To buy a whole deck at once in the beta, right click on empty space in the deck window and select "Add missing cards to wishlist". Then when you filter cards in the trade window, select that you want only wishlist cards to show up. No way to see what people are buying at aside from the ads and some bots' websites.

MTGOwikiprice.com for looking at individual card prices, and you can buy whole batches of cards from retailers like MTGOTraders.com or by making a wish list and buying directly from bots.

Trial and error on my part. I didn't know about the wishlist so I wrote it down and just kept hitting up bots until I had a deck.

I ran a couple practice games to get the stops right and then tweaked them later as needed.

Wizards have been doing a bunch of "transition to the new client" articles to help along.

http://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/ar ... ine-client

You make the wishlist either by dragging cards to it or right clicking on and empty spot on your deck list and selected "add missing cards to wish list"

Because the file is misformatted. You have an option to fix that. Open it in notepad, put each card on a separate line, then save and try to import it again.

The primary problem is that I have no idea what I'm doing. I don't know how to turn tickets into decks. I don't know how to cut and paste decks and then find the cards or whatever. Importing a .txt seemed like a step in the right direction, but it doesn't work.

You have to buy the cards with the tickets from bots or players, the deck isn't just going to appear

Mtgo is bad, but you're not putting much effort into learning the basics

Ok, while you work on the wishlist:

To turn the tickets into cards:

Go to collection. There's a tab for cards and "other products". Click other products to show your tickets. Right click the stack
of tickets and say you want to add them all to your trade binder. They're still available to use for entering games so there is no downside here. (P.S., you will do something similar with packs when you start winning those to sell back to bots).

Now, at the top, go to the trade tab (home, collection, play, TRADE) at the top. This brings up all the bots (and a few humans) buying and selling cards. There's a small search text area to type in and narrow down by either user name or what they're advertising.

Some of the people here seem to like a group of bots called "goatbot" if you want to search by that. Alternatively, start off searching for bots advertising they sell cheap cards like commons, gobble all those up. The bots' chat windows are very helpful at telling you how to trade but basically you need to:

1) There's an option I guess to search by your wishlist. Alternatively, you can search individual cards in the trade through a similar window. You only need to partially search the
name. If the card doesn't show up, they don't have it in their trade binder.
2) drag the cards you want from their list to the bottom left window. This window is things you are getting from the other person in a trade.
3) the bot will ask tell you prices of cards in chat as you get them. When you have everything you want, they have a way to say that you are done
4) the bot will take the tickets from you automatically and then ask you to confirm
4a) If this fails, it's because you didn't set your tickets to be traded. Cancel trade, put tickets for trade, and restart.

For the more expensive cards, like the lands for example, I recommend you price shop among multiple bots because you can save a couple bucks that way. Or check that MTGO price link up above to at least make sure you're not overpaying.

Sorry, I'm not home or I'd hop on and show you too.

It's just frustrating Kait. It is the least user friendly program I've ever used. I've never been this frustrated when learning a new program that is in English.

I watched the video. I still don't get how you find the cards once they are in your wishlist? Surely it isn't just trial and error? How do I find out which bots have what I need?

Unless they're big money rares like Chandra, you pretty much have to do it the same way you do when making trades at a card shop if the store owner doesn't have them. Grab your wallet (tickets), go person to person, and ask if they have what you're looking for. MTGO doesn't sell singles from their store, you have to do it entirely through trades.

Personally, if you're having trouble with the wishlist in MTGO, I just make a list of your deck, say in notepad or pen and paper, start getting the cards, and mark them off as you get them. It'll take you about...30-60 minutes and that's if you're trying to price shop.

You don't need to buy basic lands. You stick those in your decks the same way you did for the new player phantom drafts you were in.

Some bots specialize in selling commons and uncommons. You can fill out 75% of the burn deck from a single bot. After that, you're just down to hunting down the money rares and uncommons.

If one of the DTR members is online, you can probably do a mock trade with them to get the feel for how trades work. You can also figure out how deckbuilding works just by making a shitty deck from all the stock cards you got at the start and opening a game in solitaire.

Also looks like you didnt read what Lazer wrote.

I looked at the dictionary for what does aneurysms mean, you mean this?
"An aneurysm is a swelling in part of an artery caused by damage to, or weakness of, a blood vessel wall."

I'm curious, what is trading like in v3? Not that it matters in a week.
