It's the only EDH deck I'm aware of to have won with Battle of Wits.

Also, having an end-goal in mind for what decks you want is kind of a backwards way of looking at it, to me. The way usually works is that you discover a card you want to build a deck around, and you do it. About 6 packs of dragon shields later, you start to think you may have a problem.

Angelic Overseer is clutch, but more so was the heavy mana rock package I put together. There were days where a turn three Armageddon was the correct play.
I don't run a huge equipment package, though. I have Worldslayer and the hasteboots, but nothing to tutor for them.

Yeah, see, I tried that. But somehow it always turned into "Well, I could tutor for X, but at this point I'd be better off with Worldslayer."Oh, I played swords, Sunforger, equipment tutors, and board wipes with indestructible dudes.

Also, it's really fun to say it.It's kinda prison. It's kinda stax. It's kinda control. It's kinda combo. What's the thing with that deckname btw?Agreed on both counts. Screw Boros, add blue and go Pristaxcontrombmodruu.
It's all Zedruu.
Pristaxcontrombmodruu.
And type it.

Looks like a fun deck, too bad I don't play Commander.

I mean I heard someone here post something about sligh decks "You play the deck to run hot and win events". As if he was saying if you planned on a safe 100% money finish you would not play that deck. Is the idea that you would play a different deck for winning an event to placing well just too ridiculous or is there actual merit to the idea?

EDH, the only format more capable of making my wallet scream in terror than pimping my Legacy deck. On that note, Sliver Overlord 4 lyfe, yo! /failthug

I have mana slivers to help with the geddon/blood moon stuff. My deck is decent but not designed for hardcore competitive (casual format and all) but it certainly cost more than all my current competitive decks (Standard, Modern, and Legacy) combined.

The creatures are relatively cheap. The expensive part is the whole "10 dual, 10 fetch, 10 shock" manabase

Or play green and have no issue with your 3-color $20 mana base.
On the other topic, I've heard of playing a deck to top XX, but I always assumed winning the whole event was still the real goal. I suppose if you had to choose between a deck that was something like a 10% favorite to win but a 80% favorite to place and another deck that was 20% to win but only 40% to place then I could understand taking the one that had a much better chance of getting in the money... but I never really think about it like that. I just play what I'm most comfortable with or what I feel is over-all the best deck.

When Slivers is the fairest deck at my table, I hardly consider it privilege.

But of course. List is in my sig. I could probably use a bit of work but I am focusing on competitive formats for now.

I check my privilege every day just to make sure it's still there.
Cis should put an 0/1 black friend token into play so people know he's not racist.
