The only subtext in my post is, "why did you guys ragequit a site you obviously prefer to this one, was shutting down your popular clan because of a couple suspensions really proving any points when you're still there as much as ever?'

This was no exodus... This was an infiltration!
Eric, Ren and Jensen were activists
Heads loaded with theory, their hearts are filled with passion
Shared the same left wing politics
Liked the same music, they were part of the protest movement
Now, Anna presented herself as a feminist
Studied the way they talked and dressed
Fashioned herself an anarchist
Eric fell in love with Anna at the meeting of the crime think conference
He didn't know it but Anna was an FBI informant

Ugly Sally wouldn't tolerate such discrimination! They'd let people be neckmad, chestmad, beardmad, or even toemad!

Just lurking. And I've never read someone saying "crackin" in internet in something not related to piracy (you know, I'm a pirate).

Magic players say "crackin" all the time in regards to booster packs. I guess "openin" doesn't sound as catchy.

In reading the discussion about the Rumor Mill here I realized that the Gutter on mtgs was like 90% community and 10% mtg discussion. Which is basically the case today on this site. So, in a way, we've successfully ported the Gutter model to DTR. I know we all want to see this site take off, but most of the hardcore posters here, from the regulars in this thread to the FOS people in their clan thread, are here for the community. I'd say out of our 222 members that 50 post here on a weekly basis. That's a bit under 25% percent of all members active, compared to the 3-4% active membership of Ugly Sally.

tl;dr - DTR is succeeding from the 'community' standpoint.

Yeah, I can say, I'm here because you guys are funny, cool and not elitist bastards. Unlike MTGS.

But we does have very good players here - when I posted in the modern forum, I got lots of helpful advice.

So, what I think, is - if we got more people to come here, I'm sure we can get lots of good MTG discussion - we just need to encourage people and advertise how friendly we are.

I never asked for help in MTGS because how complex that shit looks, with like 37634785643956437654 sub forums. And the retarded mods.

People play constructed?

I posted in EDH once or twice. I had to stop once Checkbox told me Steeple Roc is a good card.

Seriously, I just want to play mafia.

The exact quote: "But as far as birds go, Steeple Roc is one of the better ones when it comes to combat. *shrug*"

Hardly means "is a good card"

So I've been noticing a curious pattern while browsing Salvation. The FoS guys all still post there pretty much the same amount they always did, they just have their clan thread here now. You sure showed Salvation who's boss!

The format is technically eternal, but interest starts to wain pretty quick after the next set comes out; you can expect MTGO to stop offering it as a format outside the casual rooms after Theros comes out, and interest in it will drop dramatically when M14 comes out. That being said, even though you only have a few months of playing it as-is, the block will most likely develop into the core of the coming season, so buying into it isn't a bad idea, especially with a set like this one. :)
