Dude, my brother is a die-hard Esper and B/G/r player. So, needless to say, he's actually my best testing partner for several reasons:Just wanted to pop in and say Fate & Nuwen your B/r Aggro brew is solid and I am a fan. Was toying with various Rakdos Midrange decks (probably bad) but sleeved up your deck and after a few games against my brother piloting Esper control I'm sold.
1) He never has any use for the cards I use, and vice-versa, so we just give each other free shit all day. While, not technically a valid playtest point, he does enable me to build decks and acquire sweet candy. So, that's a plus.
2) He knows my style better than me sometimes. Which is good, because at times, he's playing me[/i:
145en24t] not my cards.
3) He always seems to have the worst deck for me to test against at key times. Last season, he started with Jund, which was only 3 cards off from Mark Nestico's list (who won my States), which became the premier Jund build early on last season. Then, he went Esper before he just started alternating between that, Jund, and Reanimator. He's a douche.
4) I've literally had him present brews to me weeks in advance before some Top 8 or PT (or GP) deck "got there." So he knows his shit. As it would turn out, sometimes I'm testing against the best "current" deck and don't even know it.
Anyways, your comment struck pretty close to home. You're lucky to have a bro playing a polar opposite style. It will only help you in the long run.

In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.

Hey, you guys are still helping me.But, joking aside, this clan helped me through an exceptionally rough time in my life. That means a lot to me.

I actually hate that I have to live in my reality a year after I said, "Desecration Demon sucks right now because morbid is a thing. He''l be better after INN rotates."
I bulk rare'd all of my DD's and forgot about him. Now he's back, and at $8. He's now appearing in Modern lists.
I now have to consider him to be a factor in today's metagame.
"Tell me, Hama. How did it come to this?"

I learned how to play competitive magic be reading literally every mike flores article on the mothership when I was in high school. That helped a ton(even though he was a mediocre player, he was still winning/top 8ing ptqs, and was designing decks for hall of famers including finkel back in the day).
Then when I discovered other websites, I was exposed to PV and Patrick Chapin who are the best strategic magic writers period. There are other very good writes, but none as prolific as Chapin or as detailed and precise as PV.

Speaking of Chapin, LP, I have his new book on PDF that I downloaded from Pirate Bay.
If anybody wants a copy, just PM me your e-mail. I'll forward it to ya'll.

I learned to play competitive Magic accidentally by posting in Z's RDW thread in Scars/INN block Standard. When he started the infamous Red Thread for RTR brewing (from which this clan was born), he sent me and others a PMI learned how to play competitive magic be reading literally every mike flores article on the mothership when I was in high school. asking for contribution. I don't think I've ever learned so much than by brewing Dos Rakis and piloting it to much success.
I read Next Level Magic and got surprisingly little from it.

buddy and I all play different decks. My bro as mentioned is Control and mainly B/U control. My buddy is normally G/W based midrange and I am of course Aggro red. We pretty much team up, test, and attempt to atleast make in the prizes every tourney we enter to fill our collected cardpool.being that we all play different strategies it helps that we don't really share cards.
Funny thing my brother played Frownyard and later Reanimator last standard season. I ended up missing those tourneys though. People tend to forget aggro is a thing here. When I manage to get away from work I am happy to remind them.

May have to give this a go just to see how it is.I wouldn't play it if I was trying to stay aggressive, but the card shits all over midrange decks. To the point where being transformative is actually "transforming into unbeatable."desecration isnt an aggro card, thats a bit too tooheavu and transformative for me but if it works go go for it

Y'know, I never played with it. But maaaaaany times against it. Much like Kessig Wolf Run, I'll never know what it's like to truly wield that power, but I respect what it can do. In a weird way, I miss it the way the Joker would miss Batman if he were to die.Oh Frownyard, we hardly knew ye. You will be missed.

Back-to-front packs out of the box today--Purphoros with foil Fabled Hero on top of pack with Nylea and foil Soldier of the Pantheon. Happy face!Craig wescoe on Purphorous:
I'm not surprised this one is the highest of the five gods. He is strong and will see play. I'm hesitant to Fork out $20 for him though. He is not ten times as good as his hammer, so if you feel big things about this guy, I'd recommend investing in 40 of his hammers instead of a play set of him, unless of course you just want to play with him. Then go crazy.

So GB aggro obliterates control and midrange. Anything there?
Core cards:
- experiment one (will be a 3/3 every game, regen)
- Lotleth troll (regen)
- Dreg mangler (scavenge)
- boon satyr (flash, bestow)
- reaper of the wilds (hexproof)
- abrupt decay (awesome vs. red, also hits ashiok, hammer, dsphere)
- doom blade / putrefy
- thoughtseize
Add scavenging ooze (main) and underworld connections post board.
Lifebane Zombie is an option as well, though difficult in the mana, and I think GW would already be easy.

despise you at the same time?

I bought four packs over the last two days. Crap in all four of them. There were 3 red cards out of all 4 packs. Apparently, I needed an 8th Act of Treason.

Pyromaster ramped up in price when he was away from his keyboard back at home for a week, again
Groan, at this rate, I might have done better playing M14 Sealed event. Still, I don't think I have seen a day where red pw triumphed others in price (Koth has Elspeth following up close enough)
Or I'll just bother myself to get at least two of them.
@Photodyer: I'm interested in some read as well, so I'd be glad if you can email me as well.

Gentlemen, I will be more than happy to e-mail the goods to you fine folk. However, I need e-mail addresses PM'd to me.
I'm also too lazy to look them up in the Crank Files.
Send me you addresses and you shall have you reward!
