I've been dicking around with Dragonrage over Atarka's Command just to see if the consistency is there after a testing buddy mentioned it. Trade the skullcrack topside for Stonewrighting everyone after blockers and painfree manabase.

Its been showing better results than I thought as turn 3 or 4 play. Curving in to it is closing out more games due to pushing the extra damage for burn range. Anyone else messing around with this or just something sitting on the fringes?

Atarka's command is a low down, dirty, contempt worthy, unfair magic card.

Ashcloud Phoenix or Stormbreath Dragon for a curve topper?

I'm liking the Phoenix better for the resiliency and the lower curve.

Yeah, I expected as much after playing a couple cockatrice games this morning. A dragonrage stuck in hand after a blight is not equal to a skullcrack. Its amazing when it goes off but after jamming it this morning, feels very much like you guys say, winmore card.

Ran Rg aggro splashing for 4 Atarka's Command and 3 Become immense at FNM. Swiss: 2-0 x 4, 2-1; T8: 2-0, split top 4. My only game loss was against an Abzan deck. The decks I faced were:

B Waste Not, Abzan Mid, RDW, RG Dragons, Abzan Mid; same RDW guy.

Good to see the deck perform at the PT as well; developed the list without watching any of it.

In addition to Thunderbreak. Stormbreath has better synergy with the Regent, but Ashcloud is more resilient and works really well with Nykthos.

Loved this deck that went 7-3 in Standard at the Pro Tour and thought you guys would like it over here too. Its a sledgehammer type deck.

[deck]Planeswalker (2)
2 Chandra, Pyromaster
Creature (10)
4 Thunderbreak Regent
4 Stormbreath Dragon
2 Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury
Sorcery (8)
3 Read the Bones
4 Thoughtseize
1 Crux of Fate
Instant (15)
4 Hero's Downfall
3 Draconic Roar
3 Bile Blight
3 Foul-Tongue Invocation
2 Kolaghan's Command
Land (16)
4 Temple of Malice
4 Bloodstained Mire
1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
2 Haven of the Spirit Dragon
4 Bloodfell Caves
1 Radiant Fountain
Basic Land (9)
5 Mountain
4 Swamp
60 Cards
Sideboard (15)
1 Kolaghan's Command
1 Crux of Fate
3 Anger of the Gods
3 Duress
1 Foul-Tongue Invocation
1 Virulent Plague
1 Ugin, the Spirit Dragon
4 Goblin Rabblemaster[/deck]

It feels like it has game against Aggro, Midrange and Control.

Good threats, but nothing that can't be Downfall'd so a little weak there.

Great disruption and amazing removal. Cant complain here.

Decent card advantage engine in Read the Bones and Chandra. No major spell to win the game though.

I love the Rabble out of the board vs control. Thoughtseize into Rabble seems amazing.

Normally I'd say Nelson's results are inflated by him being the best standard player, but at least one of his teammates also went 8-2 which is good endorsement.

A friend of mine finished in the finals of the same GPT that I played in and he said he thought there where too many surraks in the deck, but overall, the list was very good.

Really, just pick one of the good decks that your most comfortable with and jam.
