Did anyone post a Nykthos/Ember Swallower deck? I think I saw one, but I can't remember where.

Edit: Nevermind...found it...

Tried out BW Aggro based on enchantments and Heroic. And damn does it look strong.

[deck]Creatures:
4 Soldier of the Pantheon
4 Favored Hoplite
4 Phalanx Leader
4 High Priest of Penance
4 Agent of the Fates
4 Xathrid Necromancer
4 Nighthowler

Other Spells:
4 Orzhov Charm
4 Gift of Orzhov
2 Gift of Immortality

Lands:
4 Godless Shrine
4 Temple of Silence
4 Swamp
10 Plains[/deck]

Deck requires lots of refinement, but it performs pretty damn well at the moment. Favoured Hoplite and Phalanx Leader disappointed me a bit. But the rest of deck can wreck things as long as you don't get Anger'd.

And I'm waiting for LoL Season 3 World's Championships. I hate the hours of broadcasting, I'm gonna feel like shit at the work - but damn, it's much better than most sports in my opinion. But maybe that's just me, after having my ankle broken and polish hospital being during strike, so they refused to do anything about leg I feel a bit bitter in terms of sports.

Not to mention... what do you know about sports. You're not even kicking the ball while playing Football.
And then you play Baseball. Sorry for that, but Baseball as any non-contact sport (Tennis, Volleyball) disgusts me.
Sport was supposed to be a subsitute for war. I want to at least pretend I'm hurting someone.

Obviously Yarpus hasn't played Tennis Volleyball or Baseball with some of my friends. . .at 1am the rules to some sports change

Tennis aka Takethis - Game is still played to 4 but points may only be scored by hitting a player.
Volleyball aka poormans quidditch - add 2 more players to 3 man team. Beater and Blocker. Only beaters may cross under net. Beaters may not touch ball. Blockers may roam freely in your own court but can only assist in back row. Hitting an incoming beater with a live ball is a valid play to send them back if no blocker is present but missing scores point for opposing team.
Baseball aka Gangland - Field teams of 9(or 18 for oline and defensive line). Same scoring rules. Offensive players not restricted to running baseline but must take each base in order. Players can only be tagged out. Players may run in groups but only 2 players of the offensive team may exist on the same base. Based Players may
only advance forward, unbased players may occupy a previously based spot or return to preceding base.

Yeah sometimes we dont remember where we got the bruises from...especially after adding alcohol. Worse after adding paintball guns.

So.. RE: Firedrinker Satyr

I've played about 5 games with this guy so far and I'm still unsure about him. It's definitely a terrible top deck and I basically don't want to see it any other time then in my opening hand.

He's better topdeck than Stromkirk Noble. But yeah, Stromkirk was terrible, terrible topdeck.
It still doesn't mean card is bad in any way. 1CMC drops are usually bad topdecks.

@Lorddax
Nice. I actually played with friends, but I'd never mix alcohol and sports. Our games were pretty much extreme even without alcohol.
And I even played american Football with friends, but then they got scared. Most of them were bigger than me (I'm 6.4) but I was the one who was fast and didn't cared about the pain - both mine and my opponent's.

I just find that in a lot of situations I found myself holding him back because I couldn't afford to take the damage from him when he got blocked.

You shall not pussy out.
Damage is damage. It just happens. As long as you put pressure and trade, it's fine.
It's not like Omenspeakers are going to kill you or something.
Remember to prioritize him over Rakdos Cackler during first turns. I'd rather trade Satyr and 2 life for Omenspeaker than have my Cackler blocked for years.

If you can trade with their creature, then it's worth the life loss. Otherwise, it doesn't matter which one-drop you had, because you shouldn't be throwing away dudes anyways. With Firefist Striker and Goblin Shortcutter, we should find plenty of ways to force this guy through midrange. Against control, life loss is irrelevant, so a self-pumping 2-power 1-drop is phenomenal. In the mirror his downside might be shaky, but that's why most variants side out their 1-drops for removal (at least from people on this site; in SCG tournaments, it seems like the aggro players are generally not of this paradigm).

A thought to fix the "this thread is cluttered with decklists" problem that has been discussed in several places:

Can't lists just be put in spoiler tags? Then it is easier to read through, and if you aren't interested in the archetype posted, you don't have to look at the list.

Whoops. Thought it put into play. So yay! Want to see lots of this card for players fixing mana lol

On a different note. Full spoiler is up and pre rel is next weekend! I just spent a couple hours doing my first pass through the pool....So that means you guys get another one of these!
Image

There's your Uncommon and Common pools showing access to non conditional evasion and removal by color.

For sake of analysis, evasion was counted as flying, intimidate, unblockable or FS. Bounce(hand or lib) cards have also be counted as removal.

Including Trample and removing FS would tweak the numbers a bit. The reason why I include FS in my calcs and not trample is that 4/2 trampler would be blocked by an 2/X, generating only 1 packet where as a 2/2 FS will most likely NOT be blocked by a X/2. Its a call I use in my calcs to assume
board interactions based on average plays, and mostly uses red mage logic of if I can kill it I will.

Should help you guys decide what Hero's path you might want to opt for with the path seeded booster!

Watching the Giants-Dodgers game right now. Giants are up 17-3. And I get to go to my first game at AT&T Park on the 28th! 3 rows back from the field behind the visitors bullpen. Really good opportunity for some foul balls.

Hey guise. Just popping my head in with the list i've been testing. It's still rough around the edges, but has been performing bloody solidly for me.

[deck]Rakhammer[/deck]

The sideboard is pretty messy atm (that'll change as I get a better grasp on what people are playing post rotation). But basically it provides what we want as Dos Rakis, to my understanding, Speed and Flexibilty.
All
haste 2 drops, exava playsets and 2 stormbreath + 8 burn spells provides early to mid game hasty threats/dmg, while ash zealot and exava specifically also being solid on defence against aggro, plus reckoners being kings as usual. I was suss about Purphoros at first but he has proven to be an amazing card, either providing and explosive turn 5 as a 6/5 (indestructable love) with stormbreath (whos pro white has proven to be invaluable) or just providing inevitibilty with his shock on creature ETB in deadlock situations, not too shabby blocking either. Same with Underworld doggy with 2 at the top of the curve an amazing creature on attack being basically unblockable and a 6/6 on defence refilling my hands with what is usually more efficient cards than they get back if they manage to kill it.

Pretty standard burn suite + dragon mantle (who to be honest I just treat like stonewright and not as a spell) and doom blade to stop anything that isn't black.
Sideboard is a mess lol, The only things I know I wouldnt move is thoughtseize, Rakdos' return and probably dreadbore. I just chucked in more of the different 4 and 5 drops to swap them in and out for different situations, but all round it's worked pretty well.

Anyway through my playesting it has been showing some pretty damn good results, which im happy about it being the first deck i've legitamtly made with no help. Hope you guys like it :P. I didn't want a clusterfuck of info in the one post so any questions and inqueries don't hesitate to ask.

wow the quotes about peoples evaulations of firedrinker makes me sad like this one.
Compare it to Dragon Hatchling: I did that in the earlier post and the idiotic reply was "but hatchling is a 0/1!" 0/1 huh? ok. So with this p.o.s. waste of a rare (yes, still calling it that) I can pay 4 mana to pump him to a 4/1, take two to my face, and be blocked by anything in existance.

With hatchling I can pay 4 mana and - surprise, surprise - it is also a 4/1, doesn't shock me needlessly, and flies over for a more secure and clean hit. And its a common.

Lets compare to something else. Capashen Knight.

Drawbacks:
Costs 1 more and 1 less power.
Pluses: Same firebreathing cost. No asinine "killing yourself" damage. First Strike providing actually relevance and discouraging blocking. And its also a common.
this may be the dumbest card evaluation I have ever seen. :confused2:
I swear to God, every thread we make falls victim to Godwin's law except instead of Hitler it's redthirst's piece.

Sorry, I won't have any testing time during the upcoming months due to a move. And I miss several cards as well. I was mostly interested in what you put in it and how many Nykthos you used. My pre-order store has them for less than expected, so I thought I'd get a few and try something with Ember Swallowers and some other manasinks.
