Oh I missed it earlier, happy birthday lp.

I wish I could find some standard play. I've just been drafting my backside off. That being said the number of packs I've pulled that way is pretty good. Last 2 drafts have been 3-0 and 3-1, and the environment is great, but I really want to play my devotion red deck. I can't even play red in draft because apparently I'm just going to keep passing me bonkers blue and white stuff. There is no reason that I should be getting divine verdict 10th pick, or battlewise hoplite 9th, even last pack.

You do need to try to gay it up a little more.

You're like the least gay member of this clan.

And that's counting the fact that you voluntarily have sex with men.

looking right now, Junk beat mono red 2-1, and the G/w faced each other. The one who named his deck the Ceddy P experiment lost, to the surprise of no one here. Naya Beat Dega, and Mono green crushed B/w

So we have Mono green vs G/w, and Naya vs Junk.. I think i like G/w over junk for the finals. though I would want mono green to win based on coolness, making 10 mana with Nykthos was sweet.

I love/hate drafting like that.

I was confused/elated when I got a 6th pick doomblade one time in M14 draft.

Ok, I made a post in the Devotion Red Primer.

Normally I don't do this, but I want everyone to read it. I spent a lot of time writing it and I want to know your thoughts after reading it - for the sake of my deck testing/tweaking. I don't want to hear critiques on my writing style, grammar, spelling, etc (but if you do want to make a compliment, go right ahead, cuz I ain;y gonna stop ya. :)). Just give me some honest thoughts and opinions on my decisions, ideas, and theory-crafting.

I'd link to it, but I'm lazy. Its the long, #13 post.

So this is the first prelease for me where I got more than 2 mythics (Nylea & Purp couple, Cerebus & Hythonia). I guess I will be keeping those two gods. Anyway, here's my build

[deck]1 Blood-Toll Harpy
1 Bronze Sable
1 Fellhide Minotaur
1 Guardian of Meletis
1 Opaline Unicorn
1 Ember Swallower
1 Erebos's Emissary
1 Fanatic of Mogis
1 Two-Headed Cerberus
1 Purphoros's Emissary
1 Purphoros, God of the Forge
1 Stoneshock Giant
1 Underworld Cerberus
1 Hythonia the Cruel

1 Lightning Strike
2 Traveler's Amulet
1 Boon of Erebos
1 Pharika's Cure
1 Read the Bones
2 Rage of Purphoros
1 Cutthroat Maneuver

9 Mountain
8 Swamp[/deck]

Possible cards to play
1 Rescue from the Underworld
2 Dragon Mantle
1 Sip of Hemlock

As you can see, it's a deck that attempts hold
out till I can drop the bigger & meaner creatures to overwhelm the opposition.
1st Match - VS GWu (0-2)
Game 1: He managed to lead with Fabled Hero and then dropped his promo Celestial Archon to seal the game. Noticed that I don't have a healthy number of flier to counter.
Game 2: Okay, this was downright ugly, since I spent most of my turns drawing lands (A total of 12 lands as I lost, and I managed to flip and find two more topdecked)

2nd Match - VS WB (2-0)
Game 1: Got my Underworld Cerberus bestowed with the emissary from Erebos himself (9/9 pumper, hard to beat). The opponent doesn't seem like a veteran though, since he tried to double-block the doggie.
Game 2: Curved and overwhelmed with Ember Swallower and Stoneshock Giant at the back of a [card]Boon of
Erebos[/card]. He shouldn't have attempted to wall me with Heliod's token.

3rd Match - VS RB (0-2)
Game 1 & 2: He was able to topdeck Nighthowler two games. Nuff said.

4th Match - VS GB (1-2)
Game 1, 2 : This was all blurry...
Game 3 : Since I got beaten down by a gigantic 6/5 fox. Not even a rage of a forge god can handle that one. And then lo, Hythonia is combing her hair at the topdeck right after lethal is dealt.

Yes, Heliod. Pre-release sealed on modo. As for the rest of the pool

[deck]Black
1 Viper's Kiss
1 Fleshmad Steed
1 Scourgemark
1 Fellhide Minotaur
2 Returned Centaur

Red
1 Akroan Crusader
2 Messenger's Speed
3 Priest of Iroas
1 Satyr Rambler
2 Demolish

Blue
2 Thassa's Bounty
1 Sea God's Revenge
1 Prescient Chimera
1 Griptide
1 Coastline Chimera
1 Wavecrash
Triton
1 Triton Fortune Hunter
1 Crackling Triton
1 Fate Foretold
1 Ordeal of Thassa
1 Stymied Hopes
1 Triton Shorethief
1 Lost in a Labyrinth

White
1 Heliod's Emissary
1 Divine Verdict
1 Ray of Dissolution
1 Observant Alseid
1 Lagonna-Band Elder
2 Cavalry Pegasus
2 Leonin Snarecaster

Green
1 Centaur Battlemaster
1 Nessian Asp
1 Nylea's Disciple
1 Nylea, God of the Hunt
1 Karametra's Acolyte
1 Artisan's Sorrow
1 Shredding Winds
1 Satyr Piper
1 Feral Invocation
2 Fade Into Antiquity
1 Commune with the Gods
2 Satyr Hedonist
1 Defend the Hearth
1 Sylvan Caryatid[/deck]
Yeah, looking back, apparently I could have played monstrous RG instead.

Conclusion: Well, I wonder if it would have been better if I neglected removals in favor of more probability to land down the fatties by going RG. There is also the fact that luck plays a big role in games like these.

Still, as for the loot...
[
card]Underworld Cerberus[/card] - 3 tix
Purphoros, God of the Forge - 12 tix
Nylea, God of the Hunt - 4 tix
Hythonia the Cruel - 1 tix
Slyvan Carytid - 5 tix
Temple of Triumph - 4 tix

Totals up to 29 tix. That easily pays out the event. I'll most probably keep both gods and carytid as I stated earlier.

Maybe I should give it another go after I take some deserved rest.

Edit: Oh right, I'm eager to give fellow FoS some discount for the followings if any is interested.

He was playing Boros, something like:

4 Ash Zealot
4 Boros Reckoner
4 Chandra's Phoenix
4 Firedrinker Satyr
4 Firefist Striker
4 Firemane Angel
4 Rakdos Cackler

2 Chained to the Rocks
4 Lightning Strike
4 Magma Jet

22 land inc. at least 2 plains and 1 Mutavault.

He had more chained in his board, with Chandra, flames and mortars.

Match 1~
G1: he has double satyr into phoenix. I have a leashed cackler into flames for his board. He proceeds to play a Cackler and Firefist; I have a YP$ with Strike into Chandra. Game.
G2: board out my 1 drops, board in control package. He has no plays for the first two turns; I elect not to play a YP$ into open mana. While he is stalled on two mana I play two phoenix, he Jets one, finds his third land and plays a
Reckoner. YP comes down, Phoenix is chipping away, then he jets it. I Jet him to get them back, play some more land, play some more Phoenix; he has a zealot and FFS but YP locks down the ground. He finds a Firemane but I have enough burn to get there.

Match 2~
G1: my draw is Cackler into Zealot into Zealot plus Satyr with Jet and Strike in hand. He has Cackler, FFS and Chained (had to shock himself) but quickly succumbs.
G2: we both board into control; I keep a sketchy hand with Jet, two Phoenix and all mountain. He has a zealot and two Reckoner and a chained. I draw some more land and stumble around and die without really offering any resistance.
G3: I have zealot and Phoenix, he burns both away and I resolve a Chandra who's +1 apparently reads 'draw a card'. He has a zealot and a strike for chandra, but a shock and a second Chandra, then some more removal overwhelm his little guys. He had a few cards in hand at the end, so I guess Chandra meant he couldn't play some x/1s he had in.

Match 3~
nG1: he goes first, I keep trying to play guys and block, he burns them away until I get his board with a flames. He has burn and Firemane in hand but no 4th mana; I jet him EOT to find my 4th and resolve a Chandra. He can't burn her out and I'm able to draw a card (Mutavault) before he resolves Firemane. Chandra plus shock gets rid of that then Chabdra takes over.
G2: he has no plays for two turns, then has a reckoner, pass, Chandra. I have double Phoenix and a fistful of burn. Chandra finds another Reckoner, but he's too far behind to play it (phoenix x 2 and 'vault), opting to play Firemane. That gets killed, he overloads mortars for my board, I have burn to get back my Phoenix which finish him off.
Z, from the other side of the table, what were your thoughts on Firemane?

Finished 12th at states today. Lost to the mirror in round 3 and Naya mid in my win and in. Both people who beat me top 8'd with the naya player finishing second losing to someone playing Red Devotion deck.

Barrage of the expendable was awesome. Trolled some assehole player. 3-0 vs. control cause esper sucks. And cause hammer lols at uw. More info. I'll catch up with everything later cause I have the plauge.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

Currently 2-1 in the DE and 3-0 in 2-man queues. Punted a game to rapid fire misclicks (activated mutavault twice instead of casting spells....)

Not bad, not bad.

It's certainly funny how guildgates can be that expensive when a single scry 1 is added to the concoction. Like, Temple of Triumph sells for 5 tix right now.

That's why I only play pauper on mtgo, I am not exactly patient enough to do it right. I also have issues with setting stops on phases, where I forget to set them and lose because I missed timing, or I forget to take them out and spend bunch time trying to figure out why the other guy is so slow only to realize that it's hung up on my stop. I used to play tribal standard seriously back in CoK/Rav/CSP, and won several events with tribal shaman. But paying for cardboard heroine and digital heroine is too much (especially since I was also playing 40k, which is obnoxiously
expensive even compared to m:tg).

Also, things went south relationship wise for me. I've been real busy and haven't been able to make time for her besides texting, and she couldn't accept that. The lady and I talked and we decided there was no way to salvage what we had left, so we should just end it before anyone said anything they'd regret. I blame myself for starting this situation (for those that tuned in before) but she sure as hell didn't help fix it.

I felt shitty about it, blamed myself, then drank some whiskey was feeling fine again. Still feeling fine actually, even after it wore off. I'm sure it'll hit me later though. There's no way an almost 2 year relationship ending wouldn't effect me.

Whiskey is best emotional solvent. When me coming out of the closet
fucked my life up beyond all recognition (I was engaged at the time, and my parents intead of disowning me decide to just not believe it, and have no interest in hearing anything about my life) it was jonny walker that got me through it. When career failure, relationship failure, my dogs death, and panic attacks consumed my entire life it was bargain basement rye whiskey that got me through (usually in the form of old fashioneds with bitters and sugar to mask the cheapness). After I got out of VA mental ward from a 4 day involuntary lockdown, it was all I had to come home to. Now that I am on anti-psychotics I shouldn't drink, but I drink one to you brother.

thanks to nbw for the sig.
You do need to try to gay it up a little more.

You're like the least gay member of this clan.

And that's counting the fact that you voluntarily have sex with men.

Twitch says I have a codec issue, will record locally then upload later.

Seriously, this is getting fucking old.
Did they say what exactly was causing it though? Or just "We don't know what's wrong exactly but it's probably this vague thing that troubleshoots all problems because we don't give a shit?"

Update all of your drivers, and maybe get VLC Media Player and have it update all of your Codecs for you. (Since it does this automatically upon installation.)
