we'll then have a Socratic discourse to explore the ideas throughout the week.
I tried looking up Socratic discourse on Wikipedia, but I'm going to need a tl;dr...

So, give me a very short explanation on that. Thanks!
Also known as Socratic dialogue:
http://www.circeinstitute.org/2011/03/w ... c-
dialogue

1. Question what you know and understand the inadequacies in your current way of thinking.
2. Remedy your ignorance and build a more solid foundation of understanding.

From the link:
There are "four Socratic convictions. First, truth is. Second, truth is knowable. Third, truth can be discovered. And fourth, truth is ultimately one, in the sense that all things fit together into a harmonious symphony of being."
Thanks for that link! Now I am wiser. I took a few philosophy courses at university, but most of my knowledge of philosophers comes for Monty Python...

Now you're just trolling. Even I, who hardly ever read any anime or watch any manga knows what Akira is.

It's a movie. Watch it, you'd enjoy it. It's on YouTube. It's one of the most important cultural artifacts of the anime movement into the west.

@ Stardust, can you PM me about the workshop? I need to compile a list of names that I can easily access when I get around it it.

Pics optional but encouraged.

A lady came through my line today on the phone. Heard her say "Fuck flowers. He better get me something made of precious metal." Humanity makes me want to vomit.

We all can't be like Madding, who's morbidly obese, 300 pound Sasquatch of a woman has made him the envy of the entire internet. As he parades around in his metal bikini while chained to this monstrous behemoth, he knows how lucky he is and that lesser men would kill to be in his position. On this Valentine's Day, he will keep us in his mind as he slips into the folds of his beloved. And for that, we thank him.

It's the anime most directly responsible for introducing anime to the west.

You know, it's always been a bewilderment to me; I've forgotten things in my life, important things, and while I like Star Wars immensely I wouldn't consider myself a fanboy of the series... the only book I've read from the expanded universe is Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina. To continue the point, I've only seen the three original movies maybe a handful of times, and I'm so inexpert at the series I can't even remember which of the three movies even has the Jabba's palace scene off the top of my head, though I heavily suspect it's Empire. Yet, at a moment's notice, I can immediately place, and more importantly name Salacious Crumb, Jabba's pet that looks suspiciously like a cockgina.

Jabba's Palace was Jedi.

And maybe Phantom Menace... though I don't remember much about that abortion.

Today is awesome so far. I get out of work in an hour, it's sunny outside with not a single cloud in sight, and the weather is a comfortable low 60's. On days like this, I love living in Florida.

Quick question: would a bestowed aura that then becomes a creature trigger Purphoros's ability?

I have a question about Firedancer Satyrs' triggers. Do I HAVE to have it deal damage to a creature an opponent controls? ie: What if the opponent has a reckoner out? Do I have to have my Firedancer trigger deal 3 dmg to him (assuming I casted LS)?

What if there is a Caratid out? Since it has hexproof, would that just mean there is no valid targets to deal dmg to?

Also, if I cast Lighting Strike on a Planeswalker, with Firedancer be able to trigger?

Not a judge, but my 2 cents:

Firedancer's ability is not an option - if there's a viable target in play then you have to use the ability.

If damage is done to a Planeswalker then it's not done to your opponent - no Firedancer trigger.
