Should be 4 stoke. Cut a wild slash.

You'd be suprised how good t1 Myth Realized, into t2 token production can be. While yes this is just preliminary, I am not unimpressed... Got it to 6 counters by turn 5, it felt good.

I think I'd rather drag my balls across a floor of broken glass than play with or against G/W devotion.

That is all.

Two out of the three rounds I played in Standard tonight was against GW Devotion. Luckily I was playing Abzan Control and just went LOL Elspeth along with removing Mastery and Whisperwood on sight.

Okay guys I need a bit of help here. I've never been to the SCGopens, and mostly do all my playing on cockatrice.
So I have zero real life cards and need to get them. Do they sell them before the tournament at some kind of scg card sales traveling shop. Or do need to travel to the no-so-local gaming store that sell magic singles? Advice?

Ah and I'm pretty settled on mardu. I'll post the list I'm looking at in a bit. Hopefully some of you know for sure. Thanks in advance M_v

There will be vendors at the event selling cards before and during the tournament.

I would suggest buying them all online if you have time to get them shipped to you beforehand. SCG jacks up the pricing on site.

Why didn't you get cards earlier? I'd probably go to your local store and get what you can. The vendors tend to sell out of the top tier cards at many events.

Though if you're settled on Mardu you can probably dig around in the dollar bin at the back of the venue.

my advice would be don't waste money on a deck for an SCG Open if you play 0 paper Magic otherwise

Scenario: You're team drafting. Pack 1, Pick 1, your options are Dromaka, Mistfire adept, or Scalegaurd Elite. Which do you take and why?
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

You take Dromoka, because it's the best card of the three and you don't want your team to face Dromoka. Further, you give your opponent a Scaleguard and have two entire packs to decide how to feed white because you're playing Dromoka. And you have set your teammate up in blue (probably), which is a good spot for them with this tiny useless bit of information.

Shouldn't have to say why you don't pass Dromoka.

I took Dromoka with the same logic, but I actually think your supposed to pass it and take Adept. Taking adept leaves your draft more flexible, and can potentially derail your neighbors deck by making his draft be forced in a direction while you get to control his picks. Seeing as you generally always take the rare, there's a reasonable shot that your neighbor takes Dramoka and is 3 color or he takes scalegaurd passing dramoka to your teammate.

In the end, I took dromaka, my neighbor took scalegaurd after opening Citadel Siege, but my team easily won the draft. I ended up GB splashing Dramoka and an abzan guide with the mondo combo of see the unwritten(which I got passed 3rd or 4th pick) and TWO Muckdragers, the delve gravedigger guy along with double rakshasa's secret and bitter revelation. My first game, I see the unrwittened into a muckdrager, returning a muckdrager which I delved 8 for to return Dramoka. We did not lose that game.

I don't think you pass Dromoka but your alternative ideas about it aren't bad.

no matter what white is going to be a clusterfuck. of the three of you getting those 3 cards, only you have all known information. I'd rather try to keep the Scaleguard player contained myself and let my teammate be happy in blue rather than hope things go well for him in white and have to try drafting blue while cutting from the Dromoka deck

I don't think this dissection is necessary though because I don't think you give your opponents a Dromoka and you want a Dromoka and that's basically it

That all makes sense. In the end I got zero white as the player to my left, and both players to my right where all in white. I had THE BEST GB deck all things considered.

Thanks for the input.
