrid Necromancer in the first place and that could be ok, but switching BtE for Thoughtseize makes everything a bit less intuitive.

In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.
I rarely skip a Khaospawn wall of text because I know there is always piss at the end of the rainbow.

Why is Stormblood Berserker not a Barbarian? Seriously?
Creature - Human Viking Berserker

KhaosSpawn's new favorite card.
If I was a "balanced" card, this would be it lol

I used to tear people up with this guy in Standard back in the day. T1 Stromkirk Noble or Goblin Fireslinger, swing or ping on Turn 2 and land Berserker after combat. Curve out with Chandra's Phoenix into Hellrider FTW. Those were the days....

This was back when Arc Trail was legal too. I literally won games with only this creature sticking around. I think the only 3
damage kill spells back then were Incinerate, Volt Charge, and Brimstone Volley so he was pretty tough to kill. Well, sometimes he bit it to a morbid Tragic Slip or a Dismember, but hey, whatevs.

I have a soft spot in my heart for Tempest block, but mainly because that's when I first picked up the game at the ripe age of 12, and it was the original print for one of my favorite Magic cards.
You're smarter than other people. Tempest was the best block ever.
An actual conversation a friend and I had in high school.

Him: Yeah but dude Jitte doesn't even give any boosts on its own.
Me: Dude it might as well be "+4/+4" most of the time. The difference is you can choose for it to be other stuff. Versatility is sweet.
Him: I guess lifegain is a little awesome, yeah.
Me: I
think it might be the best part of the card.

I'm not proud of myself.
Kamigawa got me back into Standard after I took a hiatus during the whole Affinity thing. One of the first decks I played against was some janky thing that put counters on permanents and used Jitte as a creature control card. I remember playing against it and thinking "Wow... I bet that card's pretty good in a deck that actually runs creatures that attack."
:stupid:

Turns out, yeah... it's "pretty good."

Degenerate? Sure. Loudmouth? You bet. Law abiding? No ****ing way.

Great guy to have around? Hell yes.
