Realize, I usually just Spear the Reckoner as soon as it comes down. If I lose a guy, oh-fucking-well. And if I take 3, then oh-fucking-well.

But then, I never know what I'm doing half the time either.

Anger + lifebane zombie is not my favorite combo. Still, both are individually awesome in the deck and should be mained.

Yeah, it's true that you can fly over or just suck it up and spear him. Still, control couldn't care less about reckoner and BR midrange doesn't have s single thing he stops. That's closer to where i personally want to be. Not just reckoner either. BR midrange ignores voice and 4/4s of all shape and size. One big problem for both aggro and mid builds is bloodbaron of vizkopa. It would be nice to have an answer other than discard and conceding.

What's everyone's honest opinion on Kuroda Boros? Right now, the discussion really just seems to be between me, yarpus and helios. Are there a lot of better red decks to be playing?

As much as I want to splash another color for power, I prefer to stick to low-curve aggro Mono Red.

With Undying rotating out, Aristocrat will no longer be a deck, right? It has been unfavorable match-up for red, at least for me.

Edit: Of course, it's mostly due to Red lacking instant removals. Seems like it won't be a trouble in upcoming standard.

I don't have premium access so I can't see any of the content besides the deck that was posted earlier. I still think Devour Flesh should be enough but I understand what Hero's Downfall brings to the table. I don't think it's a bad card, it just makes me wince a bit in a deck with a somewhat shaky manabase.

Whoever said something about San Jose, I can't come in earlier. It's for work and they're basically paying me to be there for a set amount of days to include my plane ride. Plus my wife works over the weekend anyway so I'm on kid duty. I will be bringing a couple of decks to mess around with at Channel Fireball though. I hear they get a lot of action on weeknights and that's unheard of around here.

Not denying it. In fact, that was the FIRST Iron Maiden song I ever heard and learned on the guitar. I love the video that VH1 did with the kitten for this song. If I ever find it on YouTube, I'll post it.

Glad to find another brother in arms to up the irons with! :jam:

The video is a goof, but the message is big and real...we did the Native American all kinds of wrong.

This has to go along with it...not Maiden but another guitar god with a similar message about our stupidity:

Ahaha, he used that deck. He was testing it against me on Cockatrice the other night.

Which I find funny since I was playing James' mono red list and smashing him pretty handily.

Khaospawn's sig is just gratuitous. But Redthirsts, it zooms in and lets you see the little heart above Chandra's bounteous buttocks. it's so romantic.
That would be the top of her g-string...we can't have anyone thinking that our fiery queen is running around with her Gift of Venus open to the air with a bunch of horny satyrs running about. Yes, I'm lookin' at you, SUGA!

From a post on Sally:
"My current manabase is: 12 shocks, 8 scrylands, 4 guildgates, but I'll probably cut the guildgates for basics or something because they are really bad."

So, I hear that Burning Earth is still a pretty good card.

About 3 in the SB.

Because you know people are going to try to play their 3-color pet decks from last format and/or TH is going to waltz into your LGS with Maze's End.

3 SB slots for "I WIN" buttons? Yeah, I'll take that.

So I'm starting to think that all-in-boros might be the meta call.

All this talk about 1 for 1 then drop a fatty had me thinking how to beat that. Simple, play multiple creatures a turn. Burning Tree mixed with 16 one drops seems like the perfect way to accomplish that. Naturally weak to Anger of the Gods, Boros Charm fixes that.

After playtesting with B/R aggro against Midrange , there was so many games I was like man, if I was playing against aggro I'd be toast right now

Yeah, I think that 1-drop Boros build is pretty scary. It can go transformational if you need, but beats face in game 1. All the manabases from pro brews are greedy as hell.
