Wizards: "We won't print utility cards at Mythic."

....
Its not utility it just lets you reuse every etb super value creature you played for RW... oh and your restoration angels are out of mizzium mortars range.
It's not very useful in Standard aside from dodging board wipes, but the implications in Modern scare me a little bit.

Bouncing Snapcaster Mage, Vendillion Clique, Restoration Angel, Aurelia, Tidehollow Sculler, etc. Bleh.

That's a good point . Don't play modern yet so I hadn't thought about that

Aside from a few cards, I'm very underwhelmed by the spoilers thus far. :sherlock:

I'm a lot happier with the stuff spoiled so far than I was with the nearly the entire GTC spoiler.

I keep staring at that RW enchantment and hoping the wording will change or its a joke or something though...

I like both the Rakdos and Gruul champions, the hydra, etc. The fuse cards are underwhelming and there's no really mind blowing awesome stuff for my colors but I wouldn't say "very underwhelmed"

well, I'm not jumping up and down with excitement or anything, but I think there are enough chase cards, including additional copies of the shocks, to make it worth opening a couple boxes. I did it with GTC and RTR and they both did better than break even, so I'm hoping this will too. Plus it's an easy way to get playsets of commons and some uncommons to round things out.

I bought a Blu-Ray player today, because we just bought The Hobbit on BD. I just thought I'd pop in the disc to try it out for a few minutes. Who am I kidding? We'll watch the whole movie now...

I like the art of Legions initiative, but the title is deceptive because Niv-Mizzet is still going to rape all those Wojek Halberdiers.

I also very much enjoyed GTC spoilers. Boros Charm, BTE, Obzedat where all amazing cards and Aurelia's Fury at least looked awesome.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

Niv is just going to kill them for it.

That card is NOT good.
Tajic? Yeah, he's bad. Entreat the Angels is good though.
Entreat is good in exactly Legacy. Garbage everywhere else.

It's actually a pretty good card in Modern Miracles as well. As much as I love playing Counterbalance//Top in Legacy, that deck always feels way shakier than it should. It feels more "fair" in Modern, but at the same time "safer."

I've also
considered playing it in my Boros list as a 1of because it just randomly wins you the game.

There is a modern miracles deck? Never heard / seen it. Do you really have the enablers? No brainstorm, no Jace, no Top...seems super dubious to me.

Yeah, the deck is literally just board wipes, counter magic, and miracles. It's not much different than the deck we were playing in Standard.

It's not great by any means, but it's pretty consistent in doing its "thing," which is to just repeatedly lucksack off of the top.

As I'm the only person I know of in FoS from Boston I'll chime in here. My family and I are all fine, as are all my friends. From what we can tell 2 people are dead and dozens wounded.

I grew up a stone's throw from the start of the marathon and my first apartment by myself was just down the road from the finish line. I also work down the street from the finish line and have lunch in that area each day. This is one of the few years I've stayed home instead of heading in to watch the marathon or Sox game. Very scary to think of terrorist attacks in what is pretty much your stomping grounds.

Could you use Legion's Inititive to get three attack steps in a turn with Aurelua?

Johnny, yes. Aurelia's ability sets up a delayed trigger which fires in the "end of combat" phase.

You would respond to the Aurelia trigger on the stack with Legion's Initiative activated ability (make sure to do this AFTER combat damage). Legion's Initiative will resolve first, blinking all of your dudes. Then Aurelia's ability will resolve, creating a new combat step. Since Aurelia is considered a new object after being blinked, you may use the 2nd combat trigger again when it attacks.

No it didn't. This card is way better in a deck that abuses EBT effects than it is in some kind of pseudo-aggro deck, and I'm the bannerman for pseudo-aggro boros decks. :sherlock:

That list is asking for Rancor. Maybe -2 Volley, -1 Mauler, +3 Rancor. Rancor is also nuts with Hounds of Griselbrand.

I'd also take out Skullcrack for more utility spells but that's just me.

I don't think skullcrack nor Tormod's crypt really fit.

Blasphemous act will do you more good winning against junk rites than crypt imo

Yeah, Crypt seems too reactive, I would rather play something like Volcanic Strength or Flames of the Firebrand in there.

GY hate isn't very good against reanimator, since the games you usually lose involve their midrange beatdown plan post-board. Weakening your average draw to prevent their nut draw, when your real problem is just them playing value creatures, isn't effective.

You don't need graveyard hate to beat Reanimator, you need an overloaded Electrickery early into the game to kill off Pilgrims and stuff.
