t helped me see that I'm actually making a difference and people responded really well when I was nice too them. It humbled me because I know that I'm not that different too them and the only difference is that I've got an opportunity to help others.

But seriously if you could stop talking to me that'd be great.

Today was a fucking awesome day. And I'm glad to be a part of this Clan and to know you guys. For realz. After dueling it out with a bunch of mouthbreathers with nothing but some Ash Zealots and Lightning Strikes, I'm glad that I can tell you guys about it. to zendikar (probably 09/2015 set) or the modern event deck or modern masters 2. Either hold out a bit longer or fork over the cash. No sense in complaining.
I'm betting on either a Tarn or Rainforest reprint in the event deck.

I haven't heard anything about a Return to Zendikar set. Recent rumors seem to suggest a completely different plane for the next cycle.

EDIT: I'm not going to complain about it too hard, I just find it ironic that Modern was supposed to be the more accessible "eternal" format and yet almost all the fetches are commanding more than most Legacy duals at this point.

09/2015 set IS a return set.

Have a link? That doesn't make sense to me. Wouldn't that be when the third expansion of the cycle is released?

Third expansion in the Theros block you mean, Val? That releases in May. Then the core set in July and the first set of the new block in September. I think the rumor is that it's called "Warriors of Khanar" or something similar. Not sure how Zendikar-ish that sounds.

But they can reprint fetches without doing a return set.

The fetch lands were named so as to be set-agnostic, much like the M13/INN buddy lands. They could appear in any set without ruining that sweet sweet flavor.

Yeah, I think my mental calendar is off. For some reason I was thinking the first expansion of a new block was released around October. I was talking about 2015 though, so I was thinking the third set of the Warlords block.

I can certainly see them reprinting fetches in the first and second sets since the names aren't necessarily tied to Zendikar. It would be AWESOME if they reprinted the Onslaught fetches
too. So Zendikar first expansion, Onslaught second?

I couldn't say that the Sacred Foundry was universally named, especially when you have stuff like Foundry Champion.

They were all printed with their guild symbols for a reason.

Is it worse then mine? I was facing a bant aggro-y midrangey thing (it was terrible, and I had been paired down) and they played a daxos.

I quickly scanned the card, but I thought it did something with THEIR library, and was overconfident and hasty in my reading because I thoguht I already knew what it did.

As I result, when I played a scry land on my next turn and saw a stormbreath dragon, I didn't move it to the bottom, so they gained 5 life.

Didn't matter hugely, since their deck was still pretty bad, but it was a stupid mistake that came from being overconfident that I knew it already.

I think I am going back to the fire and taking R/w aggro/burn to GP phoenix. Tapping islands losing to everything with swamps in them left a bad taste in my mouth today.

I am going to be grinding a lot with this deck, its fucking insane.

I've had offers to test with three local teams today, so I should finally start getting some more paper experience. Already feeling much better about the result. Next time!

Well now I'm curious

I lost the first round (GW aggro, couldn't find relevant removal first game, and kept a bad hand second game). So I was a bit annoyed going into the second game. It was mono-black, pretty standard list. Chose the wrong removal on the second turn Pack Rat (Lightning Strike instead of Ultimate Price, which meant I couldn't get rid of Nightveil Scepter on turn three) -> loss. So, enter the second game, it was quite grindy but I was confident that I could win it. Then I did this:

I sit on five open mana, my opponent is tapped out or with maybe one open mana. Some creatures on the ground on each side (Gary + Pack Rat + 2x Mutavault on
his side). He's on 4 life, I have a bit more, but I will die in perhaps 1-3 turns. I topdeck a Lightning Strike. What did I do? Removed his Pack Rat, instead of pointing it at him. The worst part? When the Lightning Strike resolved I realised that I had a Chandra's Phoenix in the graveyard...

I'm too stupid to play red-based decks...
